Dubois, Humboldt, Peabody Note: Hollow Rock-Bruceton could be a candidate for Region 5, but I kept it in Region 7 due to its close proximity to other schools in that region. After about 2 1/2 hours of careful deliberation, this is what I got. I'm not sure if the TSSAA will go for 9-team districts, but there are three here because of very long distances between some of these schools. All of 1A is a complete mess, with way too many in West TN and Southwest Middle TN and too few in far East TN. Concord Christian and Moore County could fit in other regions. I wasn't sure what to do with West and Middle TN in 2A, so I made an educated guesstimate. Regions 2-6 in 3A may be a tad off in places, and the same for Regions 3-6 in 4A. I'm not too confident with 5A. When Gibbs moved up, it left South Doyle as an outlier that didn't fit with the other schools without overloading the region. But, I moved Gibbs east and let South Doyle stay because Gibbs is already a little northeast of Knoxville (TSSAA may do the opposite). I also had several problems placing Regions 4-6 in 5A. The 5A schools in the middle of the state are grouped in Sumner, Davidson, NW Rutherford, Williamson, and Maury, but also include the outliers White (which is way out by itself), Franklin, Lincoln, and Shelbyville. Those three regions were tricky. Lastly, my 6A projection is the same as every other one I've seen. Bradley Central gets to drive hundreds of miles to the Johnson City area, Wilson County schools play Nashville teams and Franklin, and the Rutherford County powerhouses get to run over the usually embarrassing teams of Coffee and Warren, as well as Cookeville. Please feel free to criticize or praise these projections. I might have gotten some things correct, but I'm sure I've messed up in numerous places.

From an Upper Cumberland perspective, this would split current District 8-AA teams off into 4 different regions. Assuming these projections are pretty accurate, Livingston and Macon would remain in 4A and play teams such as Maplewood, Portland, White House, and Whites Creek. DeKalb could or could not be pushed down to 3A (they are right on the borderline), possibly retaining Upperman and Cannon and adding teams like Marshall and Giles counties along with Page and Fairview from Williamson County. Smith could possibly get pushed down to 2A, with Cascade, Community, Eagleville, Forrest, and Jackson Co. Meanwhile, York is caught in between, with the only possibilities of either being added to Upperman's region or to a region with teams from Knox and Sevier counties (CAK, Pigeon Forge, Gat.-Pitt.) as well as Loudon, Kingston, Scott, and Claiborne. Talk about a long way to travel for all of these 8-AA teams...

DeKalb had sort of a rough DH against Grundy. In the first game, they came from behind twice thanks to two way out of the park home runs to barely win it 5 to 4. The second game was a little easier, with DC winning 10 to 4.

Moore County, Baylor, Seymour, Chatt. Christian, and Marion County look like some of the top teams besides DeKalb. Hopefully DC doesn't come across Baylor.

Looks like DeKalb should be able to finish out the regular games without a loss, but they have that Coffee County Tournament April 25 and 26. I understand there are going to be some pretty good teams there. Looking past that, I am pretty confident that they can win the district, regional, and sectional. Regions 3 and 4 appear to be nothing special, besides Polk County (R3) and Cannon, who look pretty good.

DeKalb County will be there as well. Looks like they might run out of luck. Lots of good teams.
