  1. Valid point Swipes. I can still assure you from watching the game that Bob Jones was a very fast paced, well coached, disciplined team that will rival and likely exceed any team that GC will face this year. My point was just that those on here that live for nothing more than to bash GC football will not stop to consider the caliber of opponent that the team faced on Thursday.
  2. Don't try to tell these geniuses on here anything related to common sense. They won't understand.
  3. Maybe I am in the dark but didn't the Eighth graders come to work out with you all when you coached? Was it illegal then? Lol... I don't know what has or has not been violated therefore I cannot answer your questions from your initial post. I bet you won't have to wait long though before all former coaches and their followers share whatever has or has not occurred. Strange through you were quick to post "what you heard" but then you are "too classy" to answer to what I heard? I am not going to get to an argument on here with you and I will certainly decline any meeting with you. I am ready for the former coaches to move on and stop meddling in Bobcat football. As a longtime fan and follower, I want nothing but these boys to have a good, fairly competed season. I certainly hope OC and company will compete fairly. If they are not shame on them. But cheating comes in many forms--- to me, getting paid to coach football and putting in lackluster effort and not preparing your team is cheating too.....good night, sir. I am done with this thread. I am just disappointed to know that you would choose to jump on here at the first opportunity you get when you get "wind of something" from your former coaching buddies and then get offended when somebody resents your pot stirring. Leave these boys alone--- it will be no skin off of you if they get caught in violations. God forbid they work hard and go far this season. They already went through years of not being prepared to win.
  4. Wow Wardawg2038. I am surprised you get any coaching done at your new school for worrying about what is going on at GC. If you are supposed to believe everything you hear, then I guess it is true that you, Walt and crew spent more time at strip clubs and drinking beer than you did at the coaches clinics that you used to attend on football funds. Here is the bottom line- if you, Walt, and crew would have worked harder and spent more time improving your team, then GC football would have never fell off as it did and you all would still be there happily coaching along but instead you all walked off the field every day at 5 and famously quoted that you "just didn't have any talent" and as a result, you were booted out (except you Bc you got out before it happened for "personal reasons"). So why don't you all stop stirring a pot at GC and go on your merry way. TSSAA will keep their eyes on GC and OC and crew and will deal with that program if violations are found. I am sure that if things have been reported, then those filing the complaints are the same ones idly sitting 6th p every day at GC as they have since January while all the while drawing coaches supplements to do nothing. Most of the staff from the past three years couldn't pay any school to let them coach again because they LACK WORK ETHIC. Jesus Christ himself could have come to coach GC football and you all would have found fault because you know you BLEW it and are unwilling to own up to that fact.
  5. The ball didn't come to his side of the field a whole lot but he handled it well when it did. He didn't have a chance for a pick or anything like that.
  6. No I wasn't referring to Langford. And maybe when you have a child, you will realize that football is a lot more than wins and loses and state championship appearances. That is what drives me insane about athletics. Football teaches so much more. Does Walt yell? Yes. Does he always call the best play for a given situation? No. Does he care about the boys on that team? Yes. At the end of the day, is he a lot more concerned about making them into good men than anything else? Yes. Keep singing your OC praise song. His regard for his players lasted only as long as their ability to make him look good. And my point was that some parents want to criticize the coaching staff without looking at their child's role in the whole situation; they don't want their child being disciplined or reprimanded yet they are unwilling to make sure their child acts with decency or in such a manner as to be an asset versus a detriment to the team. But I am finding quickly that in the witch hunt that is Coach T, the only concern at the end of the day is the scoreboard. God forbid we focus on our children and their love of the game.
  7. When did OC play Ensworth? It was my understanding that he entered into the agreement to play and then skipped town. And if you are who I have heard you are Shadowcat, then I would spend less time ranting about the coaches and more time teaching my child discipline since he has earned us numerous penalties but yet you don't want the coaches to discipline him. My rant is now over.
  8. Yeah you are right. We are really no account. Just like last year? Yeah, I would see how you might say that, seeing how we had such a candy schedule, especially during playoffs, and ended up being state runner-ups to such a team as Fulton. Thanks for giving us a much needed reality check! You are now dismissed. ✌ï¸
  9. If Giles County never wins another game, we will be remembered for moments like this, and that means more to me than any gold ball sitting in a trophy case.
  10. Marshall County's zip code is 37901 and for New Market, Alabama is 35761. Find you a home in one of those locations, pull up stakes and take your child to one of our former coaches. I, for one, am sick of that old refrain. We might have done some things differently (and better in your opinion) under O.C. but we also got our butts in a mess with TSSAA because of his actions. HE WALKED AWAY and left his mess- keep worshipping at his table if you want to but do it at MCHS or Buckhorn. Our kids don't need your negativity.
  11. Seems to me as if you need to ask Santa for a dictionary this year, fella. Ask Columbia Central about the huge "holes" in the GC defense. Admittedly we did not have our best night about in Warren Co. Several starters were injured and players were being tried in positions at which they had practiced little. We looked out of shape and listless. However come Friday night at 7:00 at the Brickyard, a different team will take the field. Shame on us for taking a "this is just a scrimmage mentality" last Friday night. I can promise you that an attitude adjustment will be handed out this week during practice. If I remember correctly, your fair Lincoln Co folks predicted we would have a losing season last year after you caught us slipping jn the season opener. Funny I didn't run into any of you all when I was in Cookeville last December? As for last year's group being "O'Connell's" team, well I beg your pardon there. David O'CONNOR walked away for greener pastures (in his opinion) and left Walt Smith a group of boys who were talented indeed but who, with all due respect, were incapable of getting to state playoffs without a good group of coaches to guide them and direct them. Together our players and coaches saw state playoffs together and will give everything they have to see it again. One other note about "O'Connell" , let's not forget the sanctions he left for Smith and his bunch to battle through and the Trojan Horse of a two year agreement to play Ensworth. But go ahead and lay your head on your pillow each night until Friday and dream about handing a butt whipping to the Bobcats.
