  4. End 3rd UHS 47 LA 37 U came out like they had it won, LA came out to play
  5. After today's action, what are the scenarios based on the potential outcomes for the final games? If UHS wins, are they an auto one seed, or are there other considerations? As stated before, a good team or two isn't going to make it out of the district.
  6. No, JE wasn't tripled on the layups (and he did miss some). I was referring to the set offense.
  7. If I were a coach, and someone wanted to front one of my players all over the floor, I wouldn't care if that player scored at all. I'd play 4on4 all day, especially if the rest of the D was packed in on my post. UHS has enough spot up shooters that they can sacrifice a "respectable" game for Guffey and still get a win. And that's the point, even if he's not getting the numbers, he's still helping his team win. Not sure who said YAI's perimeter player were mediocre, is this your opinion or someone else's? As for the double teams, pretty much all teams are coached that when the ball goes to the post, the D collapses, whether man or zone. So effectively, most all post players are "doubled" or at least see help side defense. Endicott was tripled (high/low/baseline) for the most part tonight and as a result didn't have his best game. But, Guffey was able to make this an ineffective strategy with his scoring ability. Not sure how many steals/caused turnovers he had on the defensive end as well.
  8. Is the King kid okay? Saw him go down in the second, not sure if he came back. Looked like a knee/leg.
  9. Wow, he'll be unstoppable in a couple of years, if not sooner.
  10. Agree, would be a shame if one of those two doesn't get it. What year is Shepperson?
  11. A couple of observations after tonight's UHS/SC game: As for the best team in the district, I've now seen the re-match for three of the four teams that have beaten UHS. Scratching my head over how they lost those games the first time around, but they are high school kids. After the last York game, I felt like UHS wouldn't lose again until at least the sectional. Still feel like they won't, but again, who knows what will happen with 16-18 year olds. As for the best player, Guffey was the best on the floor tonight. The kid from Smith does have a good inside game, but BG is a threat from anywhere on the court. In the York game, BG was on the opposite side of the floor from the ball, 25 ft from the basket, and had a guy denying him. I've seen this in other games as well. He may not always have the top stat line, but him getting this kind of attention really opens it up for others. Any player getting this kind of focus from the other team is certainly deserving of MVP consideration.
