Like week two we know nothing about the Hawk team out of Memphis. Any Hawk posters out there?

As I expected, a tough hard fought game. We still have a few mistakes to address and adjustments to make. However, much improved over the first two games. Even from the first half to the second half the improvement was evident. Our defense has started to gel. Glad to see some passing. Our line needs a little work on pass protection, but that game is outside our norm. Atlas is right, this game may be a defining moment in our season. Proud of our boys.

Looks about right. Way I see it is all of these teams are about average at this point, with none being excellent. The pack will separate in about 3 weeks.

I'm hearing a weather report of possible heavy rain Friday. Could be a factor.

The tools are there and one more will be added in a couple weeks. They just need to be sharpened. By playoffs we'll have a razors edge. As for Mayfield, excellent team incredible coaching. Peabody sounds much improved over last year. This match up is always a battle no different this year. Trollowar, idiot.

Very interesting! Kinda supports the point I was trying to lead everyone to. Could it be that numbers are down in so many programs because of burn out? I've known youth league teams to play a 16 game schedule. They're done with the game before they even get to Middle School. Our High School takes 4 weeks of (mandated by T$$AA) plus what ever time they get for Christmas break. I know coaches have a tough sometimes thankless job, but it's time to start working smarter not harder. JMO.

Size multiplier? Don't let the T$$AA get hold of that idea. They'll double the classifications and everybody makes the playoffs. They'll make million$.

Caught practice yesterday. Seemed be a good attitude all around. Adjustments and changes have been made (as to be expected). Our boys have bounced back well. Big life lesson learned. We'll be ready tomorrow night. I expect we'll play with a little anger as well.

Successful program. What kind of youth league program do you have?

I hear a lot of talk about low numbers everywhere. Sign of the times? Maybe the love winning has exceeded the love for the game, especially for the traditionally less successful programs. Or maybe because it's a year round commitment now. Thoughts?

Not a good showing in that scrimmage for sure. But in our defense, the boys were on their way home from the toughest camp they had ever been through. They were completely exhausted before they stepped off the bus. As for the Mayfield game, we made a lot of mistakes and the Cardinals are really good.

Yeah, no one else has either. Kind of tells you what kind of night we had. 2013 started out eerily the same way. But that season turned out ok.

No rebuilding going on. Just one of those games where a lot went wrong and all you could do is hold on. The performance we had against Haywood Co in the Jamboree the week before and the Mayfield game was night and day difference. I'm starting to think our new friends from Mayfield brought some weird Graves Co mojo with them. Hope they took it back with them. Much respect to the Cardinals. If anyone out there loves high school football, go see them play if you ever have a chance.

Unless you've seen Mayfield operate then you don't get it. I use the word operate for a reason, they're a finely tuned machine. No excuses from us (UC). We played poorly and made a lot of mistakes at critical times and still managed 300+ yards of offense. So, we'll correct our issues and be ready for whom ever comes calling.

Look, we don't care about rankings. It doesn't mean a thing, just gives people something to argue about. We'll be playing our best ball come November. As long as we're healthy. Ready when all the chips are on the table. And I like the hand we're holding.

I hate to hear that. Tough for the kids that love the game. Any idea on what type of offense they run? I understand they have a new head coach.
