  1. Was at Robertsville and Jefferson game last night. The future looks very bright. With all the RB's coming up there what are the Wildcats going to do? You have Jones, Allison, and Nickerson returning and anyone of them could start at any time. The JV player #10 Kimbro is darn good too and the freshman Simpson is good on highlights. I know it's middle school but the three kids coming up 2 from #6 and #7 from RMS and #22 from JMS are not shabby either. I think the the 2 RMS kids are as fast as anyone in the backfield now. A lot of athletes on the field. #2 for JMS is a good leader and heck of a defensive guy and the QB for RMS throws a good ball. I was impressed with both teams although the score seemed lopsided.
  2. I seen their secondary looks small. Higgins sighting!!!! Was impressed with Oak Ridge Running the ball in 2nd half. I watched the playback twice and I can see their offense has a lot of variation. If they load the play off the WR they throw quick screens, If they stunt the middle they run the speed sweep. I can say I'm much more impress with play calling this year. But the screen games need to be executed. They were called at right time but the blocking wasn't good. Sometimes they just let defenders go. Oak ridge 44-13
  3. That's probably were I will be Friday. This is going to be a great atmosphere on Rocky Top!!!
  4. Lastly was at Maryville and West game. Would love for them to play over and over again.
  5. Clinton was very impressive and well coached. Oak Ridge has weapons all over the field and on the sideline offensively. Week 4-5 you can tell how good Oak Ridge will be. I was suppose to be out of town watching a high school game but was glad I came to the Clinton vs Oak Ridge game. Great atmosphere and being a veteran I would like to thank Clinton for what they did. It was great. Didn't like the pants but understood the message. Great job great game.
  6. WOW!!! By the way Maryville players taunt too. So does DeLaSalle and CAK and Catholic and dang sure Grace (all Religious based schools). Butch Jones is good coach and a respectful guy but I seen a few of his players jumping around after big hits. Fellas the key thing is after the game you seen players smiling and hugging each other. I even seen the big guy from Oak Ridge and the guy that was the transfer hugging each other smiling and laughing. As they were coming into the locker room, one player from Oak Ridge said to a Clinton player call me in about 30 minutes. So I think these kids are good kid having fun. Don't forget it's a game. By the way Alabama versus Ole Miss quarterback Walter Lewis went down sideline and pointed at a guy trying to catch him on a play. Also Cornelious Bennett made a big big sack and did home run swing. so it happens. But maybe I'm the only one that's old enough to know this.
  7. This is what I found out. Middleton and Woods situation totally different. Middleton is making a legal move with his mother who was his guardian when he started his athletic record in high school. Woods moved in with a guardian not his mother when he started his athletic record in high school. If the guardian moved to Clinton he would have been eligible. Office H2O talk Middleton wanted to come to Oak Ridge some time ago honestly to play basketball with Coach Green. He actually has a lot of friends on the team.
  8. Sweet and FHS made good points. The people you are around has a lot to do with how you deal with expectations. Vic Wharton doesn't have the cleanest record of staying on teams but he found a team and it fit. BR Coach Blade kept him on the team and he dealt with him. When you bring up Pac-Man you also have to bring up Randy Moss and his time with New England. It's about your surroundings and the expectations of the people there. I'm military so I know we hadkids that came from all source of lifestyles but because of the expectations many (not all) conformed.
  9. That will be chatter around the office water cooler. Can't wait to go to work to ask my Knoxville buddies about this one. Wow to Oak Ridge!!! What's the connection? Didn't someone say his uncle lived in Oak Ridge. So if that's the case he will not be eligible. Once again if the kid moved with his guardian that he started his athletic record, he can begin practicing once he is registered in school.
  10. Shag love your post on Oak Ridge thread. lol. But its sad for the kid. Hopefully someone can help this kid find a place to play. Is he still a UT commit?
  11. Just to clarify when I said sad adults think about themselves this was not toward the guardian or the mother this was more so toward the coach that brought him to LC (then got him back to Clinton) even though his intent may not have been to hurt the kid.
