  1. You must not have read my post from last week leading up to our game. Prior to the game with Marion Meigs was only team in the State across all divisions in the top 5 in both offense and defense. Marion had us though in Defense giving up something like 4.8. They were 2nd and we were 4th I believe. Updated results after our 20 to 0 victory over Marion has our D moved up to 2nd in State across all divisions at 5.4 and Marion has dropped to 6th now giving up an astounding 6.4 points per game. Unfortunately Marion did hold us to 20 dropping us from top 3 to 13th now in offense at 42.3 ppg.
  2. I have said that the game was closer than the score but now for a couple days Marion County has been saying how they played the worst game they could have played. Meigs made a lot of mistakes also. Our first possession we drove it down to the one or two yard line on first down and should have easily punched that in. Marion County's Defense stood up right there thanks in part to our play calling but your guys held us and got the ball back for your offense who strung together some nice runs. Meigs outplayed Marion. They were busting through the line. #8 Ben Smith saw that sweep going to # 8 on 3rd and 8 I think it was and hit him in the backfield for a roughly 7 or 8 yard loss. He had no chance. That it's how most of the game played out. I had said these seniors # 1,2,3, 8, 15, 19, 26, 77 were going to show up. Im probably missing several more key contributors. They do every week. This Meigs team more balanced all around. Meigs could have also added another score or two possibly. As easily as you say it could have been one way it could have been the other. Meigs could have won 34 to 0.meigs was content with running clock and punting fourth quarter. Total yards Meigs 270 I think and Marion around 130. Marion only got over midfield one time entire game folks. Furthest they got was the 27 yard line. # 8 for Meigs is special. That kid is all business. He just wants to hit somebody. With Taye they are different animal. It would have been a different game wit hi.. running the ball. Maybe Marion even pulls out the W but all that worst game they played nonsense is a little stretch. Meigs was the reason for that.
  3. Hope you guys get a chance for that rematch. At least it would be in Decatur and we wouldn't have to listen to that dang horn blow. Good luck.
  4. In that case I hope Marion County thrashes H2O in the second round also. I got no problem with you guys either. Marion County put on a good show the other night. Even treated us to a free firework and light show.
  5. Glad we get to avoid you guys this year if we get to the finals. You all got a tough road yourself.
  6. Dang it H2Oman I understand your problem with TC but what you got against Meigs
  7. I dont believe anyone thinks Meigs is not as good as advertised. Marion as well. Meigs has got it done last three years against quality teams in big games, regular season, and playoffs. We are not questioning TC or H20. I would rather play TC than Tyner. Well I'm not playing anyone. I dont even have a kid playing. I got a kid got a friend on the team. Meigs has trouble with teams that throw the ball. I'm assuming TC hasn't changed their offense that much. I'd rather not run into you guys either. Marion on Offense the majority of the time lined up 11 men on line and just ran in. Teams are not going to run on Meigs. Good luck H2O
  8. Have faith in them Rams Ram4Life
  9. We will find out in a couple weeks. Watch some film on Ben Smith along with #'s 1, 2, 3, 15, 19, 26, 77 for Meigs Meigs is elite. They have proven it last couple years against many quality teams. Ask TC about that. Took 2 out of three from them and had the third if we had a kicker but we go for 2 every play that year and had to go for it on 4th and goal from inside 2 because we had no kicker that year. All those numbers I mentioned up there are seniors including Ben Smith who will be All State. He should be Region MVP and defensive MVP. These guys all started and played on those teams. People say Meigs lost a lot or lost Swafford couple years ago or isn't as good. This team has been together since middle school. The competition is what it is. Most games are over early. It's 28 to 0 1st quarter or 45 to 0 at half. You can say they might not be as good as people think because of competition but it's hard for any teams to do that. Meigs, Tyner and Marion will give Region 4 a good challenge. I expect H2O and TC to bring their best and it will be a battle
  10. I dont know much about the TC coaching staff except what is said on here but I can tell you after watching Tyner firsthand I was very impressed. Great play calling. Team discipline and game control. Coaches were involved in every aspect. Preparation was amazing or they had to have an inside man because they new every play we were running minus the one trick play.
