  1. Do you think croslin would be better served at the d1 level?
  2. do you think that any of the other White County players have any chance of playing at the next level anywhere?
  3. Either way, i know a few kids, maybe 10-15 that i would say doesn't have Hendersons talent, upside, or skill set and they have been offered D1s or high d2s. im not sure why. But at the same time, i also know that it isnt always about being at a D1. If you find that place that wants you man,it is a good idea to seriously consider them. A coach and i were talking about that just today. There were alonst 700 transfers this year in basketball alone. They mens a lot of young men arent taking the time to find the best place for them. Thats why is think its special what is taking place at some of these small schools in tn lately.
  4. With all due respect, when i mentioned things about the payne kid and the other person on here thought it was not possible,i posted links to show as much as i could. I can't just drop names and schools out of respect and due to my position.i cant tell you with 100% certainty that it will happen. All i can say įs what I've been told. I'm usually close when i go far enough to say something like that but I'm not the one that has to make the offer so you understand that. Recruiting changes by the minute, much less days. Its my job to keep up with these kids and i try to do it well but it's definitely an inexact science. Hey i was the one on here saying i thought payne and Henderson were the 2 most talented kids in the district since jolly. I stand by that. Things ive heard directly from college coaches regarding Henderson: great length, very sweet stroke, more of a 3 than a 2, needs to get stronger, work on defense, high basketball iq, sees the floor very well, needs to improve passing, matchup nightmare, def a D1 prospect. I have no answer as to why no one has pulled trigger with offer yet. Payne: great athleticism, needs to improve ball handing, will be a 2 at next level, really good defender at college level, really good passer, needs to be more consistent on shot, very high upside, D1 prospect. Kind if awkward because any time i talk to a coach about one if them, the other comes up. almost weird. I am aware of an NAIA that said they offered henderson but i am not sure if that is the ones you know of. I am also aware of a D2 that really likes him. I will say this, there are 2 NAIAs, 3 D2s and 1 D1 that i know for a fact want them both.
  5. I wanted to clarify any misunderstanding. I called the coach back and asked him directly. He clearly said; i am making every effort at putting together an offer for both the Payne and Henderson kids. He said he has to clear a few things and he hopes to have an official offer out to both asap. That is pretty much a direct quote.
  6. This was said to be on the table. Notice i said, they were planning on making the offer. The coach said that he was going to make the effort to use the pitch to both from the standpoint of them knowing each other. The offer isnt on the table. It was saidv they are gonna make the pitch. I heard he didnt have any concrete D1s. Still hard to believe that. I think coaches are missing the bus on that kid. Payne did pick up the one that was being tossed around. Are you able to mention school names regarding henderson and the D2s or is that of the table? Completely respect it if it is.
  7. Just spoke with a coach in the C-USA and he is prepping an offer to both the Payne and Henderson kids! Should be official by end of week.
  8. Point being that he has done enough to garner attention from multiple schools.
  9. It will be fun to watch that all play out. Richmond is a great kid by all accounts from what i hear. Character kid that any Bryan type program would be grateful to have to develop. The school i know that has interest though isnt Bryan.
  10. I do know that there is a junior college that is being tossed around in coaching circles that the Payne kid is heavy on. Apparently a pretty big d1 program has made him a offer with the understanding that he attends junior college first. They want him to sit out as a fresh, play as a soph , then transfer in with 3 years remaining to play. That has been presented to the family and im positive about that. Big 10 school, I can say that much. The rest is all rumors. Just what coaches in the state are saying. I did hear something about the richmond kid getting some smaller looks. He is a solid kid, deserves them if he is. I do know of one that likes his shooting ability a ton but it isnt bryan.
  11. As of yesterday, the Payne kid was rumored to be a Bryan lean according to the coach of a fairly decent D2 program that has pursued him rather hard. The coach told me he was down to 2 D1s, 2D2s and Bryan but everyone that knew him said he liked Bryan the most. Who knows.
  12. Ive heard rumors that the Payne kid that went to C Ville last year is also gonna end up at Bryan. They are doing something right down there.
  13. Those guys from Stone were special. Even after them with Simmons, Matthews, and Yoder. Just don't see that a lot. Maybe it will work out for them. Heck half of them still play together down in Dayton.
