  1. Just my opinion but I don't think 42 will be averaging 4 a carry, unless he happens to break one for 35 or 40. D Line will have to control the UC push and make plays near the line. We need to control the misdirection and get a handle on the QB. We did good with the dive plays last year but the QB gave us fits. We definitely need UC to get in a hurry and put it on the ground a few times. Only real fear for the game is getting behind and going away from the run. If we have to pass most every down, it will probably get ugly. QB play for NCS will play a huge role in the outcome of the game. I hope he is ready for the big stage. I also hear a lot about our kicker being able to place kicks at the 5 or so yard line. I hope he kicks it another 6 yards this week and makes UC start at the 20. There is no point in defending those kick returns if you don't have to. No doubt NCS will need to be near flawless to be in it at the end. I guess we'll find out soon.
  2. CPA is a team coached in every aspect of the game. They would have eaten east alive. Especially on special teams. Everyone tries to forget the 1st quarter and a half of their next game, when Upton did play and was down 16-0 when he exited with the team having achieved negative yardage in 4 drives to that point. Deer in the headlights.
  3. If I was any opponent of PC, I would spend some time studying the game against East. It makes no sense how a team as strong as PC could go down to East. They must have had something figured out, or maybe PC just had a bad night. No excuse for losing that game.
  4. UC finishes all those drives that others don't. We need to hold them to 23 and hope we get 24. 7 ain't happening. I would bet every team in 6A they could score 14 and would win more than I lost.
  5. Here's how it really went. While they would have definitely had a better chance, they were doing nothing with him in the game. He went out after the fourth possession, several minutes into the 2nd quarter. They had 1 yard in his four possessions. Count the yardage lost on the fumbles and they had about -10. 1st Drive QB Rush -3 yards QB Sacked -3 yards Fumble leads to safety 2nd Drive 3 and out with QB 1-2 passing for 2 yards 3rd Drive 4 plays totaling 3 yards ending in a fumble QB Rush 0 yards QB Rush 6 yards QB Rush -5 yards Fumble 4th Drive 3 and Out for 2 yards QB Rush for 0 yards
  6. I read earlier in the thread that NCS lost three players from last years team. Here's a little more realistic look at what they lost: 58 Starter on the O Line 8 Starter on O and D 81 Teams leading WR and return man 52 OL and all state linebacker 16 QB and all state defensive back 44 Has about 15 sacks this year at Hillsboro There were a few others that played a lesser role. The top four tacklers from our last meeting are on this list as well. Needless to say, there has been a little more to overcome for NCS to get back to where they are which would make an upset a little sweeter. I hope the Eagles can hang close and pull it off.
  7. I think football was an afterthought a few years ago. He just keeps getting bigger. He is a phenomenal basketball player. He will make some jaws drop when they see the 300 pounder handle the rock and drop 3's. As his football IQ gets to that of his basketball IQ, he will be an absolute force. Everybody is really proud of his progress and looking forward to his next few years.
  8. He may have climbed over 300. Started around 290 but football hasn't slimmed him down. He doesn't miss any meals, or seconds.
  9. The defense really has improved. The veer fools everyone at some point, but they will be disciplined and try their best to get the ball. Mr. Football nominee ran 21 times for 64 yards last year and put it on the ground several times. He broke one for 22 but was otherwise stopped near the line. The middle shouldn't be biggest issue, although it certainly could be. In my opinion, It will be the misdirection or timely passing that causes the biggest problems. We are much better on the edges this year but that's been the case against inferior talent. But hey, the Collinwood fella seems to know darn near everything, so our boys may just run in circles. That sounds like a solid plan?
  10. Not even close pal. You appear to know everything about everyone. No point trying to reason with you.
  11. Man I hope he's not 340. He'll be starting basketball two weeks from tomorrow. That may be rough at 340.
  12. I'm still puzzled how 44 from last year is getting to play this year right down the road.
  13. Yes. Only way to avoid is to come in as a freshman. Doesn't matter where you play middle school. You can apply for a hardship but I would assume they are hard to get.
  14. The school was there well before they became winners on the football field. One thing is certain, it's definitely free to be a loser, if you so choose.
  15. Here's a spot for all of you that keep getting on the threads of those teams that are still playing. Spread your hate on here, and let the fans of those teams still practicing on Thanksgiving day talk about the games on their threads.
  16. Nice post hog. Only many parents at NCS don't have that extra money. They spend it to make sure their kids get a good education at a nice school. My kids are zoned for Hillwood, a school that is outdated by 25 years. They swap coaches regularly and as a whole, there is no pride in athletics. There facilities are embarrassing for the the neighborhood they are in. There is more money within 5 miles of the school than you can count. Put yourself in someone else's shoes, cause the tuition I pay takes a lot of other things away. Sometimes you have to do what's best for your kid. It's obvious you're not a UC fan, just another fan of a team that didn't make it.
  17. Congratulations, you just described what would happen to nearly every 1A team. However, I could pull five off NCS and one off CA, and NCS would still likely win a close game.
  18. I like you wildcat, but you're starting to sound like a little girl. The we make no excuses and play anybody attitude I heard a few weeks ago has been downgraded to constant crying. I hope y'all are not instilling this attitude in your youngsters. It's a mindset that does nothing but harm those young men. I never heard a peep in 2011. Only bring it on.
  19. In fairness, I'm assuming he meant the very end of the game. It was after all one play away from mass chaos. If he meant the rest of the game, well... You know it was an up hill battle. What an effort on behalf of our QB in the 2nd half. He could walk away from football with absolutely no regrets. As for the question about who was lost to graduation, he was one of those players.
