  1. Yeah, that didn't happen. Starkweather scored for the last time with 3:11 to go in the game. It's all right here in the game report from the newspaper. http://www.greenevillesun.com/xml/nitf/chuckey-doak-outlasts-claiborne-in---slugfest-to-win/article_5fc33174-9b35-5521-8c91-4dbd917b8f29.html
  2. Chuckey Doak and Claiborne had a dog fight but it was the Black Knights who came out victorious 49-35. Claiborne absolutely KILLED us with the passing game, something like 300 of their 350 total yards were through the air. the game was pretty calm in the first half as the teams were tied at 14 at the half, but the scoring opened up in the 3rd quarter as CHS scored twice and CD once in a 50 second span to make the game 28-20, CD then scored on a pretty odd play after a long drive, Starkweather was going for the endzone when Nick Quillen went to push him in he forced his own player to fumble and recovered it in the endzone, the ensuing 2 point try was successful and the game was 28-28, the teams traded TD's and the game was tied at 35 with 6 minutes left, CD scored on a long drive to take a 42-35 lead, and as Claiborne's last gasp effort to tie the game failed on 4th down it gave the knights excellent field position and Starkweather iced the game with a TD run. Great game from both teams. South Greene Friday night. GO BLACK KNIGHTS!
  3. Well South Greene lost by 3 to Unicoi and only 1 to West Greene, so that means Unicoi wins 29-27. I'm kidding, I think West Greene wins, as the color guard puts up 21 during halftime.
  4. I found my way out into the vast wilderness that is north greene county to watch some football, CD won 27-0. Game was tied at 0 with 4 mins til half, two husky turnovers got the black knights 2 field goals before half and they took over in the 2nd half it was 13-0 after 3 and 2 late td´s sealed a black knight victory. Tanner Barkley led the team well, had a few good passes, a few good defensive plays, a fake punt td that was called back, and a rush td for good measure. Brian Alvarez had a good night kicking also, going 2 for 2 on field goals and 3 for 3 on extra points. North Greene played good defense only giving one real scoring drive, on CD other scoring drives there average starting field position was probably the 12 yard line. I had a nice time at the game North Greene has improved there facilities a lot since I was last there in 2011. Gonna try and see Claiborne at CD on Thursday. Does anyone know why this game was moved back a day? If grammar is really terrible remember that it's 2am. GO BLACK KNIGHTS!
  5. yes the Knights will miss Cobble this year, he was a very vital piece to the team last season. Starkweather ran the ball very well last year, they lose Dillon Brown but still have Barkley and Starkweather this year to run the ball. I plan on being at North Greene for the opening game on the 28th, I hope the game is as good as last years at CD. I don't really enjoy big blowout games whether CD killing it or getting killed.
  6. Yeah i expect a long night against Elizabethon, A score along the lines of 49-7 is expected, with CD getting a garbage time touchdown. CD tried to do the passing attack against CAK last year and it didn't work at all.
  7. I'll try to keep posting, I probably won't make it to many games because of college, but i'll catch a few.
  8. Almost time for a new season on the field for the Black Knights. I don't really know how many starters they return or anything, but I know the QB returns to run the offense. I would predict a lot of the same as last season with the way the offense is ran. The Black Knights actually went the whole season last year without a passing touchdown and it took them to a 7-3 record. Heres the schedule for this season, I believe 8 wins are possible, but i think 6 is more realistic. Elizabethon and Pigeon Forge are pretty tough. Friday August 28th North Greene Away 7:30 Friday September 4th Claiborne Home 7:30 Friday September 11th South Greene Home 7:30 Friday September 18th Johnson County Away 7:30 Friday September 25th Sullivan North Away 7:30 Friday October 2nd Unicoi (Homecoming) Home 7:30 Friday October 9th Northview Away 7:30 Friday October 16th Pigeon Forge Home 7:30 Friday October 23rd Elizabethton Home 7:30 Friday October 30th West Greene Away 7:30
  9. Gonna try to watch them play Chuckey-Doak, I predict Elizabethon wins 42-7 in that game, as much as I want CD to win i have to be realistic.
  10. This is a school that just recently was a contender to win 2-3 games a season but they turned it around. I really love our fan base they are always in the game til the end. I'm glad you had a good time at the game, If we ever travel to CAK i'll be sure to try and make sure i'm there.
  11. Those 3 guys could have been stragglers from the Tusculum College Volleyball game that we held at our Gym, I don't actually sit down at Football games i wander around and talk to friends and get different views of plays and stuff. The only reason i assumed they were CAK is because they were insulting C-D, but they werent pulling for CAK either so I don't know. The Warriors played a good game, we were really hoping for rain to try and slow down the passing game, but it stayed dry as a bone all night, cold but dry. Im still a senior at chuckey doak so i go to most of our home sporting events and ones at Greeneville, South, West, and North Greene. Good luck to your Warriors against the Tigers on Friday, For us we wait til August.
  12. Well our guys played their hearts out all season to finish 7-4 overall, We had several standout players this year highlighted by Dillon Brown who finished just shy of 2000 yards on the season, around 1800 i guess, and he sat out the Greeneville game (although he probably wouldnt had gotten much there anyway). Won the County championship for the 2nd straight year defeating West Greene 23-0, South Greene 24-17, and North Greene 28-20. We lost to CAK 42-6, we just were not able to defend against passing teams all year and their quarterback threw for a ton on Friday. By my count we had 4 drives that could have resulted in points, but a turnover on downs, and interception, and the end of the 2nd quarter kept us out of the endzone. Dillon Brown finished with just over 100 yards on the ground and 1 touchdown and Tanner Barkley threw for 99 yards. Some of the CAK fans that sat on the C-D side were downright rude all the way down to just plain making fun of us, but i guess Teenagers do that. I can't wait for next year to see what the Black Knights can do in the new BRAC.
  13. I think C-D wins, it will be a close game though. Im a senior at Chuckey Doak so of course i will pick my team to win, heck i even picked us to upset Greeneville lol. It has been a good season so far, with our only loss coming to GHS.
