  1. First two rounds of 'state' St George's--Bye CAK 5 - DCA 1 CPA--Bye USJ 1 - ND 3 CCS--Bye USN 6 - FACS 0 ECS--Bye Knox Grace 1 - BGA 0 of the second round games, only the CCS USN game had the losing team score a goal, so there were 3 goals scored by the losing teams, not 2. If there were 4 goals scored in the first round, the posted scores must be wrong. Out of those 8 games, only the CCS UNS game looked to be a good game.
  2. Now, I can only speak for DII, A--but the fact that the 3 and 4 seeds advance to Regionals and the first round of State is nothing but sheer greed on the part of T$$AA. The second round of State ended today, and not one 3 or 4 seed was even close to beating a 1 or a 2. In fact, those teams scored a grand total of 2 goals in eight first/second round State games. There is no need for those consulation games. When you can lose 4 games in the post season and still make the state tourney, that's a problem. (Lose District semi, District consulation, Region semi and Region consulation). Would love to hear comparisons from other divisions. Thanks
  3. Don't think that fatigue will be too much of a problem for CCS in the championship game.
  4. Good to see winning all those games by double figures really paid off for Grace at state.
  5. Watch out for a team that lost 5-4 to Merrol Hyde?
  6. Schools that are in the same region as ND and CCS whip their butts in basketball every year. My girl plays both soccer and bball. I've seen the region games in both sports. I could be wrong here, but I didn't see a whole bunch of 'private' schools in the state basketball tourney last year. The 4th ranked team district 8 beats the 1st place team in district 7 every year. It's no contest. These schools don't put the time in playing soccer in the off season. The play basketball. And this isn't something new. If you are not going to do the off season work, well-enuf said.
  7. ND continues post season magic, a 2-1 winner over CCS for the 7 A/AA championship.
  8. Oh, I know CCS Coach does the rankings, and yes, they don't mean squat, cept in locker room speeches. If CCS is the #1 team in A/AA, then I'm the #1 singer in country music. However, I do believe the rankings do help in the seedings for state, until the decision making group runs into teams from the same district, then the ol' dartboard comes out. The SM game was something-that field was a joke. Forwards would lose the ball in the sinkhole at midfield, and then slide 10 feet afterwards. Scoring anything was next to impossible so we thought, but that team came together and worked it's usual 'when it matters' magic. I think a lot of people wrote us off this year, but our goalie is MUCH improved and the team overall is a better team than some scores would indicate.
  9. CCS jumps multiple spots to the #1 ranking, last week, but yet is not the #1 team in their own district. With a nod to Booger
  10. The entire playoff system needs to be revamped for basketball and soccer. At least soccer only takes the top 2 teams to Regionals and Sectionals. However, in both sports, you can lose two games (District and Regional Championships) and still win State. That is just stupid and crazy. To take it even further, you can lose the District and Region Championships, to the same team--then play that same team for the State Championship. Should the team that has already lost 2 games win the State Championship-that would take away everything else that was accomplished. What these teams did was of course the stupidest thing they could do. Shooting at your own goal, and trying to defend a team shoot at it's own goal-they all got what they deserved. C'mon TSSAA--make some changes. Can't be that hard!!
  11. So tired of your poor poor me postings. Move on already.
