  1. It looks like no one has been active on this message board for a while, but I am hoping someone will catch this. If you have not seen what TSSAA has done to cross country, track, golf, and tennis, you need to check it out. The Board of Control voted to reclassify these four sports together back in July and split "participating" schools right down the middle. The result which was released at the start of this week was disastrous. No one is happy with the change, or at least runners, parents, and at least 20 coaches I've talked to. TSSAA needs to fix this mess in November at their next meeting. It's beyond ridiculous.

  3. Several media outlets in Knoxville are reporting CAK will make the transition to Division II next year. http://www.knoxnews.com/sports/high-school/cak-decides-to-make-move-to-division-ii-3d0c4088-9b41-72ca-e053-0100007f15c9-394352601.html
  4. Several media outlets are reporting CAK will go Division II next year as well. Any word on Knoxville Catholic?
  5. CPA announced today that it will be moving to division II next year. It's the first from the midstate to make the declaration. Any news from the east? West? We have just over two weeks now.
  6. Alright. Back to the original intent of this discussion thread. We will know for sure by mid-October about current private schools going to division 2. But as of right now, who all has declared an official intent to make the move? Notre Dame and Chattanooga Christian? What about the Knoxville privates? Have any officially made an announcement yet?
  7. That's correct. I'm wanting to know which schools, if any, have actually declared their intent to leave division I to move to division II.
  8. I've looked through several discussion threads so forgive me if I have overlooked this question somewhere. Since the TSSAA ruling at the start of the 2015-2016 school year, are there any private schools that currently compete in Division I that are officially planning to move into Division II by the 2017-2018 school year? I've heard rumors of Chattanooga Christian and Notre Dame. Can anyone confirm any specific schools or perhaps even some rumors? I know they still have plenty of time but I'm just curious.

Or are we all just assuming that every private school will definitely leave Division I?

  11. This district is still wide open. I never expected the first half to go this way. Wow on the CM win over York tonight. And LA over Upperman. Just wow.
  12. Central Magnet 52 Macon County 35 Final
  13. It was an honor to watch this game. So proud of the class shown by both teams. You have to give Blackman credit for pulling out the win, but Oakland Coach Jennifer Grandstaff did an outstanding job today and her girls responded when so many didn't give the Lady Patriots a chance at all. It was one of those games that you hate to see anyone lose.
  14. What will happen in this game?
  15. Come on Cannon and Central Magnet!
  16. Am pulling for the Lady Tigers in this game. Will be an incredible challenge for them to win. Hoping for a great game either way. Safe travels to those making the long drive from Murfreesboro.
  17. I'm pulling for the Lady Patriots. Should be a great game! Tough place to play.
  18. Both good teams. CC is hot at the right time and playing with a purpose. CM can go on the road Monday and shock some folks. Would love to see both teams playing at Murphy Center this time next week.
  19. Obi is going to the University of Chicago. She declared early to focus on academics for her senior year and her final basketball season.
  20. Tonight's Central Magnet-Cannon region final postponed until 7pm Friday. Game still to be played in Cookeville.
  21. Four great teams. Shame to see two go home. Two great games. Not always pretty, but both games were exciting. Best wishes to Central Magnet and Cannon County moving on.
  22. Heaven help us if we are postponed tonight
  23. Alright. I'm going to say the opposite just to make things interesting. I've got Upperman over Cannon. Love the Lady Bee defense and what Coach McWilliams does. This game will be a great battle and if Cannon gets the outside game going, Upperman will be in trouble. This one may come down to free throws. Upperman swept the regular season but you had better respect the way Cannon is playing. As for Central over Livingston, I love the Lady Tiger senior leadership and when the Obi and Smith combination is on, they are hard to beat. However, they are not deep so if Livingston gets them into foul trouble, the game could easily turn in their favor. I'm curious to see the rebounding stats in this game. These two teams split the regular season and this game has the classic recipe for an all-out war. Long story short for me, this is one of those nights when it will be unfortunate to see two strong teams eliminated. Any other region (district in this case) in the state, any one of these four teams would be a slam dunk to advance to substate, probably state. Best wishes for injury-free games and good sportsmanship. Safe travels everyone.
  24. Cool. Appreciate the info. I guess the schedule change has created a lot of confusion across the state. Better question. Who advances?
  25. Weird. TSSAA has Upperman and Cannon in the upper half of the bracket and LA and CM in the lower half. Why are they earlier? And again, those times are not the ones listed on the TSSAA website. Has the region been granted permission to change times?
