Daniel Boone purposely change their game to the Thursday night before The Elizabethton Game to avoid playing Elizabethton. The Game was to be televised live and now leaves Elizabethton with just 3 home games. Just because coaches had vacation planes and didn't want to play on Saturday of Sunday or even Monday like every team in the state did. A couple of years ago Unaka High had injuries to the point that they couldn't play a playoff game and TSSAA threatened to suspend Unaka in post season in all sports. Same should be done to Daniel Boone.

Now do Alcoa vs Greeneville no contest…

I'm sure more influential people have probably tried to get it worked out but ultimately it comes down to coach and what he wants.

You are absolutely 100% correct. And it did come down to the coach, on more than one occasion over the last few years! :thumb:

Wishing Betsy the best of luck this season!

Got to see the Bearden Alcoa game rerun Bearden flat out beat themselves and should have or could won by 10 IMO

But they didn’t…Alcoa took the ball 99.7 yards and took the game like champions do. I’ll give Bearden one thing, they had the nuggets to play. Good luck with the rest of your teams season…:thumb:

Here is my take on the game.

Greeneville dominated the first quarter and Alcoa gained momentum back in the 2nd Quarter after the pick 6 and had the momentum before the weather delay. (Don't get me started on who ever made the play call to throw a roll out pass on your own 1 yard line instead of trying to get some breathing room and then run that play).  Alcoa had made adjustments and Greeneville needed to make them on the O side of the ball.  Greeneville was definitely gassed before half with so many players going both ways.  Alcoa needs to keep Graf as the QB and believe he is the better of the two QB's.  Pagach didn't look like a 3star QB with an Int (Almost threw two more). #7 Cannon is the cog that makes Alcoa's offense run and he is a great RB and LB.

I also think people need to Call out Steve Starnes (The Greeneville Superintendent) for not at least waiting until midnight if the Alcoa Superintendent agreed to a midnight cutoff.  I also would like to see the game made up because it was a slug fest between tow great teams.  I can guarantee you players on both sides are feeling beat up today and cheated they didn't get to finish.

100% spot on!!! Pagach was under extreme pressure to start the game and a few of the play calls and missed routs didn’t help. Credit to the Greeneville D! Hate we missed ya again. I’m guessing we picked the wrong location? BPM is planning on being back sometime in October. Hopefully we can try Hot Rods again! Good luck to the Devils! :thumb:

Bvd is doing well he is back to making videos for the devils im actually surprised he hasn't jumped on for this game but as far as places to eat I personally recommend Top Choice BBQ, but we also have pals, Aubreys, Monterreys if you like Mexican but tbh with you the burgers at burley stadium are fantastic

Great to hear about BVD! :thumb:

Better get it going quickly. They have a 5Star QB on the rise so they will definitely have team built around him. That is if he doesn't transfer. Only in 7th grade now.

Gotcha!  Our AD can only ask, it’s up to AC to accept or decline. So far, it’s been decline. Hopefully that 5 star can persuade a different response…:popcorneater:

I’ll be there and looking forward to meeting you!  Hate I missed you when I got to meet @BCsportsfan and @BIGPURPLEMACHINE earlier this year at Hot Rod’s. (Boy did BPM run the table when we were there ).

When it comes to places to grab some grub you have Pals is always a good choice but you will have to drive a little bit farther east from downtown to find the Sit down location in the Greeneville Commons. If you are looking for a great steak you will want to got to the Butcher Block, BBQ Top Choice is good, Or The Harvest for some country cooking (It's on the way into town from the Exit). Mexican food is going to be Monterrey or Cancuns are my go to We also have chains like Aubrey's and Applebees. If you get into town early enough there are a lot of great lunch spots they stay open until 2 like Tipton's and The Tannery.

As for the game Greeneville will need to play mistake free football, cut down on penalties, and get some pressure on the QB. We have athletes but can’t let Alcoa’s QB to have forever in the pocket or he will pick us apart with Owen’s, Cannon, and Winton.  On O Greeneville needs to mix it up and try to Keep Alcoa guessing (Easier said than done with Nix).  I look for a hard hitting game that both teams are better for playing each other!

Thanks Swipes! I’ll get with the guys and let you know. I hate I missed it. Watching BPM run the clock on table scraps is something to see!  A video of him at work would make a great advertisement!

Alcoa will need to do the same with mistakes and penalties.  Looking forward to this game. Should be a good one along with a great high school football atmosphere! Can’t believe it’s been so long since our last matchup. No reason these two shouldn’t play every year. Would also like to see Betsy and AC get on board. :thumb:

Several of us plan on heading your way early. If there is some place you recommend to meet and eat, we would definitely enjoy it. Haven’t heard from BVD. Hope he’s doing okay. :thumb: Batman, GDA, GG, Swipes and anyone I might be missing, hope to see y’all!!

Do they have key injuries or something? Was thinking this was a top tier team that could possibly compete with Alcoa this season. Last week squeaked by Cocke Co, then I see them lose to Carter.

    Thanks

    GP would struggle in 2A….

Yes, I have seen that numerous times and I can clearly see it and everyone else can clearly see that defender saw the ball up in the air stuck his arm up so the receiver couldn’t catch the ball never making contact with the receiver even though you said he touched his facemask, which no he didn’t, you can clearly see it that’s why his arm up only made contact with the receiver when the ball was long gone from reach.

but come up with an excuse you want to it was definitely not passing interference:roflol:

Your boys had the ball first and goal (with a 3 point lead) at the Alcoa 1 yard line with less than 5 mins left in the game and completely blew it. You should be spending your emotional energy on getting past that. Take the L and move on. You still have plenty of football left to play….:thumb:
