  1. I have had the privilege of coaching him at the youth level and at the middle school level. He is very intelligent and extremely coachable. I have no doubt that with proper coaching he can be an outstanding QB in any system.
  2. Yes and I also called South Middle School "Franklin South". Sorry about that.
  3. Boss has lost a lot of weight and should be a solid RB. Patterson was the top returning receiver and is a playmaker at safety. Ball the mike linebacker was all over the field Saturday night. He is going to be a stud this year.
  4. They looked good I thought, held their own. Soddy Daisy was bigger but we didn't get pushed around. They had 2 big plays on us, both sweeps to the right side. We made 3 or 4 turnovers that really hurt and we got flagged a lot.
  5. Final score was 25-14 Soddy Daisy. They scored 18 points quick in the first quarter. They got a big run the first time they got the ball and scored. Then next we threw an INT for another easy TD. They scored another1st quarter TD off of a turnover. We played them tough the rest of the way. Passing game was bad but Backup qb made a lot of big runs.
  6. They are at Soddy Daisy next Saturday the 17th at 7pm their time.
  7. I expect Jennings will put it up more and the running game to be north and south.
  8. Yes. He told the coaches about 2 weeks ago and hasn't practiced since. Boss will likely be #1 RB when baseball is over
  9. There is only a few weeks remaining in the school year and he is finishing the year at DC.
  10. #29. He will be a sophomore this next season. Plays RB/LB. Only got in in JV games last year. Might get a little playing time this year and maybe start the next year.
  11. I would be happy to be wrong about this.
  12. Week before last. Still in school now but will move this summer when he turns 18. My son is on the team.
  13. The financial statements were posted on the bulletin board at the concession stands the whole season this past year. Referee fees eat most of the concession/gate fees. The only day I counted the money, there was over $700 taken in and over $600 spent paying the refs. The difference was $159, that day. That doesn't count weekly fees to empty the porta johns, pay electric bill, buy gas/paint/supplies for mowing and maintaining the field,....etc. Over half of the registration fees go to insurance. There is just not much money left. There is plenty of room for our youth league to improve in a lot of ways. The current board members are far from perfect but I do not see anyone else showing up long before the season starts and doing the crappy jobs no one else will do. No one else in Warren Co cares enough about youth football to do all the ground work required to start a "better" youth football league. And even if someone did start another competing organization, who are they going to play? Field 2 teams and play each other 3 times for a season with the same team winning every time? Or go to Murfreesboro/Nashville and try to compete with established programs and get bashed? The only way to make youth football better in Warren Co is to get involved with the current Pioneer Youth Football League and work from the inside to make things better. At least this is my opinion.
  14. Yes. I'm sure. It doesn't belong in this thread but the old thread got shut down by coach t. You said it sounded fishy then so I wanted to reply when it happened. Sorry, for throwing a tangent in this thread. I truly hope DC has a great season and wins the district this year. Worried about that trip to Livingston though.
  15. Your RB quit the team like I told you a few months ago.
  16. If Coach Smith is as good as advertised, it might be closer than you think. WC has talent. The big problems are discipline and organization. A previous state champion coach with experience in building programs should fix a lot of those problems fast. We will see. I agree that with 10 starters back on offense and 9 on defense, DC will be a tough first game for the new coach. Milan may have to go home to Smith Co when he turns 18. I hope he works things out and he gets to stay though.
  17. Where is the like button? I want to hit the like button for this post. I sure hope you are right about the next coach.
