  1. I understand what you are saying. I should have been more direct. GCAPride said CPA (maybe) had a person on the committee, when they did not and I took your original statement to say CPA was able to stay in AA because of that. The truth is CPA does not have a cap on their enrollment for something as trivial in the grand scheme of things as classification in football. And they certainly don’t hide students someway. The numbers have always been transparent and easy to access to any parent with children in the school and probably many others.
  2. What are the odds you didn’t read the whole thread before adding your two cents to the conspiracy theory? Scroll up a little and read Booger’s reply to GCAPride…
  3. MM, why you gotta cut us Vandy fans like that?? LOL. We got baseball… and bowling… actually, I’m pretty stoked to see what happens the next couple of years in football. I like the new HC. This recruiting class is pretty impressive. And they got a bonus LB that would have started at Clemson next year…
  4. Don’t run him off BC! It’s good to have some new D2 posters. The IFL falls apart when you compare games like CPA / Oakland and then see how CPA played against Lipscomb twice. it’s crazy impressive that Alcoa has not lost a playoff game since 2014.

    D2 AAA

My response is not a narrative. I’m nobody and was just responding to Navy. The jest of my response is that I can remember when we were in division I and had to hear weekly that we recruit when the majority of the players had been in CPA prior to recruiting years. I also indicated that only 10 new kids or so get into the high school a year because of capacity.

    D2 AAA

You’re on point. I can remember when we were in Division I and we had to hear about how we recruited every week, but the truth would be 22 of 25 seniors were in school since kindergarten… I didn’t look at it closely this year, but typically only about 10 new students are admitted to the high school a year with most of them not being athletes.
  7. I agree, the last 3 years of Lipscomb resurgence has definitely made the division and classification a lot more exciting than it would have been otherwise. I hate to even bring it up, but are you guys worried about the Fresno State stuff? Next year will be different for sure, but there are still some really good players on both teams coming back.
  8. Got to give a lot of credit to LA’s defense. Even with our extremely tough schedule, we ran roughshod over most defenses but LA shut us out twice. The last couple of minutes of the first half was brutal. I thought for sure that we would be going into the second half tied and get the ball first in the second, but it wasn’t meant to be. Lipscomb is a really good team. They were definitely the best in D2AA this year.
  9. Rolled into town with an unexpected rain shower… looks like it should be perfect tomorrow though. @Booger , you going to be in attendance tomorrow? I can’t remember another playoff game where we were a huge underdog. Feels more exciting! @TTate, I’m guessing you’re in town. Maybe we’ll run into each other. Looking forward to kick off a great 3 days of football.
  10. I miss Coach Spangler! What a great guy and could coach any sport with a ball.
  11. I think if CPA protects the ball, it should be a better game than the first time. It’s a big gap to make up, and I’m not sure a team has ever been mercy ruled and then beat the same team in the championship or even playoffs, but I think this CPA team has a better chance than most to do it. CPA is firing on all cylinders at the right time. They had Lausanne down 56-10 after 3 quarters when they pulled their starters. Lausanne didn’t pull their starters, scoring 3 TDs in the fourth, even calling time out with 3 seconds left to give their Mr. Football candidate another score… obviously hoping to take advantage of how clueless some of the voters can be… nobody should beat Broome.
  12. Game day. 2nd round. A beautiful day here in middle Tennessee, I hope the same for east and west. Lausanne versus BGA - I’m pulling for BGA and wouldn’t be surprised if they make this a game or better. CPA versus CAK - We can’t overlook our friends from the East no matter what @Booger says! Lipscomb versus the AP darling Silverdale... Webb versus Davidson Academy - I think Davidson could make this a game also

    D2 AAA

That’s an impressive broadcast! I’m jealous of the picture quality and multiple cameras.
  14. This week’s games: BGA versus Chattanooga Christian CPA versus Boyd Buchanan CAK versus FRA Silverdale versus Nothpoint Christian ECS versus Davidson Academy Anyone predicting any surprises in the first round? FRA usually plays a good opening round game. Could be a trap game for CAK.

I actually laughed out loud last night when I noticed NCS’s Twitter name was @NCSRecruiting. There has to be a story there.
  16. The sun will still rise tomorrow. CPA has some stuff to work on. Hopefully we’ll get a rematch again.
  17. It’s at Lipscomb, for the second year in a row. I guess this period reset the order for some reason. I have no idea about either’s capacity though.
  18. 104.5 The Zone saying the game is sold out...
  19. Booger, I hope I get to join you on 12/2. I was just thinking last night how lucky I’ve been as a CPA fan / dad / whatever over the past 11 years. I think your Irish, Alcoa, and now Oakland are the only programs we have a losing record against during that period.
  20. Ways to watch / hear the game tonight: TV - MyTV30 Radio - 104.5 The Zone Streaming - https://watchstadium.com/live/
  21. He is very impressive! He runs very well also. I’m not a defensive expert, but it always feels like CPA plays bend don’t break on Defense. Not a lot of blitzing, but every once in a while one of the linebackers will surprise the other side. Our three down linemen senior starters have played a lot of football together since they were sophomores. Our secondary seems improved this year also, but this will be a challenge like nothing else they’ve seen this year.
  22. Doesn’t seem like it would help the situation though. I think he kinda got caught up in a humble brag, which we all do, and wanted to say we’re so good nobody will play us
  23. I’m excited for this game. It should be a good one with closely matched teams. The loser will definitely have the chance to make things right in the playoffs. I think it might be a lower scoring game than @Booger and friends predict. The defenses on both sides are pretty stout. I was listening to a pregame podcast and was a little surprised that Dilfer called out the AAA coaches for not returning his call! Good interviews with both coaches. I’ll link it from Twitter.
  24. Sounds right. I’m happy it was such a good game. Wish a couple of plays had gone differently, but it was still a good experience for CPA.
