  1. Like they need any help with that! You speak truth. They only missed one biggie. They're bored with no games for three weeks. Those injuns gonna be hungry for somebody's backside when they actually get to play again!!!
  2. Thanks BT......cheering for you guys to make the run through your side and take down the All Girls School in WTN. Somebody new needs to win that trophy! Our side is completely a mess with some obvious front runners and a couple of schools that could hurt some feelings along the way. Gotta win the first one to win the next one...... FRA.....here we come!
  3. You actually had my attention for a sec. However, you lost me at "somewhere around 27" and "I think!" But, I'll give credit where credit is due.....you used interesting math to exaggerate that first number, but that last one is dead on....had to look at that stat line three times to make sure momma hadn't slipped some nip into my hot cider? No wonder that angry man got escorted out a little early from that one....LOL!!!! At least Booger had specific references to help try to sell his pile of nonsense from last year. I thing maybe his international travels have affected some long-term memory cells. I believe the real truth lies somewhere in the range of 11 flags for 90+ penalty yards for the Rams in that one. (Maybe the fact the Irish managed to pile up 18 made it seem like they were a flyin' one direction all night.) Must've been that same crew from the GB game!!! I knew there wasn't a snowball's chance in Hades we only had two hankies in 8 quarters of trench warfare against both of your troops combined, not with the group we had last year. Those guys weren't shy about sharing Bible verses with anyone who would listen! I guess they thought the Irish needed more clarification on some things, seein' as how they've got a few more books to get all jumbled up in their noggins.
  4. Kudos to the coaching staff and kids for being willing to go back to the drawing board and trust each other. Now, there's a much tougher challenge this week. From what I'm hearing and seeing, the team is bought into what the coaches are selling. Now, its time again to lay it all out on the line....like they did last week. We only had three penalties on Friday.....when was the last time you could say that about a GCA team? It will be key to our success going forward. Just ask ole Coach Pruitt..... Good luck to your Blount County boys.....keep the hardware in ETN!
  5. Its about time! Did you win the Ryder Cup? BTW.....thanks for the kind words last night and today. It was great to see some leaders step up and set the tone early and often. All in all, it was a much needed, momentum building team win. It is good to see things coming together in just the nick of time. Friday is another level though....have to step it up even more and get a couple of big dogs in that lineup to give us a shot. You really didn't miss much today. Ole "Eugen" and I were just getting better acquainted, though we've met before. I know he's a good guy and a passionate high school football fan. We'll just have to be adults and agree to disagree on the appropriateness of the "c" word. I'm going to prefer to broaden my linguistic horizons and come up with something a bit less "touchy"...."fragile"...."sensitive".....take your pick. Its all good..... On to FRA.....
  6. Sure hate to hear that. Pride knows your pain. He too saw his son's senior season end before it began. The Lord has shown him a completely new and incredible path to follow. It is really cool to see what is happening in that young man's life. I have a borrowed ACL attached to my knee. They definitely don't just reattach themselves. Prayers for BT Jr for sure......and his dad.....boy, do I know that feeling!
  7. Gee.....can't wait to see that film tomorrow! I stopped at that first sentence. Game is won or lost at the line of scrimmage. Let's see....their trencher is headed to GA and ours is headed to WKU.....that's a wash. I kid......going to have to be a team effort on that one! That stud WR's momma will kiss that shoulder and rub some Icy Hot on it. No shoulder's gonna stop a stud headed to Nike-ville from playing in his senior year playoff game. He's headed to Oregon.....ours is headed to, uh, well.....UT's Bickle Engineering school! Another wash And, as it turns out, we now have a not that big, but angry and fresh RB to balance the attack. Add those to our also very reliable kicker, and I predict a tie!!! We'll be headed to OT!!!! Thanks for the input.....I saw Boog's statement. Sure hope you don't have one gimped up too bad. That's been my prayer during every pregame.....that we all come out of this season with no major injuries. We've had our share. The Lord's been good to RaizemJr the past couple of years. Speaking of MAJOR INJURIES......I heard something this morning that might interest Booger and the rest of us.....may be a Sparty sprinter in a world of hurt this morning after last night? I hope that's not true for his sake. Sure would change the outlook of some games coming up though. Booger will get his goon squad on it.....he knowz people.
  8. Everybody's 0-0 this week. Its win or go home. Winner of this one gets to go try and steal ole Booger's pot o gold on Vermont Ave. The last time we ventured to FRA, it was a cold, windy night on the hill, and what a beautiful setting and campus it is! We prevailed that night, but that was light years ago. What's everybody think about this one? Breadtruck? You know these guys.....what are we in for?
  9. No, but your cuz was, as usual. (Don't take that wrong....I thoroughly enjoy OnB's posts.....most of the time:) You know what you meant by the post, and I believe "cancer" was a poor choice of words. There is a huge difference between distractions and attitudes needing adjusted and accounted for than cancer. Lost a father, three grandparents and a brother-in-law to cancer. Cancer is no joke! And, I appreciate you didn't mean any disrespect...I truly believe that. Lets move on to another subject......like a new thread with a playoff ring to it......pun intended.
  10. I'd say you just hit on a huge issue that will keep some privates from getting to the elite competitive level. It will definitely test the character of many a parent and student in the years to come, especially at some of our newer, smaller private schools forced to compete with larger, more established institutions. The real questions might be: Why does your institution exist? Why are parents looking at your school as a place to send their children? What are the overarching goals of the athletic programs? Do those goals ultimately assist the institution to achieve that mission statement? The next 3-5 years will be interesting to see where schools decide to focus their efforts.
