Fishing is great this time of the year, cool mornings mid 70's in the afternoons, it doesn't get any better. Listening to all the Saturday morning QB's in Region 4 is always better than the biggest fishing story I could ever tell, but with that being said I am ready to pick week 11 games. Tullahoma travels to Giles County: It has been a long, long 2 years for Coach Olive and staff and the Bobcats are not going to let up on his team this week. Giles County with a running clock in the second half. Marshall County at Page: this game is for the Region 4 A championship all indicators point to Marshall County by 17 points, but Coach Rathbone and staff are planning a few surprises for visitors from the South, so the Big Tuna is not ready to hand the game over to Marshall County. Marshall County wins! Now for the game of the week: Lawrence County at Spring Hill; this game is for the number 4 spot in Region 4 and a trip to Stone Memorial. I am picking Spring Hill to beat Lawrence County by 14 points. With this win; will Spring Hill be ready to make some noise in the playoffs???? Best of luck to all and stay healthy, Wicked Tuna

That being said I am leaning toward Giles County. Now an update on Region 3: no matter the outcomes on this Friday Region 3 is set in stone. 1. Stone Memorial 2. Hixson 3. Chattanooga Central 4. East Hamilton

I talked with a coach from the Knoxville area over the weekend, and he says the Knoxville teams are not going to play Catholic and that TSSAA is going to put them in the Region that they have to travel the most. That being said it looks like Catholic may have to schedule Alcoa, Maryville, Greenville, Baylor, McCallie, and Notre Dame in order to get a 10 game schedule for the next 2 years.

Congrats to Marshall, Giles, and Page for week 10 wins last night. Hats off to Spring Hill for a hard fought game against Lipscomb, BooWho should be proud. The big game this week for the Big Tuna is Lawrence County vs Spring Hill; whoever wins will be our number 4 team for Region 4A and will have to travel to Stone Memorial for the 1st round of the playoffs. Good luck to both teams.

I talked with a coach who talked with another coach who said that Giles is staying in 3A. So much for a credible source! (lol) Not that coaches don't always tell the truth.

Now they are saying Alcoa is not moving up, Oh well I guess 3A state championship just got harder to win for everybody else!!!!!

With Alcoa moving to 4A it just opened the door for 3A state championships; Giles is staying in 3A.

Thanks for the information: after reading other post it looks like Walker Valley will also stay 5A we will wait and see on the others.

The Big Tuna knows that all these questions will be answered in the next few weeks but until that happens I will provide some suggestions along the way! 5A to 6A: Gallatin to play in the same Region with Hendersonville Southwind to play with Whitehaven Summit to play in with Independence, Brentwood, Centennial, Ravenwood Walker Valley to play in with Bradley and Cleveland 4A to 5A Seymour to play in same Region with Sevier County Sequoyah to play in with Lenior City East Hamilton to play in with Walker Valley and Soddy Daisy Nolensville to play in with Page and Summit These are just a few but if you know of any making the move up please post it to keep all informed!!! The Big Tuna has notice a lot of talk about the week 11 game between MC and Page but the last time I check my calendar; this Friday is October 21st week 10 of the high school football so hopefully both teams are preparing for tomorrow night's game. Maplewood at Marshall County - MC 45-14 Spring Hill at Lipscomb - Lipscomb 28-21 Lewis County at Lawrence County LC - 35-21 (I don't know who will win) Tullahoma at Pearl Cohn - Pearl 48-7 Giles County at Signal Mt - Giles 49-14 White House at Page - Page 49-7 Best of luck to all Region 4 teams!!!!! Point taken: Franklin Co to Region 5 It might be better to drop Knox Catholic to Region 4 and move White County to Region 5 also.

In 2 years Nolensville numbers will bump them up to 5A (20% increase) it would be smart for them just to move on up now so they will be developing rivals over the next 4 years.

Updated 1st Round match ups against Region 4: Winner of Marshall County and Page will host East Hamilton Loser will host Chattanooga Central Hixson will host Giles County Stone Memorial will host the winner of Spring Hill vs Lawrence County

Looks like the West is wide open and the state championship game will be played in the quarterfinals each year with Greenville and Fulton. Giles County needs to move up to 4A to bring in more balance and competition for Marshall County.

The game of the week in Region 4: Page at Giles County!!! The Winner of this game will get to host a 1st round playoff game against Region 3 which more than likely will be East Hamilton. It is going to take great senior leadership to rally the team thru hard times during this game; not everything is going to go your way. The team who has the fewest turnovers and plays aggressive tough defense has the best chance of winning. The Big Tuna is having a hard time on picking a winning score for this game, home team has a slight advantage but Page has won there before; the question is will the defensive staff for Page have a game plan in place to slow down the Bobcat high power passing attack and will the Big Boys up front for Page control the line of scrimmage if not this is going to be a long, long, long night for the Patriots. Good luck to both teams and stay healthy for the playoffs.

Region 4 has 2 big games this week with 3 teams locked in for the playoffs, Spring Hill will have to beat Lawrence County in order to get in. Marshall County at Spring Hill: This game will be over in time to see the new season premiere of Gold Rush! Running clock for the second half (Marshall County) Page at Giles County: Let's get 3 yards and a cloud of dust; Page Big Boys up front will control the line of scrimmage as they play keep away from the high powered offense of the Bobcats. But in the end the game will come down to turnovers!!!! Giles County takes over second place in the Region 4 with the win. 1st Round Matchups with Region 3: Marshall County - Chatt Central Giles County - East Hamilton Page at Hixson Spring Hill-Lawrence County winner at Stone Memorial

Stone Memorial runs the same offense and defense as Summit; they are well coached but I would pick Summit a little better than them.
