  1. The JV squad for Science Hill looks good, and the 7th and 8th grade teams for the middle school (Liberty Bell) look very good. Lots of talent coming up for the Toppers. DB/SH is the rivalry in Upper NE TN. So regardless of how talented or talentless the teams are the games always seem to be close. As for Crockett, the games against SH this year have been a lot closer than the final scores indicate. When the two teams played at Crockett last month, the Pioneers only won by 6. Either team could have easily won as the game was competitive the whole time. SH kind of fell apart in the final 2 minutes and Patrick Good took over for Crockett. The game last week at SH was close as well until the 4th quarter, where once again, Good took the game over for the Pioneers.
  2. Yes. They took him out though before the last score. He's #11. Backups in for SH at 36-0. SH-43 William Blount-0 7 min to go in 1st half Shoutout to all the Maryville fans btw. I will gladly admit when I'm wrong and I was wrong about you all concerning that game with DB. I really thought they might keep it close, at least for a while. Oh well. On to the next one....
  3. Halftime. SH-28 Boone-0 Starting QB, Bedard, is not playing. WR Elijah Mathes is the Topper QB tonight.
  4. It was a concussion from what I've been told. He went airborne trying to get into the end zone and ended up coming down on his head. He actually laid on the field for a couple of minutes before finally standing and walking off. He stayed on the bench for a while before a cart came and took him to the locker room just before halftime. I'm not sure if he'll be playing this week or not. It really wouldn't surprise me either way. This week might be a good one to try and get the backups some much-needed experience.
  5. Gee, how long did it take you to come up with that? That really hurt. I'm guessing you're 10 or 12 or thereabouts? That's the only explanation I have for your childish post. Again, Good Luck to Maryville the rest of the season. You've got a great fanbase aside from several classless idiots.
  6. Like I said, spin it however you like. I wasn't born yesterday, man. You absolutely tried to make a joke here with that comment. And considering it was about a kid that got injured, it wasn't funny. It was classless. But you can keep telling yourself whatever you want. If you really didn't think anything of it you never would've apologized. The apology is proof you know very well it was in poor taste.
  7. Exactly where am I wrong here? I've seen both DB and Maryville in person this year. DB has a bigger, stronger team. DB has just as many atheletes as Maryville. Coaching is the disadvantage for the Indians.
  8. No faith in your team, Waco. Sad. You all have the talent to compete with Maryville. Your team is also bigger and stronger than this year's Rebels team. Your disadvantage is coaching.
  9. Spin it however you like but you made a tasteless crack about an injured kid. Yeah, very funny. Like I said, I encountered several classy Maryville folks this evening. You are not one of them.
  10. You're absolutely right. SH's Defense was worn out in the 2nd quarter. The Offense wasn't far behind. It also doesn't help when so many players play both ways.
  11. Making a joke about a kid being injured is nothing but classless.
  12. SH's Defense was gassed in the 2nd quarter because after Bedard went out the Offense could not move the ball at all. SH's Defense looked very good on the first few series vs the Rebels. They were handling them just fine. It was only after Bedard went out and the Offense went 3 and out after 3 and out that the Defense just gave up. They were worn out and they quit. Bedard would've been able to extend drives to rest the Defense. Our 2nd and 3rd string QB's couldn't do that.
  13. I guess we'll find out soon, won't we? I think DB will be able to hang with them just fine IF they can get their secondary problems fixed.
  14. Would've liked to have seen these two teams face each other at full strength for all 4 quarters but it is what it is. Good Luck to Maryville going forward. Thanks for bringing a great crowd tonight. The few Maryville fans I did interact with at the game were very respectful and I enjoyed talking with them.
  15. They're talking about you, dude. And they're right. Classless post.
  16. I'm not scared of Maryville or their little army on this forum. Big deal. That play where Bedard got hurt tonight was definitely one where I (as well as the rest of the crowd) held my breath. I knew as soon as he went airborne that it wasn't going to end well. I understand he was simply trying to make a play and get in the endzone but he should've just lowered his shoulder there. He may or may not have scored but at least he wouldn't have been injured. The kid's a warrior though and I hate it for him that he did get hurt. I know for a fact that he was really looking forward to the game. You could tell as soon as he went out that every ounce of momentum the Toppers had was gone. The players kind of quit (which was disappointing to see) and the crowd didn't seem into it anymore as well. A very tough night for the Toppers. With that said, I do believe the Indians can beat Maryville. If they can get their secondary up to speed they can absolutely win that game.
  17. I never said I had DB winning. I said I think they have a great shot at beating you all this year. And I do. And I hope our QB heals up quickly too. The team goes as he goes. If he can't play the Toppers are in for a very long season.
  18. Our #2's are Freshman and a few Sophomores that have no Varsity experience. This isn't the game to give them any.
  19. Except at the most important position on the field, where we've been playing our #2 and #3 guy from virtually the very beginning.
  20. Batman, after what I saw tonight, I think your Indians can beat Maryville this year. And I'm by no means an DB fan. I really think you all can get them.
  21. As do the Toppers. However, unfortunately for them, the two behind Bedard have no Varsity game experience. And having to play them against the top team in the state isn't the best time to get them that experience. As I've said, I never said SH would have won the game. I talked to a Maryville fan at the concession at halftime and he said to me "It's a real shame ya'll lost your QB because I think ya'll would've given us a real game if he was still in."
  22. SH's defense was handling Maryville just fine until Bedard went out. Anyone who's being completely honest would say the same thing.
  23. When your Offense can't do anything to help you out the Defense is going to get tired very quickly. That's what happened here. SH had 3 and out after 3 and out once Bedard went out of the game.
  24. It really is shame. It changed everything about the game for the Toppers because the Offense goes as he does. When he went out you could sense the team just kind of quit. Kid was trying to make a great play (Jumping into the end zone) and it cost him. I watched him on the bench after they brought him off the field and he was devastated. I also saw the body language of the team totally change at that moment. I'm not trying to take anything away from Maryville, I just think this truly would have been a close game if the SH QB doesn't get hurt.