  12. This is what a coach told me today about the kid. He said only way he is eligible to play at Clinton is if whoever he lived with and had guardianship of him when he started his an athletic record was to move to Clinton then he is available to play. Even though he would move back with his mother because she was not the initial guardian during the time he started his athletic record at LCHS then he is declared ineligible. So maybe that person moves to Clinton but I hear she/he/they do not wish to. Sad when adults do thing for them and not whats best for the kid. Does anyone have any other solutions of where he can play this year?
  13. I don't know how much you can tell from 7 on 7 scrimmages but a good friend watched Oak Ridge at Catholic this morning and was very impressed with Oak Ridge. His observation was their offense was very explosive. Their skill sets are all fast and good athletes. He was amazed at how many players touch the ball and can make plays with it. I heard same thing at Maryville College pass league. If their QBs can not make mistakes and their able to run the football they could make a serious run. Their line looks big at practice.
  14. BR this is a man's life. If he is guilty then the high school should have investigated this. From my understanding the high school administration was left out the loop. It's scary when a kid or group of kids can say something about a teacher and they have no way to defend themself.
  15. Well can say this cause my grandson goes to the school. Many students say it was a rush to judgement. The high school was not involved at all. The administration did not even give him a chance to hear evidence. From what the kids say it was a misunderstanding from a hack on facebook. The reason why he went public is he getting ready to sue. Internet is so easy to prove. BR just talks. If he did something inappropriate to a student this wouldn't be a school case it would be a criminal case. My co-worker knows him and family. The police report shows no wrong doing. But this is all hearsay.
  16. BR read up on At Will. Secondly how can you be accused of something and still let go for At-Will. Once they said investigation, due process should be giving.
  17. Governor and space good games. I am very excited about the games I'm going to see. I am hoping to get a luxury Winnebego not this season but next. Retire in 3 years. Then I will invite you guys to travel with me to go to high school games and then college game in that area the next day and NFL game in the area that Sunday. What do you think about that? My buddy does this and I went one time in 2010. Went to see Westfield in Chantilly VA, then to see UVA get killed by UNC and then watched Sunday Washington Redskins get destroyed by Peyton and Colts. Needless to say the next week had to stay home and rake leaves.
  18. When you ask about speed do you mean 40 times or big play ability. I remember when stationed in Jacksonville a player named Peter Warrick played HS football and probably ran high 4.7 but didn't get caught cause he could cut at same speed he was running. OR has speed. Most teams they played had 2 safeties so It's tough to get big runs. But they did have big runs where the player didn't get caught. The Rowe kid was fast (I know he's moved). Jones has good speed but sometimes hesitates due to youth at the position, Higgins, Mitchell, and Bonds have home run capabilities. The new kid from Maryville seems to have it along with Allison. So they have field speed offensively.
  19. Prevo was 18 and his brother was 19 at time of incident.
  20. Are the Wildcats in Dead Period, I think it is called.
  21. When will we get back on Oak Ridge football. I guess we're like the national media, when there is nothing of substance to talk about we beat up on somebody that has nothing to do with important news about the subject at hand.
  22. SS I can see that. Why would BR do that? Are better yet I pose that question to BR. That makes sense SS. I try to give an older broader view. I too hate to see posters put kids down. I hate them putting coaches down. I do however expect critiques which is same as criticize both. But never personal.
  23. Prevo is actually 19. And yes it is funny. And yes he is a grown man or at least made a grown man decision. When he did it he went to grown man jail not youth detention facility. I hate you think life is pathetic but it is life. I remember something about sensitivity in earlier post. If we can't have a little satire on this board then we're all too sensitive. BR that was clever and funny and fit the response. I personally think Pac Man is not a terrible person and should speak on making the wrong decisions and how to come through it. I also hope Prevo goes to school and make good on all his abilities. His mistake(s) will be forgotten (except from BR). So SS don't be hypocritical. ##castthefirststone
