  1. I am sure the finalists were deserving, but I feel badly for Allen of J County. She has accomplished so much more than most could say. This season, she is a Co-MVP of District 7a and also 7a's Defensive player of the Year. Dont know the last time someone won both. To make TWSA All State Team for both Bball and Volleyball and lead your team in Points, Rebounds (as a guard primarily), Steals and Blocks. She has brought home Gold and silver in state, scored her thousandth point long ago and is nearly averaging a double double in the toughest district in 7a.
  2. I have to say what i said last year, at the very least Kassidy Allen deserves recognition. This young lady has taken every challenge head on, while playing with incredible sportsmanship. From the time she took the court as a Freshman, starting her FIRST game with Coach Jim Brown, and at the time (with players such as Coe and Hensley) that is impressive in itself. She helped her team to a State Championship, State Runner Up, two out of three district 7a titles, and a region 4a title. Just last year, she led the blue devils in Points, Rebounds, Steals, and Blocks. She is a true leader on the court, and is not only recognized at JCHS. Her basketball career included being named Upper Cumberland Freshman of the Year, to numerous district, region, and Class A all state Teams, and also this past year, to TWSA All state team. Outside of school basketball, she was named the National Blue Chips All Star camp MVP, as well as being listed Rick Bolus High potential Rank on his annual list of high school girls basketball players around the nation. In addition to Basketball, she was named the District 7a MVP for Volleyball and the TWSA all state team for volleyball in 2015. It would be a true shame if such a great athlete goes unrecognized for her high school achievements. Goodluck to everyone out there!
  3. Sorry for being unable to post recently, didn't understand how to operate ad blocker and it kept me from the site. 4. Also, after watching the game, I think that Courtney Pritchett is a phenomenal player. She will perhaps become the best player in recent history from PC, write it down.
  5. The score was clearly indicative that Pickett County played better basketball. No doubt. However, anyone who has ever played a game knows that when call after call is bogus, it messes with you mentally. PC won, that's that. Before, I said I wouldn't say if PC was guilty of "flopping", BUT after watching the game, i can tell you that yes, in fact, they do. At one point, Allen drove in, completely missing a defender, and they fell backwards as if to take a charge. I agree that taking charges is part of the game, but flopping is a Technical. Just my opinion. Hope Allen is OK after her fall though.
  6. I'm feeling that Jackson will upset PC, not sure on margin
  7. How does everyone see this district match up going? Explain.
  8. Couldn't have said it better myself! Tired of the double standard!
  9. and before that JC BEAT Pickett and their place and lost a relatively close game at JC's home court. Keep talking, it's making JC look better every minute.
  10. HAHAHA, I love when people parade like they know facts when they clearly do not. Let me fill you in on some factual information. The last time that Jackson County played Pickett county was in the Livingston Academy gymnasium in the District 7a Semi-final. Jackson County was up by 3 with a matter of SECONDS left, when Jayna ferrell hit the lucky shot. Then, Allen and Flynn sent it into double and triple OT. Please, next time you try to accuse someone of not knowing their facts, do a little bit of research.
  11. Aren't you the one that said a win is a win and a loss a loss. If your logic is right, JC got within a triple overtime of beating PC. Doesn't sound like they are heads and feet above JC after all.
  12. I think that Allen herself silenced you last night. 17 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. She was the main target of Van Buren defense, and it didn't work. Also, we should be talking about how she shut Bouldin down in the first two quarters, keeping her to 6 points i believe. I saw a nasty push in the back by Bouldin to Allen, and I was highly disappointed, but no matter, in roughly three quarters of play, Allen led a great scoring team. Sherrill had 17, and three others were in double digits I believe!
  13. I hate hearing that anyone is injured. I'm confident she will come back for an outstanding Senior season!
  14. Good idea. I haven't had a chance to see any West TN Schools, but have heard some promising things about them this year
  15. Hard to perpetuate nonsense. Sorry you choked first round after a 4 year dry spell.
  16. You're right, they did hit the three. That doesn't mean that one team is ultimately superior to another because of a chance shot like that. No one would argue that Van buren equals Pickett because of a blowout score. Little bit different from a triple overtime win, wouldn't you say? No, you probably wouldn't say because apparently PC was dominant in every way last season due to a lucky shot. Last year, JC was having something that PC has had for multiple years at a time, a building year. It's hard to dominate an entire state in both class A and Class AA without having a year here and there to recoup and strengthen your team. To answer your question with a question, If PC was so good last year, why did they lose to Clarkrange multiple times, and why did they lose to middleton when it mattered? Since you think a win automatically makes you 1000000 times better than the losing team, your loss by one point is just as bad as a blowout apparently. Just remember that Flynn, Allen, and sheryl have a state tournament record of 5-1. They've won district tournaments, region tournament, state tournament, and a runner up ball. I think you may regret writing off one of the best coaches in the state, and some of the best talent just because of a lucky shot.
  17. Their "10 threes a game" wasn't from the opposite end grey line. You can believe it was skill all you want, but I think everyone knows the reality. And you're right. But Jackson County has 3 girls that has won state...and a runner up, compared with Pickett's none. Experience matters. You keep talking about leading Middleton the entire game, but isn't that what happened to PC the entire game before the grey line shot? BTW, just so you know, Jackson County has 2 players that have won all state honors. Allen has won All State tournament TWICE, along with TWSA All State and Cameron Sheryl has won Class A All state tournament. How many all state tournaments does PC have again?
  18. Caliber of teams is important. I seem to remember her scoring the first 8 points of either team against Crange last year, and no one can dispute their caliber. I didn't see her shut down once last year. She was the top scorer in every game, with the possible exception of 1, maybe 2.
  19. Can't be referring to Allen i know, saw her drive to the basket between 3-4 girls and finish strong.
  20. Okay, Let's get real. Jackson would have beaten them 2 out of 3 if not for a lucky shot. Yes, they won and deserve credit, but if you think that shot was skill, you're delusional. BTW, the past doesn't prove anything. The girls for JC have greatly improved as well.
  21. Allen should come into this season STRONG. Read multiple praises of her over the summer. TWSA all state, MVP of the Bluechips Camp, and done well with Flight. Flynn and Sheryl will be great additions to form a great core.
  22. From what I heard, Clarkrange is going to have their work cut out for them. They lost Cooper (Best player IMO), Shaver, and Van Ruden to graduation. I also heard that Lexi smith transfered. I don't see them in the championship. Pickett *should be* the team to beat this year.
  23. IMO, there is no way Pickett gets put out 1st round but you rank them 3rd in the tournament. Clarkrange may have "lost big in the finals", but they actually made it there and that says something.
