  1. There is no way MJ will win the State Championship... Memphis East will win it easily. Also, Independence has a point guard who is legit. about 6'2" white kid who can handle the ball as good as anybody and can shoot lights out
  2. I was unable to go to the game, I heard that Jackson didn't play well and Freeman played decent. Heard Taylor hit 8 threes for SC. With that being said, Jackson probably is out of the MVP race since it was such a big game. However, this proves that when Jackson doesn't play his best, Lebanon struggles (example: last 3 games). But if Freeman doesn't show out, then he has at least 5 other players who can pick up the weight for him. I'm not saying Jackson still deserves MVP, I'm just saying that Freeman has a chance of winning it because he is on the best team with the best talent around him. Reed only has 4 or so... He has definitely under-performed this year.. He should be able to dominate games with his size and length..
  3. You are out of your mind and are just as biased as me if you believe that SC would have 6 or 7 losses without him AND give him credit for being 45-4... Freeman was abysmal last season and shared the time with Zazarro (not sure if thats the back up pg's name).. And before Christmas Freeman wasn't making much noise.. It's easy to go 45-4 when you have easily had the best team 2 years in a row.. SC size the past two years have overpowered everyone else in the district.. But I guess we will see Tuesday night! I'm sure Lebanon will be tired after a hard game against MJ the night before, but it will be fun to see what happens! I hope both players play well and make it a good game! One last thing: At SC, Lebanon focused on Dotson and Reed and left Freeman wide open, so it will be interesting to see what they do Tuesday.
  4. Well I said I was biased haha but an MVP should be the player who is irreplaceable by that team, and I believe Jackson is that for lebanon. Lebanon only goes 7 or 8 deep, and there is no way they would be 18-3 without him. They are probably around .500 without him. SC has way more depth than lebanon, and I don't believe they would be too far from undefeated without freeman. Last year's MVP kyle Anderton did not have his best year (I think he had a better year as a junior) but without him SC doesn't go to sub state. It's all about who impacts their team more.
  5. I am a little biased, because the only team I have followed closely is Lebanon, but I think Tay Jackson has been the MVP so far. Lebanon has no sub for him at point guard, and he is the one that makes them go. Freeman is a solid player but he has had one great game vs Lebanon and that's it. One game doesn't justify MVP, and that same game, Jackson had 20 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. Faulkenberry has a pure shot, but he or any other player in the district doesn't impact their team more than Jackson does for Lebanon.
  6. I agree with you for the most part. Lebanon was up 9 on Gallatin with 10 seconds left but they turned it over twice a GHS scored 5 points. In my opinion Gallatin is the 2nd hardest place to play in the district. They always play better at home in district play, and Luna had them playing hard-nosed defense every possession. Gallatin also shot the play surprisingly well. They hit 12 threes during the game. I wouldn't say Lebanon blew it against Station Camp.. They only had the lead once, and after the technical foul and SC 14-0 run to go up 13, Lebanon was in a tight spot. I'm not saying the refs caused the game, but the foul count in the 3rd quarter got to 10(LHS)-2(SCHS) and ended up 10+(LHS)-5(SCHS). When you are down 10 points to SC it is hard to make a come back without a little help from the referees.
  7. I can't say much for teams other than for Lebanon, but for Lebanon, I don't think there is a better point guard in the district than Tay Jackson. Also, Noah Mulaski is easily one of the top 5 shooters in the district.
  8. Did you go to the game Friday night? You have to give credit to Lebanon.. They ran a 1-3-1 packed in like they have for the past year or so, and forced MJ to be patient. MJ likes to shoot.. a lot.. and to set up your shooters in a zone you have to utilize skip passes and screening the wings. MJ screened to get their shooters free, and they weren't able to knock them down as consistent as they would have liked. Also, Lebanon went man to man a little late, and every time Austin Brown got the ball posted up and scored. In the end, Lebanon did what they had to do to win, and pulled it out. I do agree that MJy subbed too much. They aren't good enough to go 5 in 5 out, and Allen tries to control the offense to the max. In reality, this is just early December basketball.. I guarantee Allen won't be subbing that much come late February.
  9. Lebanon beats Mt Juliet tonight 59-56! Great win for Lebanon considering Mt Juliet didn't lose anyone from last years team! The game wouldn't have been as close if Lebanon would have made their free throws at the end of the game. Mt. Juliet shot the ball pretty average, and Lebanon came up with big baskets when they needed them. It doesn't seem Mt. Juliet has gotten any better from the end of last year, which is surprising. Station Camp only wins by 11? I figured Beech would end up 7th or 6th this year. Anyone watch the game?
  10. I'm sorry all white county fans. warrior I like your posts here on coach t and I hope you don't take much offense to this, but Brentwood will win by 20+... I don't believe White County would get out of Brentwood's Region or Station Camp's Region. 30-3 is a heck of a record, but not of the teams you have played... WC toughest opponents were Lebanon (20-10, Region Quarterfinal), Glencliff (17-15, Region Quarterfinal) Carter (27-7, in AA State), MBA (17-10, State Quarterfinal), and Lawerence County (22-9 and has a really weak district). Brentwood has played 4 9-AAA teams who WC would struglle with, Lavergne, Blackman, Ravenwood, Independence, Franklin, and Hillsboro. If WC plays these teams, I see them only going about 6-4, maybe 7-3. I am for WC, I really am, but I don't see it happening. And anyone saying they have a REALLY good chance, is lying to themselves. Sorry. I truly wish to see the scoreboard and see WC upsetting the Bruins, but its unlikey.
  11. Congratulations to MJ!!! Incredible last half of the season!!! Unlucky for NW however... They had to travel to wilson county twice under 24 hours. Also, it seems unfair to me that MJ would have the game at 1:30 where the entire school can attend. Seems that a region semi final should be at least a little neutral... But MJ was the better team. I believe Lebanon is better too, they just didn't hit shots down the stretch and NW did.
  12. Tough loss for Lebanon tonight. lost 57-60 in overtime. #15 (McCoin maybe) hit two clutch threes very late in the 4th and overtime. Two of Lebanons post fouled out mid-way through the 4th so Lebano played with a line-up all under 5'11". LHS has had an incredible year, and they have accomplished wonders without a true post. 20 wins, 3rd place in the district regular season, 2nd in the tournament, and 1st region berth in 5 years. Good luck to all 9-AAA teams left!
  13. Looks like it's Lebanon vs Station Camp in the final! Hopefully LHS will make a game out of this one. I think they will, since SC struggled at MJ last time haha. Awesome stuff for Lebanon! First time they have been to the district final since they moved to this district, and its the first time in 5 years they will be going to Region!!! Go Blue Devils
  14. MVP: Anderton All-District: Dotson: SC Reed: SC Faulkenberry: MJ Pruitt: MJ Abston: LHS Jackson: LHS Taylor: BHS Wilcox: BHS Williams: GHS Utley: PHS Kirby: HHS
  15. Any of yall gonna make it up to Lebanon tomorrow for WC vs LHS?? It's LHS's senior night and I think it will be a good game.
