  1. . 7AAA maynot even have a team at the State tournament this year. I'm going to predict whoever wins the Bradley Co vs Cumberland Co region 3 championship game will beat either team that has to travel in the sub-state (and possibly both teams from region 4AAA will get beat in sub-state). Bradley Co and Cumberland Co are as good or better than any team in 7AAA. Region 4AAA is not as dominat as in past years.
  2. I think Bradley Co and Cumberland Co from Region 3AAA have a legit chance to beat Stewart's Creek or Riverdale on their home courts. I think both sub-state games be won by the home team. Don't know who the Region champs will be, but I would say Bradley and Riverdale are the favorites.
  3. Congratulations to Cookeville and Cumberland on 1st round region wins. Good luck against McMinn and Bradley Co. on Monday night.
  4. I agree, Haley did a good job, nobody could have gotten much more out of his girls. His team's won several big games without big name players.
  5. Win- Loss Records Over the past 6 seasons. Dodgen 167-42 79.9% @ Cannon & White Miller 106-80 56.9% @ Galitin & Cumb Odom 89-96 48.1% @ Cookeville only Also, check out on twitter- @bradleychsfan There is a video of Bradley Central hitting a last second 3 pointer to win the district championshio over McMinn Co. Watch Coach Reuter's reaction. I think he has been there before. 6 district championships in a row. Undefeated in district is year. Reuter didn't win COY in 5AAA either. Most wins doesn't always equal COY. Anyway, moving on. COY is old news. Who wins in the Region Matchups? I've got Cumb vs Walker Valley = Cumberland CHS vs East Hamilton = CHS White vs McMinn Co = White Stone vs Bradley Co = Bradley
  6. There is a lot more that goes into the decision of who to vote for on the "Coach of the Year" than number of wins. If it was just based on that, they would change the name to "coach who's team won the most games award". Give credit to the coaches that won. They deserved it. Im willing to bet, none of the coaches had their feelings hurt which caused them not to vote for her. Come on Mv4vols, surely you have more sense then that. Surely, you werent at the last 2 games and witnessed her antics & thought it was ok? Ppl from Cookeville, Stone, White and even from Cumberland were shaking their head in disbelif. Its sad and embarrassing. Not much class or respect for the game or your opponent. Knee slides across the floor in cowboy boots, REALLY? Just because a few idiots from Cumberland applased it and think its cool, doesnt make it ok. IMO, she is not that great of a coach. I was told, she couldn't even figure out how to motivate her team, so she had to bring in the elementary school coach to give her pregame speeches. Maybe the elementary coach should get coach of the year? Obviously her team has the most talent in the district. Don't know of any other team in the District with a D-1 player and a 6'3" Post. Bottom line, she is NOT coach of the year. But, Her team is District Champions. And hopefully, if Cumberland gets to Murfreesboro she will not act like that and embarrass our entire district. Act like you've been there before.
  7. I watched White Co boys play too. Didnt see what you are reffering to as being cocky. My comments and assessment of the Cumberland Co Coach had absolutely Zero to do with the way the kids on the team acted. In my opinion, the Cumberland Co players acted fine, not cocky. It was all of the idiotic yelling, screaming & body antics from the coach on the sidelines. It was like she forgot to take her medication or something. I was embarrassed for her. It was almost funny watching someone act so erratic. Obviously she is not respected by the other coaches in the district. Interested in seeing how she acts tomorrow night against Cookeville.
  8. Congratulations to Cookeville and Cumberland on their wins tonight. Should be an exciting Championship game on Monday night. White vs Stone should be a pretty good Consolation game as well. I think either team could win either game. But I'm sticking with Cookeville and White to win close ones. On a side note, after watching Cumberland Co coach tonight on the side line. I can see why the other district coaches didn't vote her coach of the year. Her sideline behavior was very poor and I can see why she is not well respected within the district if she acts like that every night. Just my own observation.
  9. Congratulations to the 2 District Coach of the Year winners. Mindy Odom (Cookeville) & Michael Dodgen (White Co). Both are very well deserving, however I wonder why they didn't give it to the Coach at (Cumberland Co)? They went 10-0 in district games. Oh well. Also Congratulations to all of the players named to the All District Team. Lots of really good players in the district this year. Looking forward an exciting tournament. I'm picking Cookeville to win, for several reasons. 1.) They are playing on thier home court & they shoot it well at home 2.) They play the most physical brand of basketball out of all the district teams. However, White Co can play physical too. Should be a really good semi-final game. 3.) They are well coached & usually don't beat themselves. They are a patient and very efficient offense team. 4.) They played Cumberland Co. super close both games in the regular season. It's really hard to beat a good team 3 times in a season. And Cumberland Co. is going to be without their All-District point guard. 1st - Cookeville 2nd- Cumberland 3rd- White 4th- Stone How does everyone else see it shaking out?
  10. Congrats to Cumberland, Rhea and White tonight on district wins. Looks like everything is starting to shape up in the standings. White has been the suprise team so far this year. Cumberland is still the measuring stick though. Big games next week. Can't wait to see how things unfold.