  11. I completely agree with the first part of this post. Many kids are NOT held accountable as they should be anymore. Evidently, adults don't like it much either. The second part is completely erroneous and disingenuous to try and bail from a poor statement. I'm not going to go back like some do and copy/paste to prove my point. I'll just say "Helmet Gate" and I believe your other kissin' cousin declared "it was a long time coming." That was all that was referred to regarding our changes. And, everyone knows exactly what those statements meant. Y'all try to be funny on here, and sometimes things just get carried too far....whether you meant for them to or not.
  12. Don't throw that junk out there trying to walk back what you meant. I didn't say a "kid" either. But the team is made up of "kids." And, everyone knows the changes that have occurred lately. Listen, I know you're a good guy, along with that other cousin of yours. Sometimes things just don't need to be said. I don't remember any of us making mention of any major changes on your roster at the beginning of the year, other than to compliment the stable of studs you had still there that could take care of business. Thanks for the well wishes. Go bring home that gold ball you guys deserve.
  13. C'mon now.....that's completely uncalled for. You're talking about kids on here. None of our kids are perfect, but they are all still friends. Go put out a fire or something. Bye week has your brain on fire. The positive results have a whole lot to do with getting back to what made us a threat last year. It definitely helps to get people healthy and eligible to play too. It also helps to be playing a different level of competition the past two weeks. Rubber meets the F-Road-A on Friday. We'll see if these changes are for real game changers.
  14. Thank you Dad! You're too kind, though I agree on the QB. When he has time and the defense has to respect the new balanced attack, he's awfully good. You already know what I think about one of the receivers....totally biased take of course. I can understand your frustrations. You've got a stable of athletes. Why you ever passed one time, let alone 17, is beyond me. I've got to believe if #3 comes back 100%, you'll be a handful for Webb next week. That poor little gal was about to have a stroke on that prayer....lol. There's no way you could've gotten me to do that in that environment at that age! We'll need all of the divine intervention we can get starting next week. I wish you all well in the playoffs.
  15. Bittersweet night for this dad. We got a much needed win with a much needed balanced attack. And, that defense.......so much fun to see those guys flying around. One more incredibly important thing to note......only 3 flags for 22 yards......OUTSTANDING!!!! I think ole Pride is on to something. We for sure caught a break with #3 having to sit out for noggin' reasons. We've had enough of our own dings and bells ringing. I sure hope he gets healthy and gets to show off his talents next week. As for our Rams....its off to FRA. We've got a lot of work to do between now and then. In the meantime, I'll just be glad that my boy saved his best overall game for his last game at Jerry Disney Sports Complex. Been watching him play on that field for what seems like forever. The last one, wherever its at, is gonna hurt something awful. This one was bad enough. Good luck to all teams headed to the playoffs!
  16. Did you really say "RECRUITING?" Didn't think that was allowed in any division...... Two divisions is the right thing to do. All of these teams with losing records don't need to be in the playoffs in Div II, including ours if we end up 4-6.
  17. Yes, he's like his mother, thank The Lord for that! He's an excellent student. I honestly don't know how he keeps up with all of it playing three sports, but he does. I'm sure someday, he'll look back at things and wonder....what if I had gone to______________? I did. But, then I always look at the blessings (my family I don't deserve) I have now that I would not have had, if I had gone ahead and played, instead of going to the good school for an education. Then again, I didn't have all of the unique options he does. My prayer has always been through this process that he follows where he feels The Lord is leading him AND that his mother and I will have a peace about it. I can't know that he's done that for sure, but I know he sure went against conventional wisdom, so I am pretty sure he is listening to the right voice. I'll hopefully get that peace I'm looking for sooner than later. His momma is just happy he's going to be close to home a little longer.
  18. You've seen a bunch of changes in our team. Gosh, I hope that was ok to say!!! Thanks...He's a decent athlete who could've saved his 529 for grad school. However, unless The Good Lord just steps in and completely changes his thought process, he's headed to UT's nuclear, chem or bio"something" engineering program in the fall. My alma mater doesn't have engineering, and Brohm n Cut have their '19 TEs committed. Before I start crying, thinking about it, I need to go check my Powerball tickets!!! Before I go....I will say this.....I am EXTREMELY proud of him for making a mature, independent decision for himself that he knew nobody (and I mean nobody) would understand. He's going to do very well in whatever he ends up pursuing. And, he'll make one heck of a Pete Wheeler or Pablo Sanchez on the rec league fields and courts at UT! Dang it!!! Missed every number...... Conference call is over....gotta go back to work.
  19. If I remember right, it poured in our game at CCS last year. Rain won't stop us from passing, but CCS's defense might. From the looks of the film, CCS has improved across the board compared to last year's team. This game comes down to who makes the least mistakes in the weather and sound tackling. One thing's for sure, I know we won't have as many personal foul penalties as we normally do. That can't hurt! Safe travels to you and your crew on Friday.
  20. Unless my eyeballs are deceiving me, we're either going to beat CCS on Friday and head to FRA as the #3 seed, or we lose and we're headed back to Vermont Ave as the #6 seed. There isn't a snowball's chance in Hades CAK loses to Boyd. Nor is there a MegaMillion Winner's chance Silverdale beats Webb this Friday. That pretty much leaves us with two slots according to that new thread and link to the playoff possibilities. Then again, it is about as clear as mud. Either way, I'm going to be ill from the long drive to Franklin, or sick from eating too much Champy's gizzards. Sick day it is!!!!
  21. Powell just got knocked out of the playoffs. Those kids don't deserve the hand they've been dealt. If Clinton doesn't make it, you won't have room to seat all those fans..... Coach McKamey back to GCA.....pretty good story line too! What a charity gate that could be, not to mention a pretty good football game the way Clinton has picked it up lately!!! Wish you all the best.
