  1. Well, don't guess Ole' Bone has lost it yet. I also talked with a couple fellers that had some info. about the scrimmage, don't know if we can believe them or not, who said basically what 83 said. The only difference was that they said SC beat Tullahoma. That could have been the JV's score added, They said the defense really looked good with a total new attitude this year. Players who were hurt last year really stepped up. Now, don't nun of you knuckleheads think I am saying how good SC is, all I am saying they seem to be improved. Like ole Scooter says sometime, maybe we can beat CC this year. Hey UCM, question for you: What were the two conferences Cookeville, SC, Sparta, Baxter, Livingston and Gainesboro were in? Question was asked what would be a win/loss record that would indicate SC is startinf to turn their program around. All of you know programs go in cycles. SC went thru that cycle and appears to be gaining their swagger back. Not unusual for this to happen to any program. Various reasons cause this: lack of athletes, attitude, injuries, coaching and a sundry of other things. I hope we can win at least 6 games this year and go to the playoffs. Optimistic or realistic? Very good group of young kids playing now AND on the way. That is what Bone says and I believe it!!!!!! Good luck to all and to all keep those injuries down
  2. Ole' Hambone heard that White Co., Smith County, Trousdale Co. and Tullahoma scrimmaged last night. Has Bone lost his mind or has anyone heard results?
  3. Been around the world and going again. I crop dust in TX and OK. Don't call anywhere home. Have some kin folk in Dekalb and Smith County. Have a nephew that plays for Smith and have two nephews in Dekalb that are too young to play at present. UCM I would like to get you in my duster for a couple rounds.......
  4. Hambone says they are the ones you have to watch
  5. I ain't Scoot but I heard that they went 7 on 7 with Macon and Smith did not have their starting qb, was out of state at a camp, and SC mopped them up pretty good. Wasn't close. Got to remember though, MC's qb strength is running the ball. In a real game setting, I am sure it will be much closer.
  6. The person I talked with said they had a slew of backs that looked good, especially the transfer, passing game was ok and the defensive backs looked lost, that was how White Co.moved the ball. Surprising to hambone because I thought they returned most of their DB's.Anyway, what does hambone know? keep on smoking those stogies.
  7. Hambone says they might be hiding in Cannon County behind the field house to see what they look like. Smith beat White Co. 5 to 4 in their only scrimmage.
  8. Hambone wonders if that post man feller is the one who took a ball bat and beat the windshield out of a school bus there in westmoreland? Smoke that stogie
  9. Hambone says UC Man correct. Smoke that stogie!
  10. Heavens no, not Twan! From what I hear, you guys will have a good team next year.
  11. Hambone says a lot of successful HS programs are the direct result of Jr. High teams following the same schematics of their high school. When the kids get to HS they don't have to learn new plays, terminology, blocking schemes and the whole ball of wax.. Smoke that stogie
  12. Hambone says both views should get a stogie (cigar) and smoke it. If you have the MATERIAL to run the wingT, by all means run it. Beware though, you just don't decide to run the T and expect it to be a success immediately. It takes years to develop the offense. You almost have to come out of the womb learning to run the Wing T. If you have sprinters that burn the field, Lordy, Lordy get in the spread offense and look in your rear view mirrors and Beep-Beep outta' there. All of this said, run the offense you have thee material to run, as all you posters already know. Puff that stogie
