  1. I understand that #50 Silvey will return next year. He did a decent job against our boys Friday, but was hyped up too much. Best lineman in the state? Ok. Wouldn't matter if he was. He needs to learn to control himself on the field if he wants to play on a higher level. He obviously wasn't able to play on ours. There were multiple instances where he should've been thrown out of the game. When you and your team are getting whipped, it is the most cowardly thing to take cheap shots at the other team's QB. That's how I knew it was over... because he already knew. We've seen that behavior from kids all year. Right when you've got them on the ground and step on their throat, everyone knows it... and that's when they start playing dirty... and boy is it fun to watch. We know that he's done things like this before, and he did it Friday. Someone needs to learn that boy a lesson before next year or he'll be kicked out every game. Ridiculous.
  2. We have #4 at QB as a sophomore next year. Has great potential, but a senior will most likely get the job next year. Had to sit out this year because of transfer. Look for #8. At RB, we have a pair: a rising Junior and Sophomore. Both very quick and elusive...and hungry for playing time.
  3. Like a DVD copy? How much? Where? Like the TV copy? With commentators and all?
  4. I can assure you that whoever you lost are not as valuable as Mareio and Daniel. And I can honestly say that we have depth that would've filled that hole nicely. Wait until next year when you see the elusiveness of #11 and the speed of #26... If you make it that far. Not saying that they'd fill the shoes of 12 and 35 necessary, but we definitely COULD'VE been in the Big Game with them in the backfield. I'm dead serious. We've also suffered throughout the year, believe it or not. In a preseason scrimmage against Pearl Cohn, our All-District MLB and starting fullback tore his ACL, and BOOM. We're out an extremely valuable asset. Not to mention the state's interception leader in 2014, team's star wide receiver, and one of the best punt/kick returners I've ever seen tragically lost in an automobile accident days before the season started. My point in all of this is that teams should be able to overcome adversity. Yours didn't.
  5. Just wondering.. Is there any way that I can get a copy of the game that I can watch anytime I want. Like from a TV's perspective. Commentators and all. (If there is any) I'll be at the game, and would love to watch it back for years to come.
  6. Horse I kinda like you, but it honestly wouldn't have mattered. Your Mustangs having 2 good players back wouldn't have made a difference against the NCS defense, and if they did, it still wouldn't have matched the points that the NCS offense put up on y'all. WC is the 2nd best team in 1A
  7. This is all in good fun. Better be happy you're not playing Peabody this week. We took care of that for you. They talked real trash all week and couldn't play up to it. I can assure you that we won't do that.
  8. Very true. Our line struggled in the regular season and in the first half of that game. 43 points in the 3rd quarter later... we've found ourselves as a team.
  9. I don't believe that anyone claimed Nashville Christian superior to anyone. And we lost to JP2 fair and square. Their offensive strengths were our defensive weaknesses, and they had great depth. They didn't have that many players on the sideline, and nobody made excuses. I honestly think that our starters were better than theirs, we just didn't match up well. I think that it came down to their ability to make plays with their strengths against our weaknesses. We led at half, but they maintained most momentum after that. They threw a couple trick plays in there as well that they scored on and it drained our momentum. You must say that a 1A team even matching up against a D2AA school is impressive in itself.
  10. Well that left guard sure had no problem doing on that TD run of play 37 on the Harriman vs Greenback film.
  11. The question is...Can they stop the run? Can they stop Bituli and McGraw? How do they match up against the run? It's what we do best. When we faced CA the past two years, they were a passing based offense. We shut that down pretty well though. It seems that GB did too, but can they shut down the run. Can they shut down OUR run? And can any GB people tell me about the offense y'all run? Again, I haven't got to watch much film yet .
  12. #54 weighs about 285. He has been at NCS since 8th grade. When he first came, he was skinny as a rail. I was questioning why our coaches put him at lineman. He lives about 5 minutes away from the school...with traffic. Good ole hard work, lifting, and a whole lot of eating got him to be the big man he is today. #79 doesn't weight 300. His parents graduated from NCS. Btw he doesn't even start yet. Good luck next year with him. #70 weighs 260. He's never played football in his life until this year, and has seen the field in maybe 3 plays this year. #56 came to NCS in 7th grade, and originally quit football for a few days because he was unsure. Hard work has gotten these men where they are.
  13. You've got some young studs. #20 is a game changer. We prepared well for him for the past 2 years, and it looks like we'll have to prepare for him again next year when we plan to see y'all in the playoffs. Y'all will most likely be the favorite next year with our huge loss of talent, but don't count us out. As for #20 goes, I can assure you that every lineman on the NCS team knows the name "Birchett".
  14. There's been too much of this private vs public/recruiting/fans of teams that our teams have put out arguing with each other. Can we talk football for a little? Score predictions? Absolutely no disrespect to Greenback, but I know that most are predicting a blowout. I haven't gotten a chance to watch much film. How do you think the teams will match up? That's what it's really about. Peabody matched up well with Union City, but not with us. Just want to see how people with unbiased opinions feel about the match up. I'm very glad to hear that the Greenback boys will be bringing their A game. I've heard that they play with heart, and Wayne County is the only team that I've seen do that in the playoffs this year, and they fought with us until the last minute. I assure you that we'll bring our best game as well. Should be a great night filled with great memories made by both teams.
  15. Not bashing you in any way in that last post, just making a point to everyone. Just used your post as an example haha. And as far as I remember, your son matched up decently well with him. Even on 1 and 1/2 knees. He's redshirted at Ole Miss now, and I'm sure they'll continue to beef him up. Maybe he'll catch your so-called "pitbull instinct" somewhere along the way as well.
  16. Mr. Givens had also been attending Nashville Christian School since he was in 3rd grade. We recruit out of elementary school now, right? God forbid that the kids drive across town to get a good education. I can tell you right now that there are kids who drive 45 minutes or even an hour from places ALL OVER TENNESSEE who will never step on a football field (or any athletic playing field or court) so that they may get a good education in a good environment. You can ask anyone. We are a family, and I can guarantee you that none of these dads feel any danger toward their boys while they're at school. That is why it's worth the drive for some people. As for everyone else that has been talking recruiting, let me remind you of an incident during the 2013 season. In our big win over Harpeth (55-24), Coach Brothers found out after the game that he'd played an ineligible player in the final minutes of the game. He was a sophomore that played safety. He contributed nothing to the game. No tackles. No broken passes. Nothing. But he was on the field. The punishment according to the TSSAA? A forfeit. And Coach Brothers knew that, and that's what Coach Brothers did. It could've been so very easily swept under the rug. You should've seen the faces of the kids when he had to break the news to him. That started our soon to be undefeated regular season with a big whopping L on the schedule. My whole point to the story is that if you're questioning the integrity of Coach Brothers and his coaching staff (which you ARE doing, and with no respect, I might add) then you are sadly mistaken. From the example he has given to these boys, (from this event as well as everything else he does) his integrity is the last that I'd question.
