How ya doing Blaze? We had a good spring and great summer workouts. Really excited about this HHS team. Return 11 starters on D and 8 starters on. We did lose our big 3 on O and time will tell on how well they move forward without them. Have some good running backs that are ready for their opportunity. Line will be the strength as long as they stay healthy. Unfortunately most all the line goes both ways so depth could be an issue. QB is a big tough kid that will lead the offense well and can throw when needed. Have several kids that will have the opportunity to play college ball but prob no FBS talent level kids. The thinking I really like about this team is they love each other and all want to win for one another. Not really any ME kids on this team. They have won a lot together going back through the years and the bond of these seniors should help them a lot. Things seem to be going really well with the new coaching staff. A new positive energy seems to be abound right now. Now will all that be enough to compete with Blackman week 1 and the Rutherford County schools in playoffs? That’s a whole different conversation lol. I guess time will tell. All I’m know is I’m ready to see big 78 strap it on for one final season. Go Commandos

Did Stewart transfer to Wilson Central? Heard he did...no idea if true

Heard he transferred to Wilson Central. Is this true?

A lot of skill players and athletes. Replacing QB and most all of online and dline. Have no doubt Crabtree will have them ready

Its definitely a top 3 heavy league. Id say Mt Juliet will be picked to win and will have Athletes everywhere. Look for Lebanon to be very good. They were way improved last year and they return most of their starters. Hendersonville will have great Senior leadership. They have a large Senior class. Return around 18 starters. They should be very good up front on the offensive line. Will have huge offensive production to replace with losing Hughes, Coker and Dalton but I think they are up for the task. Will have a very good backfield and scoring points shouldn't be a problem. Wilson Central is the wild card. Im sure they will be better Station Camp will continue to rebuild. Rossview....could be a tough season with the loss of so many key players and the transfer of Orr

Those are definitely poor comparisons. Hatfield was certainly not forced out...he just felt it was time. The Commandos ran the wing t before Hat was the head guy and Im pretty sure they will continue to run it in the future. One thing to remember....there are several coaches who are on staff that have been on the staff for 10+ years. a couple have been there 20+ years with Hat. I would assume that the new Coach will be promoted from within and the Commandos will keep doing what they do and doing it well. Hat was a great coach and even greater at molding kids into fine young men. His assistants are cut in the same mold. Hat will certainly be missed but it is good to know that he is stepping away from the program with it in great shape. Should be a fun year next season for whoever gets the job.

Blackman has some definite holes on defense. Mt Juliet has two crazy good corners and stud linebackers and an agressive dline. Makes a huge difference when you dont have to sell out to stop Teauge. I realize that everyone sees Mt Juliet as having played a weak schedule. Our region was not great this year and they scheduled some really weak out of region games. But that D is for real. I think it will by far be the best D HHS has played since they scrimmaged Oakland. Dont get me wrong, I think Blackman still has a great chance to make some real noise in playoffs. If a #1 Mt Juliet or a #1 HHS gets Blackman in the first round....that would be a BRUTAL draw for a 1 seed.

Id take Mt Juliet over Blackman (Now that Teague is out) Cookeville and Riverdale and think it would be a heckuva game against Oakland. Guess we will see soon enough.

The way I see it, Mt Juliet has a great team that has played a weak schedule. They have had zero letdowns and taken care of business every week which did include dominating several quality opponents. When you only give up 23 points in 6A football...you have had a really special 9 game run. Only giving up 23 points means they have quality depth and not much drop off when the second team comes in. That will be huge for their playoff run. We don't need to wait until week 3 or even week 1 of the playoffs. After reviewing film of a few of Mt Juliet's games I can tell you right now that they are a very good football team with with a great chance of bringing home the gold ball.

I am assuming he meant public schools. No way they lose to Hillsboro. Id take them in a close one over Beech. I think Oakland beats them (may see that matchup soon). They could beat MBA....would get smoked by BA.

Yes they are very good. But you've seen them twice and think they are the best team in middle Tennessee? Id say Oakland, Blackman, Cookeville , Cane Ridge and Beech might not agree with you. They may very well end up being the best public team from middle TN but not sure you have seen enough to make that statement.

Do you have a scenario where HHS loses and get the 4th seed? I was thinking that if we lose the worst we could do is 3 and could still get the 2 if Lebanon loses.
