  1. This is a true pick em! Polk has got to get something going on offense. They have looked really sluggish there. I’m going to say Polk finds a rhythm on O this week and grinds Marion down. Polk-28 Marion-21
  2. I always enjoy watching good, physical football. And that’s what those to teams treated us to. Good luck to the Tigers.
  3. Also, any word on the kid from Polk that had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital? Heard it was a possible neck injury. Hope he is okay.
  4. Sweet? I kind of thought it was embarrassing. When you offer free admission, free food, and basically beg people to come; and you still can’t turn out more people for a postseason game than a junior varsity football game. That’s sad truly. As far as internal issues? That surely didn’t show last night, and I haven’t heard any of that. I think your group would like to think you have caused issues, but your group is too irrelevant for that to happen. But that’s none of my business. Great job by Coach Davis and staff last night. Those kids play their tales off! Meigs had Polk outmatched but still fought to the end. Go Wildcats.
  5. Too many weapons on offense for Polk and Coach Davis always has a good defensive plan. I’ll take Polk by 3 scores.
  6. Hope Polk is healthy. They had quite a few kids get hurt yesterday. I’m guessing 5 or 6 went down. Even if healthy Polk will need to do a better job on defense to hang in this one.
  7. Polk’s backfield will be too much for Central. Hopefully the defense can rebound from a rough performance against Tyner. I’ll say Polk-35 Central-0
  8. I have actually. Half of the kids from that class are not on the high school team anymore for various reasons. While I’m commenting on that, little league success doesn’t necessarily transfer to high school success. The eighth grade team plays only teams that surround our county. While the high school team plays teams from Chattanooga, Marion Co, and so on. If PCHS played only teams from around our county, they would have good success year in and year out. When you have to play Tyner, Marion, Whitwell, and Meigs (not Rogers Creek) things get a little tougher.
  9. There are currently 3 or 4 volunteer coaches that are former players. They all have full time jobs so it’s hard for them to help much. Thanks.
  10. I wish you were right but I just don’t see it. In my opinion, there are one or two good players in that class, and that’s it. Like I said, I hope you are right but I don’t think so.
  11. We have had several great players try to come back and coach. They get their teaching degree and then the administration won’t hire them. So they end up coaching somewhere else or leaving the county. It’s not from lack of trying that Polk doesn’t have more coaches, it’s the poor administration.
  12. Those were fun matchups with great environments. Loved to watch games at your stadium. I hate the way things are for the kids and coaches at Polk. They are given no support from the higher up administration because they really don’t care about athletics. I think Coach Davis has two full time assistant coaches now, one of those being his dad who is retired. It’s hard to keep pace with other schools when that is the case.
  13. I’m afraid not. They start a lot of seniors. This team had really good potential, but when this season comes to an end the will lose a lot of good players. The feeder program into PCHS is pitiful and it isn’t going to produce any good kids until they get a middle school team coached by someone that at least knows the fundamentals of the game. Talent will drop back off after this year.
  14. I don’t know if they could’ve beaten Alcoa or not. Would have loved to seen that match up though. During half of that 14 year stretch not everyone made the playoffs, and at the end of that stretch Polk would have been a district champion in about any district you can think of. I don’t know what’s up with all the Polk hate from you.
  15. Based on what I saw when I went to the Polk vs Sequoyah scrimmage, I would pick Central. But apparently Sequoyah is much improved from then, or just had a bad outing on that particular day. So who knows about this one.
  16. What is up in Englewood? I haven’t heard Central fans this negative in a while. Is the talent pool just down at Central or are kids just not coming out for football?
  17. I love this type of old school match up. Both teams will pound the ball at each other. It’ll be a fun game to watch but at the end of the night, Tyner just has more playmakers than Polk Co. Tyner wins this one, but closer than most people think.
  18. Have you seen Polk play? I don’t recall anyone from the Polk camp on here raving about them being so much better. Just curious as to why you don’t think they have improved? And “unusually good for a couple of years”?? Try 14 playoff appearances in a row. They were a powerhouse from 2009-2013. Would’ve probably won the state championship three times in that stretch if the classifications were like they are now.
  19. Not so fast Bassy. You are pretty quick to call Polk weak. Please note their losses are to Whitwell (9-1), Meigs (10-0), a Marion team that I can’t believe has only won 5 games (they were state runner up last year), Tyner (8-2 Region Champ), East Ridge (7-3) by 3 points, and a give away game to Sweetwater. Polk might not win this one, but to say it will be a blow out is inaccurate. This will be a close game and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Polk moves on. Go Wildcats!
  20. This is a interesting match up for sure. Funny that people are talking about the South Pitt games of the past on here, because I was just telling someone Friday that this game has that same feel to it. I hear that Whitwell's defense is for real. It will be interesting to see how they fair against Polk's non typical offense. Another thing to watch is if Polk can improve its run defense. I think they have given up a long rushing TD in every game. I think this one will be close one way or the other. Go Wildcats!
  21. Another district game this Friday. Polk got a much needed win against McMinn Central last week and looked somewhat better defensively. They still need to clean up the tackling. It will be interesting to see what Tellico's game plan to slow down Polk's ground game. Go Wildcats
  22. The stock in the 2017 Wildcats has went way down. They have a lot of issues and seem to be regressing. They have some really talented young players and several good juniors but this senior class isn't what I thought it could be. Those seniors have a few that seem like they couldn't care less about being on the field, and the younger guys are making all the plays. This team could be really good if it had some veterans that would take charge. Until I see something that changes my mind I won't pick this team to win another one. Hope they come out with a different outlook on Friday. Go Wildcats!
  23. From what I hear the Cats are real dinged up. Several injuries. Really unfortunate for them with this being the first region game. Still won't be surprised if this team upsets Tyner Friday. Go Wildcats!
  24. I know the Rams are 0-2 but I'm sure they have played two pretty good teams. Polk played poorly against a pretty good East Ridge team and came up short. Are we in for another close game? Would love to know more about Tyner, are they actually down or have they just played two good teams. Go Wildcats!
  25. It was a fun game to watch. Polk didn't put on a good defensive performance. If they would have gotten just one stop they would have won the game. But IF's don't win games. ER is a real good team, lots of play makers. They are gonna win some ball games. Go Wildcats!
