Haven't been on coacht at all since the Boyd whining a couple months ago but couldn't help chime in. I am not a fan of Marion's ex coach at all, especially since he never acknowledged Boyd kicked their rear mid season and all he could say was they played bad. Crap. Another story however. As far as helping kids get to college, especially the QB? I have met famer several times and both him and son are class acts. Outstanding individuals. But unless a kid is a 4 or 5 star athlete it is very difficult to get in the radar of schools. Coaches can only do so much. My opinion and its opinion only is that boring old fashion offense Marion runs (wing t or whatever the heck it's called) does no favors for a QB wanting to play at next level. How many colleges run that offense? Maybe fine for a down lineman or defensive player but I would think it would be tough for a QB even though he was an outstanding player in that scheme.

Was fortunate to have conversations with many schools and coaches over the past 2 years with #9. Some schools more serious than others and several with offers, but by far the best group around was UTC by a landslide. Coach Healy was first class all the way. Will never forget when #9 broke right hand and was basically done for season and Coach Healy went into locker room and consoled a crying 17 year old kid that was heartbroken. Priceless.

Guess been hanging around Slice too much the past 4 years and was just trying to ruffle some feathers. I'm still sulking from the loss since I am a bad loser. Just honest. Guess things worked out the way they were supposed to and we will never know. Thanks for the kind words about UTC. I am done now!

Good topic, and my last post for me EVER since its time to move on. Bod didn't blame injuries either but without them this post would be Trezevant vs. BOYD. Is part of the game. Just saying......

Boyd Coach always shows class. Read where Tyners coach referenced they were not as healthy during first game against Boyd and said "not making excuses but..." Think Boyd's coach used that in his comments anywhere? Nope. Let's remember that Boyd's strength this year started in the OL/DL, guys who rarely get credit. Boyd had 2 senior lineman that were hobbling around with an ankle and knee injury and #9 was on sideline again. Just glad our coach showed class and did not start the excuse game. Great season Bucs.

Disappointing loss but not a major upset. No concerns about coming back next week now, even though that was the plan. Believe Boyd would have won tonight in different circumstances but just was not meant to be.

Finally turned 17

Hope #9 can help extend it 5 more games. Back soon.

Instead of me wearing my speedo and attracting too many girls, I'm going to sell all of the extra hand casts and splints I have saved in the past weeks. That should cover a years worth of paint.

Partial but here goes:1. Good sound coaching especially defensive side 2. Heady tough QB who can run a little and pass if given the opportunity 3. 3 year starters who play both ways on line and LBs 4. TE who has already committed to UTC and had several other offers 5. RB who runs hard and could probably play at next level somewhere 6. Team chemistry. No heroes and they like each other. Goes a long ways. 7. No glaring weaknesses compared to previous 2 years. Could go on but tired of typing. Of course I am partial but you asked!

Another year of maturity, and Senior leadership. Had little Sr. leadership last year, plus these guys have been playing together for a long, long time. They all hang out together, and are best friends. Team chemistry is great as well, which goes a long ways.

Great post and so true. I would have a little more respect for the Coach as well if he would have given any credit whatsoever to Boyd but he did not. All he mentioned was they played bad. How about he got out coached, Boyd outplayed them, and they did just lose to a better team on that night. Period. No excuses. IF next time comes around I'm sure it will be another game. Shame with the way the brackets set things up they could not have chance to meet in finals in Cookeville.

Awesome game between two classy programs. Defense coordinator for Boyd has those guys playing lights out. Prayers for Logan kid. Tough competitor. Throw a few out there for Buc TE DE 09 playing with cast on wrist. Hope not more damaged incurred.
