If he had stayed at Maryville you can bet he would have had 90 more wins to his credit and could of been the only person to break Rankins record if he wanted to do so. That is if Rankin ever decides to retire in the near future.
Rankin will be coaching till he keels over

All I know is this will be fun to watch.
Boo Carter. Sleep easy. You gonna need to have a game.
What wild is whoever wins has to probably play Brentwood.
6A is wild. If Oakland wins easy it’s oaklands year. Wouldn’t be shocked
Brentwood will have their hands full with Houston, beat a Germantown team that alot of ppl had penciled in for the title game by 20
Bradley's offense is too good to get smacked around like Riverdale did

Yes, it seems he has a good kicker every single year. This Fri night I don't think they will be kicking away from this or that guy. Rogers will just be kicking deep and getting touchbacks every time. Basically no wind forecast for gametime so he will be good to go. I believe he had 7-8 touchbacks this past Fri against Riverdale. The young man is a serious weapon in the kicking game.
His ability to put the ball in the endzone is pretty big when Boo Carter is on the other side. Nothing kills momentum faster than a big KO return

Very odd that there are two kickers. Jacoby Stevens I remember well. He was a man among boys back then.
Looks like the only kicker from 1A since introduction of the award but perfectly encapsulates how Creasy excels in all 3 phases

You are correct coach. I could see him staying on as an assistant since that was he was doing that this year before that craziness happened.
A lot of people don't understand how much strain being a head coach puts on you. Coach Z has had many great years as a head coach and respect the heck out of him for giving me a call to help at LC when I went to UT. Some fun times turning that LC program around under him
Good point that people seldom take into account, most people only think about wins and losses. There's no shame in being just a good assistant or coordinator, behind a great HC is a equally great coaching staff

2 of those are right, Creasy wasn't the coach at Oakland when Jack Jones was there
He's right, Creasy didn't become HC at Oakland until 2015. @jhawk23got them all right in a PM......... Jared White (Kicker-2008), Jacoby Stevens (WR/S- 2016) and Garrett Taylor (Kicker-2018)

Did you see where boo said they’re cousins and they talk everyday lol that the game is personal haha In a friendly way
Morris is from Chattanooga so I believe it, both great players that seem to be everything you would want in a teammate, I'm glad Morris still has a year of eligibility left.
Since Mr. Football Finalists are being announced, a trivia question: In Kevin Creasy's 16 seasons as Head Coach, how many Mr. Football Winners has he coached (brownie points if you get the name and year)?

Congrats to both Boo Carter and Daune Morris for being named Mr. Football finalists

I'm still mad about the ground causing a fumble in that 2021 game.
Bradley is a weird stadium. Once you are on the visitors side, that's it. Don't try and go over to the home side and get a snow cone.
Parking $4
Sometimes you make your own luck. Left that game believing we took Mairvul's best shot and if the younger Jones kid is as good as his brother, they won't be down for long.
Oakland actually had an away game @BC in 2001 and it def. struck me as unusual. BC got to find a way to pack Allan Jones somehow

And just think, I was gonna sit on the visitors side and wear Red and Blue.
We'll be OK, Ya'll been on the losing side the last 3 years so it'll be familiar territory

First time I saw Haynesworth was last year in a JV game. Didn't know who he was or anything. He carried the ball one time and I was sitting up straight in my seat asking everyone around me who that kid was! Yup Aivery Haynesworth. He's a legit starter for pretty much any team in the state and even though he is considered our 3rd string, their isn't much difference between him and the two ahead of him. The young man runs hard. I hope we get to see more of him as well.
It's not gonna be fair trying to tackle him or Morris next year, not that Jones is any slouch nut he's not a big feller like Haynesworth

I saw Bradley doing that slow shift (Chavis' prowler defense comes to mind) and thought, If we snapped it a few times while they were milling about, we might break a long run or two.
Guarantee Creasy has made a note of that if regular fans can pick it up

he took a good shot to that knee. he's not 100%
But like my collegiate wrestling coach said back in the day...if you're not hurt or dinged up at this time of year then something is wrong with you. Haha
Maybe he isn't. I know that Brent Stockstill nearly beat Maryville in 2012 on a torn acl . I'd be treating Martin as if he's 100%. Ironically, this is probably the healthiest Oakland has been as a team all year, I wouldn't mind seeing Haynesworth (who has missed most of the season) getting a few carries early, he's a load to bring down
-
Martin is going to play from what I've heard and I'm sure Oakland will prepare like he's 100%

Hey 92, when was the last time Clinton went to the 3rd round? I don’t think any of those “Cute Andy” teams, as Ope calls him went that far, did they? 6-7 of course isn’t a great record by no means, but to go on the road and beat MC and OR was pretty huge regardless. Y’all played WV better than I expected too, tbh, especially coming off that huge emotional win @ OR.

The only one that was "butt hurt" was Counce, making accusations he has no proof of. Sounded like some bandwagon fan instead of someone that had been around football all his life

I give big respect to this Oakland team . It seems all year they have been made out to be less than years past by media and maybe some of own supporters. The 21-22 year with James , Patterson , & Horton went perfect 15-0. At this point James had 158 touches 1283 yards 22 Tds, Patterson 111 touches 801 yards 10 Tds. The 21-22 defense had allowed 172 points thus far , todays team 110 points. Isaiah Horton was big piece of 21-22 offense as well 860 yards 7 Tds. Horton definitely kept defenses honest with vertical threat. Morris has had 241 touches for 2216 yards 27 Tds. Jones 158 touches 1201 yards 19Tds. The production greater offensively this season vs 21-22 which gets me to the point , this years Oline/Dline have been under sold. Offensively the box has been loaded since week one and still had great production . My MVP is do it all TE/T/HB Duce Hewitt. Oakland as last week and this week plays teams with 3 or 4 kids list as top 50 prospects yet they have none. Bigs keep taking your lunch box mentality for next 2 weeks to work.
If you've listened to Creasy at all when given a interview this season, it's been a different tone than past years. Your right the numbers aren't that different and in some respects they lean favorably towards this team, but in past years they've been able to lean on their passing game when needed, if Oakland gets in that kind of situation Friday I'm not as confident as I've been in past years.
Riverdale was really the first time i felt they came out and played well in all 3 phases so the worry that this was a team capable of winning a gold ball was well founded. 21 also played an all timer of a schedule. They still got to win two more before they can make such comparisons, if they can repeat last Friday, they got a pretty good chance

An MBA alum and coach at BA? Interesting......

Honestly, I still think it's still a win for Center Grove and I still think they'd beat any public school in TN but they no doubt made Oakland better

Yep exactly. He’s so good at recognizing what defenses are doing and knows when to call those plays he’s been setting up all night. No matter who replaced GQ, they were never going to be able to do the things he did at the high school level. And to your point, Gaylor and Ellis were huge advantages to have. Great coaches.
They were basically a cheat code. Rarely do you want to be the guy that replaces "the guy" but Hunt has done as well as one can. Riverdale still hasn't been back to the BCB since Rankin left, though they weren't smart to promote from within like Maryville did

Oakland @ Bradley Central (take 2)
in Class 5A & Class 6A

Get a chuckle every time somebody from East TN talks about Oakland making 6A predictable, guess we're just going to ignore Maryville finishing a 26 year run of making the semis every year along with 12 titles and 5 runner-ups. Just say you want the local team to win