  14. That core group of freshman you are referring to at CCHA sounds an awful lot like the freshmen group that should have mateialized as seniors this year at C Ville
  15. Alum, my old friend! Poore was clearly the beneficiary of the Parsons kid last season, you can't argue that. But from a development standpoint ive heard good things about him, White Co PG, and Richmond. I've heard some negatives about the Buford kid at CVille. And the White Co PG played against some SERIOUS comp this summer and played WELL. Poore has a good upside. Def needs to be more aggressive. But has the potential to do it.
  16. Every way i evaluate a kid is soley based on a collegiate perspective. Which isnt fair to a vast majority of kids at the high school level. Because of this i tend to overlook some players. However in that district, Henderson, Richmond, White Co PG, and yes Poore is his name, are best players in that district. After that you have about 5 players that are very close in terms of talent.
  17. I think the PG from Cumberland could end up 2nd in the district POY voting though. Very underrated kid. I like White Co PG just a smidget more but PG from CCHS isnt playing along side a D1 player, so he should muster better stats overall.
  18. Hey folks, its your favorite " coach in the loop" lol, I'm only joking. Alumn, i agree on the Richmond kid. Dont think he pushes Henderson but i think he has a great shot at being "runner up" in the district . That kid is drawing some "smaller" college looks! My predictions: White Co RUNS away with district and loses, at most, 1 district game. Not sure they lose one but that is still a huge rivalry with CHS so anything can happen. Im going CCHS/CHS a deadlock for 2nd. I think Stone is 4th at best , with Warren pulling some surprises.
  19. no problem at all. i hope both go d1 and make it as far as possible. i am doing a little digging and trying to find out exact schools with interest or offers to henderson. i know paynes list is growing by the day. a high-ish level d1 is showing serious interest in him as of yesterday. word is they will make offer once all is worked out on a visit date. i cant imagine henderson not having 4 or 5 d1s soon. payne has that now, for the most part. sad them 2 wont match up again.
  20. hey alumn89, too funny. we argued back and forth bout the payne kid and the other guy mentioned the henderson kid. too funny, i was on m twitter feed and came across a very interesting article. they both have articles written on them as two of the better sleeper players in the southeast. it was written by a national basketball recruiting website. they may be a little late on the two as far as updates go because i know the payne kid has offers from 2 of the schools on the list and another d1 not on the list. i know that the henderson kid has interest from a few d1s as well. they have them both listed as no official offers but as players with near offers but i cant speak definitively about hednerson but payne has 3 d1s on the books. told ya the kid was doing it. links below by the way http://www.thehoopscolumn.com/2014/08/17/kordell-henderson-2015-66-white-county-sg/ http://www.thehoopscolumn.com/2014/08/16/cookeville-hs-2015-66-sg-john-payne/
  21. I knew there was another kid but I did not know his name. They have another solid senior also though correct?
  22. That kid is nice as well. Not sure what his plans are for after high school but he will be receiving some naia offers for sure. Has a lot of heart and hustle. Not taking anything away from the Henderson kid because he is clearly a stud but the PG is heart of that team.
  23. I agree about him. He has some real potential. I saw a level of liability on defense with him once over the summer. Only real issue that he has immediate need to address. Could handle ball better. I see him at a " bigger" school. I think they are now clear cut favorite to win the region. I thought and have heard from numerous coaches they are only 2 clear cut division 1 talents in district and possibly region. Will be interesting how both play this season. Henderson with no head to head equal and Payne in a entirely new school and district. Class size also.
  24. Hello 90warrior. I can definitely see both of your point of view but what on base ing this on our college level coaches that I spoke with. notice I did say that I thought he would be better served at the division 2 level but I do know for a fact there were several division 1 coaches that wanted him. funny you mention the Henderson kid I just saw a website that highlighted a video of both him and the Payne kid from this summer. do you think there is any truth to the rumors about the Henderson kids being difficult to coach?
  25. What really makes it impressive, he did it twice in team camp with Good Pasture. Hit 30 once or twice also. The kid had a game in AAU Nationals were he was 8 of 9 from three. Had coaches ranging from Travis Ford to Kermit at MTSU and every level in between ready to offer. Did it consistently for the entire tourney. I actually saw that personally. You sound as though you may have seen him more than I have but when I was evaluating both he and Bates last season and Roper and Ledbetter the previous year, I requested the stat book. Something jumped out at me. That Payne kid has had the highest scoring game each of the last two seasons at C ville as well as the best defensive effort. Was it that he was just inconsistent?
