Oak Ridge isn't my team, but for you to say they're too scared to scrimmage Alcoa is dumb. And maybe they did get rolled. Who cares? it was a scrimmage. How many games have you played for Alcoa lately? Some of you fans act like you're the ones who have played in the games. Living vicariously through your local HS team. I just enjoy the game.

They scrimmaged Maryville. Why in the world would they be afraid to scrimmage Alcoa? Get over yourself. That's just silly.

I doubt Maryville would play Alcoa if they were Farragut, Oak Ridge, and Bearden etc etc also. Too much risk and zero gain. Only reason why Maryville does is for obvious reasons. They always have. Would be dumb for those teams to schedule a 3A school.

Now that's funny.

I mean it's a rivalry, but it's very lopsided. It's kinda like UT/Vandy. People call it a rivalry, but when the other team has 30+ more wins than the other can you really call it a rivalry rivalry? I think it's a rivalry more for the fact that the 2 schools are within a stones throw of the other and a lot of the folks are probably related etc. Going by the record in the overall history it isn't much of a rivalry in my book. Their has to be prolonged competitiveness over a long period of time. Not just close games, but wins for both teams.

I always find it amusing when people say "oh, Alcoa would beat this 5A school or 6A school handily" Yeah, well Alcoa has more football players on their team than 99% of those bigger schools. For a school that has 500 students their football team makes up dang near a quarter of it alone. Means nothing.

Doesn't matter the size of the school really. When has Mo-town East ever been known for having a great football program? Would you feel the same if they whipped up on that big 6A school Karns a few years ago when they were 6A. Quality of the prgram means everything, not the size.

Yeah I remember 09, too. Didn't he run for over 300 yards that year? A good friend of mines brother played on that Alcoa OL that year.

2010 Alcoa was just the better team. That was a GREAT Alcoa team. Taharin Tyson, Darrel Warren were beasts.

Not sure about that. Neither team impressed me too much. DB had 4 TO's to Farragut's 0 and still won. Had more total yards than Farragut did and they had 22 less plays than Farragut had. Yards per play DB 6.8 Farragut 4.5. Not saying OR will win, but they have a great chance, especially at home.

Welp it looks like Oak Ridge fans have already conceded this game. Guys, I saw the DB/Farragut game last night. DB had nearly 200 yards of penalties 3 turnovers (A few which were in their territory) and STILL won. Yall should be a little bit more confident, unless OR just stinks this year.

Honestly OR looked very mediocre, but I take it with a grain of salt. Some teams that looked good in scrimmages got drilled tonight. Can't never take much away from srimmages IMO. I went to hteir scrimmahe against SD and SD handled them pretty good.