  11. They didn't have a problem dealing with Meigs County's physicality. Meigs just manhandled 8 and 0 Marion. Dominated line play and outgained Marion 260 yards to 130. I think Tyner will be alright. TC might be in trouble.
  12. That was rough to lose that game. Rockwood went on to barely lose to Tyner who went to state championship and lost to Union city by one score. Losing Aaron Swafford was heart breaking as a Tiger fan. Especially how it went down that game. I believe if he stays in that game we win by 3 scores at least and go on to bring home the title that year.
  13. I try to encourage are kids to dream big and show them stories from small town kids doing well for themselves. It's just so hard for them to dream that into realization. Like you had mentioned. It takes a lot more than being a great athlete. You got to want it with all you got. You got to have the right mind set. You got to have the heart. The grades. The connections. And people pushing you and caring about you. Sometimes you don't and a kid will still succeed on their on. Those kids are really special. I'm beginning to like you Marion County fellas. You all did put on a great show last night. Those fireworks was nice. The horn was a little annoying but I get it. Everyone I met and talked to was also very cool.
  14. Great news. I seen it and thought we are in trouble cause he was gone and we just got him by the shoelaces. It looked liked an Achilles how he got up but he recovered to quickly for that. Good luck in the playoffs
  15. I hope we get that chance to represent the Eat but playoff football is crazy. Weather, matchups, injuries. Peabody was down and out and all a team had to do was take a knee and screwed that up. I believe we might have had a couple championships if it were not for injuries or other circumstances the last 3 years but it happens to every team this time of year so you just got to deal with it. If we run into a passing team we could be in trouble. Let teams try to run it on us. It dont usually work out. Throw it and you got a chance. Tyner almost got us. I hope we don't run into them again.
  16. Sounds like a solid overall kid. I expect Marion to make a deep run in the playoffs. I believe this loss will give them some fire
  17. I didn't see it either. I was just messing with Roy. I thought the game was much closer than the score. I thought it was huge we didn't punch it in on that first drive and then you all hit us with a couple big runs for first down to get to midfield then that receiver just dropped that pass for wide open TD. There was no one around. If you all take the lead there near end of 1st quarter it could have been a different ballgame. We just tripped up Taye a couple times also. I know one time he had green grass and no one in front of him.
  18. I'm with you Roy. I didn't see it. Maybe they was talking about SAA or SAC division 3 Roy. Just messing around Warriors. Throwing OLE Roy a bone. I know we have had some great lineman at Meigs last couple of years. But that's 2A football. Best any of our guys have done as far as I know is University of Cumberlands or junior college. SEC football caliber lineman however. That's a stretch. I don't believe we at Meigs will have a lineman play college ball and we dominated the LOS tonight.
  19. True. Matchups, weather and playoff football. Might see some crazy things next couple of weeks. Bledsoe could do some damage. Its going to be an interesting couple of weeks. I didn't even check the score for the TC/H2O game until ours was over. I was a little surprised. We got to get it done next week but I don't know who I'd rather see come to the Greater Decatur Metropolis in week 2. TC or Tyner.
  20. He is an amazing athlete and kid. I feel he is overused rather than not using him enough. Up 20 to 0 in the 4th under 10 minutes to go just running the ball knowing we are probably running the ball to run clock and punt its unnecessary for him to get several extra carries when Ben and Key or another back could get those carries. Some of those carries was on like 2nd and 20 or 3rd and 15. He took some big hits. I know they trust him with the ball to make good decisions and not cough it up but it took some big hits late in that game. Yeti your right. He is a great athlete. I believe he had 1 game this year with around 6 or 7 total TD's About 200 passing and rushing that night I think
  21. I thought it would be closer myself. Marion missed an easy TD in first quarter receiver just dropped and that QB about got loose on two plays and got tripped up with one man to beat. Marion looked good. Meigs mixed up enough passing and just pounded it and wanted it more. They fought for every inch and Ben and Logan were amazing tonight. It could have been closer and I think if we play them or Tyner it could be different outcomes. I think we could win by more against Tyner or get beat and same for Marion.
  22. I hope it wasn't a called play because he drilled that next punt 50 yards
