  1. It's funny that all of the OR fans are complaining about Catholic not being fair. When if you asked Joe Gaddis, then he would say he wants to play the best, public or private. Shut up and just root for your team. Some OR fans complained about the difficulty of the first four games, now your whining about the unfairness of having to play Catholic. To be honest, your embarrassing yourselves. And it should be really embarrassing that you don't know who number 68 is for Catholic!!!
  2. Whatever man. Those kids don't read this crap we put on here. I agree with SS. They better suck it up and get ready to be men in the real world if what s bunch of "grown men" hurt their feelings. Grow up. We haven't improved throughout the season for the past few years, I do not see it happening this year, and again I do not blame it on the players. It's the coaching!
  3. I agree 100%. And I don't blame it on the players.
  4. Well I hope Jordan is not hurt. The sideline tackle after the kickoff return did not look good. I have to say that I have no faith in this staff turning this thing around. There I said it. We have been heading downhill since he took the QB job from #17 after going 12 and 1 a few years back. Really sad with all of the talent.
  5. Our line has plenty of size, they have to be coached. They are again running the wrong offense with the wrong guy at quarterback. I really do not want to say all the things I could say. This group from last years seniors to this years sophomores should be competing for state titles instead we are getting knocked out of the playoffs by freaking Walker Valley and getting absolutely man handled by Farragut. I do not see it getting better, I never predict a game especially when I believe that we'll lose, but I do not see it getting any better. I'm not knocking our QB, he's a heck of an athlete but he should be leading our defense at MLB!!
  6. Haha!!! Unbelievable!!! Guys, this is not good. Let's face it. There are major problems in this program.
  7. You can try and be nice or tell it like it is. We have complained about the line for the past 4 or 5 years, even when Younger was there. The players are not being developed like they should. Taught the fundamentals from day one. We need the freshmen and JV to have there own coaching staff, period. How Gaddis expects one staff to do it all is beyond me, there is not enough time to teach and develop the players from day one at the high school.
  8. That's my point Cats. How many different offenses has Gaddis implemented since he's been back?
  9. That's right SS. Look across the teams in Tennessee, they are not all huge. This offense does not fit our linemen. They need to fire off and use quickness to get to the DL if that is there assignment. The linebackers are not getting blocked because our linemen are, for the most part, standing up and waiting on the defense to come to them. Thus the linebackers and safeties go unblocked. Get under the center give Graham a lead back and a sixth man to block, I.e. a tight end and then see what you get. When the defense comes up to stop the run, then go to your slot or big outside receiver down field. We run the wrong offense!!!
  10. How big do you folks expect high school line men to be. When I played we had guys from 190 to 210 tops. Went 12 and 1 and had a thousand yard back. They do not have to be big, they have to be coached.
  11. How long was Graham's TD on that drive?
  12. We will see Friday night. I am afraid their going to rely on Graham too much. Not sure they'll be able to move the ball on drives.
  13. I remember him all through boys club and at Jefferson. He is a hitter and can cover side to side well. I never understood him being at QB. He is also a good between the tackle runner.
  14. Our replacement for Clark is playing QB!
  15. SS - I don't know who you are but I'd like to meet ya. Especially if you played under Coach Younger. I am not keen on all the political correctness either. You all have a good weekend.
  16. Dang SS - you are on today. It sounds like some folks took what Tre said last night out of context, according to Bounder, just to try and bash our earlier comments about the concerns that we have about the program. There is no doubt that the young men play hard. I was at the game last night, the fans love OR football, and there was a good crowd and the defense was on with the exception of a few close calls on the deep pass. My concern is mainly with the offense. We need some shoring up there.
  17. I could not have said it better SS. Great post!!
  18. It was a good win. Offense was very sloppy but the defense stepped up. No one ever said that he was stupid cats, no one. And we never were critical of the kids. Just the coaching and play calling. SS tells it like he sees it. I hope like heck that we win a state championship this year. That should always be our goal here, period. And as for Jackson saying that the community was not supporting them, looked like a heck of a crowd on a Thursday night to me. Now let's win a state championship!!!
  19. SS-I do hope that we can catch fire...just not much optimism. We certainly should have won more than 1 state championship in the late 80's and 90's. We have a lot of talent right now and in the next few years, just hope that we get a team like the '91 team that wins it despite these problems.
  20. Thanks RW 87- that is a lot better way to put it. I struggled with a way to word that properly. My son knows the kid that you were referring to. That is great. This is the structure that we need. Each kid accountable for themselves and their team.
  21. This is exactly what I am talking about. If we had this kind of discipline here at OR, we not only weed out the bad kids, we will also start challenging for state championships. Discipline has always been a problem for JG. Hence the reason there is only 1 state championship under his belt. SS-unfortunately you are correct about missing workouts and getting to start. It is worse than most folks know.
  22. He said that it is hard to do. He agreed that winning is not everything, it is important what type of young men we send out of our program. RW87-how does discipline and mentoring affect the Maryville program? I, from the outside looking in see it as a huge reason why they have such success at football and their sports programs.
  23. Our talent level has gone up since JG came back but because the coaches have put players in the wrong place and our seconds and thirds have not been coached in order to improve our depth. Then we have gone backwards when we should be improving and getting closer to competing for a state title. The east is weak right now, we should win these games, no offense to McMinn or Webb, but we should beat them right now. Oak Ridge athletics is stale. I spoke with our athletic director about mentoring and discipline earlier this week from our coaches, and if we had that, how our performance on the fields or courts would show that over time. Question is, do we have the right coaches and leaders in our athletic program?
