I totally agree. At the beginning of the season, the defense was not as good as it was in the past, but lately, it has been atrocious. Creasy will need to replace his defensive coordinator at the end of this season.
Will disagree, just not as good in past years, but dont think its for lack of coaching. Considering what he's been dealt with this season, Watson has done a solid job, at some point it's on the players to execute and I def don't want to make a change

If my coach loses a 21-0 4th quarter lead in quarterfinals he's cleaning out his desk Monday. Worst choke job by a marshall co team since cornersvilles clock management on the final drive in the state championship a few years back.
Fortunately for Marshall County, your not making the decisions

Time to give this rivalry a nickname. I know more about Maryville than I do teams in our own county. Ray Hughes stadium hasn't been the best of hosts to Maryville, but this game represents their best chance since 2017 to get a win in Murfreesboro.
Not sure how people come to the conclusion that Oakland is a big favorite, unless you haven't watched them any, defense is nowhere near up to the usual standard, hoping that changes Friday.
Both offenses seem to be hitting their stride, won't be suprised if this game unfolds much like the last 2 games Oakland has had

First time i saw this score it was 27-7, I thought somebody entered in the wrong score. Hats off to Springfield for a superbly played game, they'll need another performance like that against Page

This team is gonna be the death of me, might have to change our nickname to the Houdinis as often as they've had to come up with some late game magic.
Hats off to Riverdale, that's a great team they have that gave Oakland their best shot.
Death, Taxes and Oakland v. Maryville the day after Thanksgiving

New coach being named and introduced today at 2pm at Indy
If it's being announced this quickly, hard to believe it's anyone other than Blade or Rector

Not many good jobs open. No one wants to leave a school where they actually have athletes & a chance to win.
Not the offseason yet, just give it time

I think they changed that rule a while back because Maryville was always hosting the Semi's because of rank and overall record.
Yep, The Maryville Rule

What effect will the weather have Friday nite? The Weather Channel predicts a high of 49 and a low Friday night of 29 in Martin. That’s a true cold-weather game.
Which team will be more affected by the weather? Will the passing team (Westview) be affected by receivers with cold hands? Will the running team (Covington) make mistakes in the handoffs to running backs because of the cold?
Time will tell, I suppose. What do you posters think will happen?
Good night for the hand warmers. Easier to take a hand-off than catching a ball, it'll feel like a brick Friday Night

It worked out well for White.
White Co is a large 4A school, Warren Co is 6A. Even if this move works, the likelihood of WC ever advancing to the 2nd round in a given year is low until the TSSAA implements a success formula for public schools as well

Yes, I had a friend text me this morning and said that Father Ryan head football coach Brian Rector had officially resigned. Unless the Board of Trust, administration and faculty are all on board with having a great athletic program it will continue to be a difficult place to be successful. Now if those in charge have had a change of heart and want to win it could be a great opportunity.
Even if they were, it'd still be an uphill climb competing with all the other alphabets. That said, Rector did end his tenure there with some momentum for the next guy (pretty good idea who it is)

Seems like an unusually high number of jobs open following this season, am I wrong in thinking that??
The average turnover over an offseason has been in the 60-70 range so nothing out of the ordinary IMO. Alot of these jobs are places that it's difficult to win at.
Wait until a good job or two comes open, then the dominoes will really start to fall

Yep. Had an interesting discussion with the Bradley Central AD when I was there to work a Maryville-BC game. Allen did in one year there pretty much the same things that he did at Powell.
Like I said, worst football hire in Knox County in my lifetime, and I am no spring chicken.
Best thing you can say about his tenure at Powell and BC is that it was a short lived mistake.

Powell wasn't the only program in TN he did that to either. He's living proof that if you interview well enough, even bad head coaches keep getting hired
