I think that there are more overall good teams in 1a and 2a out west than in the east and one reason is fan support a lot of small school in east Tennessee people don't care as much. There exceptions like oneida and cf and a view others. But i think the west tn small schools get better support overall. I could be wrong though

Id like to say i really respect some of you union city posters. I hope this is a great game i know how talented uc is, but i think it will be a great game even if cf gets beat handle i know those boys will play hard. I think 1a next year will be very tough, also i think 2a will be tough. I do think if alcoa had not decide to stay in 3 a that 2 a would be extremely tough.

I respect how good your union city them is they are great but still beatable that's my point I did not mean to come off as insulting to union city fans I just get tired of hearing it's already over before it gets started cause coalfield hasn't seen anything like them. We'll I've seen way better teams that got beat by teams not as good as they were it can happen. Now coalfield may get stomped but that will be determined Friday not today cause union city is just that great.

I would also like to say that most of you union city fans probably think I'm a from coalfield. I'm not I did not attend cf or live there, but I really like coach henry and that community. Union city fans though keep saying we have never seen a team like union city. I'm from maryville grew up there played there was part of the 74 straight wins. Union city couldn't touch maryville. That's a mute point thorough. When I played there the fans thought like you we were unbeatable no team could touch us and for the most part it was true. But if this whole season was to play for second place in 1a because Uc can't lose then why play this season if your any other team. Let me enlighten you guys. 2006 maryville steam rolls through season then comes brainerd out of Chattanooga in first round. They have a 4-6 record and like 30 varsity players we have a 40 game win streak over a hundred players . They bring 7 fans to the game we had thousands we won 30-26 they didn't care who we were how great a unit we were. I guarantee they had never seen a team like us. But they competed and was there at the end with a chance to win. Now my senior year 2008 riding a 74 game win streak longest in nation at that time. We lose to Hillsboro a team we were more talented than better coached but on that day they played better. My point is you all act like coalfield should lay over and admit defeat cause union city is unbeatable even maryville is beatable. Trust me coach henry and those cf boys do not think well we made it to cookeville and now union city is going to beat us by 40 no they think they can win. Remember this is football I have no doubt that union city more talented at almost most the positions and have more depth. But this is the championship anything is possible even coalfield winning go coalfield show these golden tornadoes some humility and bring them off there pedestal

Somebody posted that if Stewart is really a 4 star prospect that none of uc lineman should get around him any all game. That statement is absurd. I don't care at any position at any level no matter how good the player they will get beat or make a mistake. With that said he should when most of his one on one battles in this game, but he won't win every single one. Also I don't understand the personal rips on Stewart he is a good kid and I think he will excel at UT. I think that more than likely also that Jernigan is a great player who probably doesn't get the college looks he deserves it happens all the time, but that should not take away from what Stewart has don.

Well we shall find out on Friday good luck to union city and coalfield. Also you guys might be right and after the game I'll tell you what I think about union city. Can you tell me like your best players and what was your toughest game this year

Like I said I think that union city is loaded and probably on paper you think coalfield has no chance. In this game I don't think any of it matters. I will say this if coalfield keeps it close going into halftime they squeak out the win but they are down by more than 10 at halftime they get blown out. I just know when your the great team like union city is and you know your going to win and have that confidence sometimes a team keeps it close and that doubt creeps in trust me I know from experience

I feel like like everyone just thinks that this is the best team that coalfield has seen and should just give up now cause they can not win. The truth is they played catholic who only lost to Alcoa and Fulton. They played Norte dame who lost to catholic and Alcoa. They lost to a good Oneida team. They lost to a greenback team that they beat in the playoffs. Now they have lost four games, but two of those teams would throttle any 1a team even union city. I think they grown and learned from those losses prove beating greenback. Also they prove all the doubters wrong every week. Now to be honest I think union city has the talent and coaching to beat coalfield, but I don't think it happens. Now on paper union city wins hands down, but coalfield seems to be that team when they seem to have no shot and are out talented they find a way. This Friday they find a way and shock the union city faithful if for no better reason than that union city fans seem to think there already champions of this year before the games played.

i will be honest I have been picking against coalfield for the last 2 weeks, but i truly believe the are a destined team. They have a great leadership and a great coach. They believe and anyone who knows football knows how important it is. I believe coalfield somehow finds a way to win.

i believe that Fulton wins this game by at least 17 points. That is no disrespect to any school, but face facts fulton destroys everyone. I respect Loudon for going 13-0 then they face fulton and lose by 50 essentially. Fulton besides Carter this year could of beat anyone by as much as they have wanted to. They make really good teams look bad. Fulton wins again and do that hard feat of winning 3 in a row

Yes and I hope it works also i think that no schools going after your lineman Mitchell is a shame. He is an awesome lineman who has division 1 ability and because he is 6' 1 he is being overlooked

I believe knox west has became a program that will be good for years to come and win multple championships. Coach cummings has really done something special at west, but hillsboro is a very talented and good team. West is a great team wirh good players and hillsboro is a good team with great players. I call it the maryville way of football always a great team with good players and they always beat those teams with more "talent". West does this wins 24-21 its close but they get it done

All credit goes to Ravenwood, but i believe Maryville whens it all this year. Maryville has one of its best defenses they have had. Ravenwood has a nice balanced offense sort of reminds me of sevier county, but id say Ravenwoods offense is better at all positions besides qb. Now Ravenwoods defense has played great this year and i heard coach hester talk about his denfese and how they play. There defense actually reminds me of how maryville defense plays most years. They are not the biggest or the fastest but they play gap assignment and as one unit. With all that said i believe maryville whens 34-17 i think maryville will force Ravenwood to pass and the qb throws 2 picks. Still the game must be played cause anything can happen especially when its the championship those boys have so much emotion and adrenline running through them when they step on that field.
