  1. Fair enough reason. I can't vouch for him really. All I can chalk that up to is the sheer excitement for Peabody winning. We weren't expected to at all clearly. I think we all had a little adrenaline running through the stands and the players. Regardless though, you guys have my utmost respect! With that being said, I still have to pull for our Tidemen next Friday. We definitely want to avenge our loss to Dresden earlier in the season. I have no doubt our Coach will make some adjustments, so we'll be ready. Roll Tide!
  2. You know... I can understand that. It has to be a frustrating feeling. But I said it earlier this week on the Peabody/UC thread. Peabody was distracted during the games against UC and Dresden. The team had some personal issues going on. It clearly affected our performance for both games. We weren't playing to the best of our ability. I clearly stated that we lost with no excuses for both those games due to our mistakes. Both UC and Dresden capitalized on our mistakes to win those games. Tonight Peabody did just what UC and Dresden did to us in The regular season. We capitalized on Union City's mistakes. We played a hard fought game. We earned our win tonight. It wasn't given to us due to mistakes. We still had to make big plays all through the game. So for whatever "personal reasons" you have for wanting Dresden to win is fine. We played one heck of a game tonight... Our defense was on point, and our offense held strong. I also previously mentioned that spark Peabody caught during last year's playoffs. I think we might have it again this year. I can't honestly say that we will beat Dresden this go round, but I do believe it will be a much closer game than the previous encounter! So with all this said, I sure hope your "personal reasons" are due to a family member playing at Dresden or something along those lines (though I know it doesn't matter.) Just because we had a couple of off games doesn't mean we deserve the state championship any less. Just saying and thinking out loud.
  3. Well said, Big Swo. You guys have nothing to hang your heads about. I know the loss hurts, but it's truly amazing at the type of run you guys have been a part of... Especially the seniors! They've seen it all. There aren't many Senior classes out there across this entire country that have been a part of such a magical run. It's something to be proud of.
  4. Much respect to Union City! You guys have one heck of a program which will continue year after year. You have nothing to hang your head over the run you had these past several years. It's something to be proud of no doubt!

  6. Peabody recovered a fumble!!!!! 1:33 left in the game! Peabody ball! 28-24! Roll Tide!
  7. Game day!!! Happy Friday the 13th! Who knows how this game will go. I'm hoping Peabody gets the job done. If they don't, I hope y'all bring that Gold Ball back home.
  8. I find myself wondering if Peabody hadn't been dealing with some issues amongst the players, how that game would've gone. It was a huge distraction at the time, and it was still going on when we played Dresden. I'm not making excuses. We lost both games clearly, but I do wonder how it would've gone had we been firing on all cylinders. I hope we see a better match up Friday than we saw in September. The playoffs definitely seem to fire up our boys. Last year we won games people didn't think we should have. I hope our Tidemen catch that same spark that pushed them above and beyond what anyone could have predicted last year for this playoff run. Like you said, it should be a dandy! Maybe we will finally see some good football weather too.
  9. I believe there is a chance. There always is. Like it's been stated turnovers need to be minimal, and mistakes can't be made. Union City is capable of losing just like Peabody is capable of winning and vice versa. It all comes down to the field Friday night. I think most of us are waiting to see what happens Friday night. I know I'm looking forward to a good ball game.
  10. I think it will be a good game. It always is between these two teams. Naturally I have to give my vote to Peabody. If we can't pull it off then Union City will have my support for the remainder of the playoffs. I'm really looking forward to Friday night, and I hope we have a good week of banter back and forth!
  11. This game has been very interesting to follow. I have no doubt the playoffs will be a tad bit stressful when it comes the teams in our region! But at the same time, who doesn't love a hard fought football game?
  12. Kickoff isn't until 7:30.... 6 more minutes until some football!
  13. I'm definitely going to bet that the Black & Gold team wins this game!!! Peabody Black & Gold that is! lol Roll Tide
  14. I've been sitting back quietly watching this discussion unfold all week. I personally think Dresden will be in for a surprise come Friday night. Having not been battle tested, they have no idea the battle they will be walking into when they step foot in the Walter Kilzer Stadium. I'm going with Peabody by at least 14 points if not more.