  11. Tonight's Games- Rhea @ Cumberland White @ Stone Warren @ Cookeville Cumberland & Cookeville should win easy! White @ Stone could be a close one? White Co definitely the favorite.
  12. Bradley Co is really good again this year. They have just about everyone back from last year. Should be Bradley Co & Cumberland meeting in Region 3 Championship game. Cumberland should win and host Blackman or Riverdale in Sub-State. Bradley will travel to the other. Looks like Region 3 will probably be locked out of Murfreesboro again this year.
  13. Congratulations to Cookeville, Cumberland and White on nice wins today.
  14. Which 6AAA team has the best non district WIN so far this year on their résumé? It seems like we lose to good teams & just about all the teams we beat are aweful. Is our district down that bad this year? --BEST NON DISTRICT WINS-- Cookeville over William Blount 59-55 Cumberland over Clarkrange 79-41 Rhea over GPS 48-42 Stone over Lenoir City 71-59 Warren over Lebanon 46-44 White over Smith Co 60-53
  15. Their starting Junior Post player (Braun) tore her ACL against Cookeville. She will be out for the rest of the season.
  16. Rough Night for District 6AAA. Rhea loses to a weak Signal Mnt team by 6. Stone Memorial gets beat at home by 11 against Livingston. And Cumberland Co. gets hammered by 23 @ Blackman.
  17. Cumberland has 3 maybe 4 other guards just as good as iles. Plus a 6'3 post player better than cookeville's posts. Cumberland has too many weapons to lose to cookeville.
  18. . That's a good point. Cookeville will have to make a lot of 3's. I think they hit 10 against Stone last week. If that happens, who knows? But still don't think it will be enough.
  19. Cumberland wont lose a district game. Cookeville 0-5 against Cumberland last 2 years & have been out scored Last 5 games 347-256. That's an average loss of 18 points per game. This game will be all about guard play. Cumberland guards are better & they beat Cookeville easy 70-50. White wins at home by 8-10. Warren not gonna shoot ball well at White (most teams don't). White more physical than Warren & White point guard a little to good. White is due for a great shooting night. I'm moving White ahead of Warren to 4th best in district. Stone probably has the advantage over Rhea being at home. Stone has more talent across the board, but they are aweful young. Best player in this game plays for Rhea. I still think Stone ends up 3rd in District, so they will need to win this one. Stone wins by 12-15.
  20. Any Predictions on tonight's games? I've got 1. Warren over Siegal in a low scoring close game. Siegal's guards will have trouble. Warren will shoot the ball much better. 2. Cookeville over York by 15+. York will shoot well at home, but won't be able to rebound with Cookeville. If Cookeville shoots well, could be 25+. 3. Pickett in a close one over White? Idk? Pickett drives the ball aggressively and has several players that can shoot it. White will have a hard time guarding Pickett. Maybe Pickett has a hard time guarding White too? Should be an up and down high scoring game. It will be a nice win for White if they can pull it off. Home court advantage might play a role. Pickett is definitely the favorite in their district. Good luck to all 6AAA teams tonight!
  21. I stand corrected -- Luna best player in the gym in White Co tonight. However, she is IMO 3rd best PG in district behind Carlton for Cumberland & Gwynn for Cookeville. Nice win for White Co. Congrats to Cookeville and Cumberland on their wins as well. White better than I expected. Warren, Stone & Rhea all have some work to do.
  22. Good luck trying to get Cumberland to play at 1mph. Warren will try that tonight and will get throtled by 30+. Sounds simple, but Like I said, their guards will dictate the pace of play. Coach Miller will make it a full court game. And I do think Jesse Wallis carries Rhea in a close victory tonight over White unless she gets in foul trouble. She will be the best player in the gym. However, Coach Dodgen will have White Co steadly improving all year. Cookeville prob a little too strong for Stone this early in the season, but Coach Buck will have them where they need to be soon.
  23. District Games Start Tonight - IMO Cumberland easily goes undefeated in district play. NOBODY will play them within 10 points this year. Their guards shoot it too well and apply too much full court pressure & dictate the pace of the game. Cookeville has a slight edge to finish 2nd simply because of their returning upperclassmen and veteran coach. After that it will come down to which team stays healthy, which coach can develop their young players and which team has the best chemistry. 3rd- Stone 4th-Rhea 5th-White 6th-Warren. Should be an exciting year, looking forward to watching all the teams. We will learn alot tonight.
  24. White Co should win by double digits, if they pressure CR young gaurds and front CR post (Garrett). She is CR only legitimate offense threat.
  25. In my opinion this was a great strategic coaching move. TSSAA should not disqualify either team. Both teams in all reality were trying to put their team and school in the best position to win a state championship. The district consolation games are played only for one reason and that is to determine your seed in the region tournament. If you have a better chance winning the region or advancing to the state tournament as 4 seed, then that's what you should do. The quality of basketball played in that game was no different then most of the 1 vs 4 region blowout games tonight. If anything it was probably more entertaining?
