  1. Congratulations on the silver ball Coalfield! UC looks forward to cheering Stewart on at UT!
  2. Union City plays by the rules, I assure you of that. Your accusations are ridiculous. I do believe this thread is not for bashing UC.
  3. We were certainly proud for our 1A high school to be in the top ten ACT scores in the state. I would say that 13 or 14 seniors in the class of 2015 have a score of 30+. There are around 12 that have a 21+. There are around 75 students in that class. As for our football players, they are a great group of boys. You cannot compliment one of them without them giving credit to their other teammates. Coach Bowling has certainly instilled great character in them. They are quite humble and well-mannered. I would have to say that some of our fans could learn a lesson from their behavior. Haha! Of course they love the compliments, praise, and all the accolades that come with being champions, but they would not appreciate braggy cockiness coming from fans.
  4. Thank you so much for saying this. I am a true UC fan - I support them when they are winning, and I'm there when they are losing. UCHS has a tremendous amount of success right now. Not only the football team, but our girls' basketball team won the state championship last year. The boys' basketball team lost the sub-regional game last year. Our tennis team went to state for team and individual competition. Two students placed at state in track and field. Our school was also on the top ten schools in Tennessee for high ACT scores. Our AP scores were above the state, national, and global average. Our band is award -winning as well. Our fans have alot to be proud of, that's for sure, but it does bother me to see fans become unsportsmanlike on CoachT. Coalfield has alot to be proud of, too! They made it to state, and they have the same chance to win that we do - we were certainly the underdogs against South Pitt in 2009. I sat in the stands and watched our Tornadoes get pounded and run in the ground at the state game at MTSU (Big Swo will have to help me in recalling who we played and what year that was) With this being said, I don't want to see these boys go on the field with anger and madness. It makes me think of Forrest Whittaker's character, Jefferson in the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" seeing his 78 Camero destroyed and body-slamming the entire opposing team. We certainly don't need any "Jeff Spicoli's" on here stirring the pot. This game will be a good one, that's for sure. May both teams play the best to their ability, and make fans on both sides proud to see their favorite teams at state! What a memory for these kids! Go Tornadoes!
  5. That's right - my mistake. They were really good that year. I think they lost the game right at the end.
  6. I whole heartedly agree. UCMS' coach is a fantastic and a wonderful role model to the boys on his team. He instills character, discipline, and certainly prepares his team for high school. He is certainly one of the building blocks of our success.
  7. OC made it to the semifinals in 2011. In fact, when we played them, they beat us. Their coach at this time left last year, and a new coach took over this year. They were a powerhouse group in 2009 - 2011. Three of their players now were wonderful football players at UCMS - two of them were named All-District players. One is a junior and the other two are sophmores.
  8. Good one. When the 32 of the 37 on the team registered for kindergarten at Union City Elem School, they went through a rigorous football assessment along with their kindergarten screenings. Bigdumbdan knows our secret now.
  9. As I have said before bigdan, you are mistaken. 37 on UCHS football team this year 32 of these boys have been in the Union City School System since Kindergarten - the juniors on the team have played together since the 3rd grade in the Jr Tornado Football program - they were undefeated. They were also undefeated at UCMS their 8th grade year That leaves 5...... 2 of those began school in 6th grade at UCMS because they moved to UC from out of state That leaves 3.... 3 came to UCHS as freshmen from OC schools - one is a freshman now....the other 2 are juniors So this means 1 student on the team roster this year transferred to UC from OC........ ONE.... 0 students transferred last year from OC to play football Tempers flared because you are talking out of the side of your neck.
  10. As I have said before bigdan, you are mistaken. 37 on UCHS football team 32 of these boys have been in the Union City School System since Kindergarten - the juniors on the team have played together since the 3rd grade in the Jr Tornado Football program - they were undefeated. They were also undefeated at UCMS their 8th grade year That leaves 5...... 2 of those began school in 6th grade at UCMS because they moved to UC from out of state 3 came to UCHS as freshmen from OC schools - one is a freshman now....the other 2 are juniors So this means 1 student on the team roster this year transferred to UC from OC........ ONE.... Numerous UC students have transferred to OC.....More transfer to OC than those that transfer to UC. The MAIN reason students transfer is due to our academics. We have a successful magnet program at our school and offer AP courses. Everytime you post something about our school cheating or that we steer students to us for football is ridiculous. In all honesty, the more you say, the more stupid you look. Bottom line - you have said UC would lose the past couple of weeks and we proved you wrong. Our team is good and you know they are. You are thinking of every reason to not eat the crow you so rightfully deserve. You know nothing about UC except for the fact that we stomped your behind.
  11. I agree with you. NCS was awesome and the UC vs Dresden was a great game, too. We should be proud of 1A football in the West! Union City, Humboldt, Dresden, Trenton, Huntingdon - We definitely have talent on this side of the state!
  12. I'm sorry Bigdan, but you are mistaken. The football players at UCHS have been students in the UC school system since they were in elementary school. There are 37 total on the football team. Out of that 37, 5 did not attend school at UC Elementary School. 2 of the 5 started school in the UC system at UCMS in the 6th grade (both of these moved in UC from out of state). The other 3 students began school at UCHS as freshmen. One of them is a freshman now, and the other two are Juniors. All 3 came from elementary schools in the OC system. All 5 elementary schools in the OC system are K-8. The two Juniors are starters on the team now. We do not purposely keep enrollment down for football purposes. We are a small school system within a large county. In fact, the UC school system has many students transfer to the OC school system each year. OCCHS currently has three players on their football team that played football at UCMS, but moved to OC their freshman year - one of them is a Junior and the other two are Sophmores. In addition to a successful football program, our other sport teams do very well from UCHS. Our girls basketball team won the silver ball last year at State, and our boys team did well in the playoffs, too. Our baseball team lost the game before advancing to State last year. Our tennis team made it to State, but did not win. Our band program is award-winning and won several band contests including the Bands of America in St. Louis this year. As far as academics, we do very well, too. Our graduating senior class last year was in the top 7 school systems in the state of Tennessee for achieving high ACT scores. (The senior class had less than around 120 students) The UC school system is very small, but we accomplish great things. Our school motto is Excellence - Our heritage, Our committment. Our students work hard in everything they do. We do not cheat to prosper at all.
  13. He is the younger half brother to #25. He decided in 8th grade to go to OCCHS instead of UCHS. He is talented, and it would be great to see him back in purple and gold. They have another half brother who is a senior that plays basketball. Would love for him to play football because he is FAST!
