  1. Guess almost a year late of noticing this is better than nothing. Seems like Dovonan like 9 better on offense than defense like TWSA. Me to.
  2. Each his own opinion but not sure I would agree with MC owning the East for past 3 years. Similar to Ohio State, MC couldn't win the Region last year. And similar to the injuries you guys complain about during the 4th quarter and the 'plays' that were not run that would have made a difference, Boyd injuries last year allowed MC to slip in. Boyd defense would have shut the running back down last year and would have been state champs. Yea would have could have. Ha. Just my opinion.
  3. FYI, Childress guy actually good guy. We were teammates in collegiate basketball for 4 years. Was always a no nonsense guy.
  4. Well 42 years ago they weren't near what they are today in size! Heck back then even going to Loudon, our hated rival only 5 miles away, felt like leaving home! 😂
  5. Good luck with both jobs! Haha. It is a lot of work and takes special kids to keep up the grind. Wish we had had a 2nd meeting last year but wasn't in the cards. Tell your boy good luck
  6. Got a good friend who has grandkids that go to NCS. Had him read your bs and he pretty sure you and girl reporter same person. Humm Well like a give a rat what you say with some idiotic post. Go back and look at one of my previous post about the kid and you will notice I said for the media and people to leave it alone and get off the topic, since I thought it was wrong to even bring it up. Ask warriorhallfamer about me if you need something to do today. Just love posters like you. Bhahaha
  7. Beerman believe you should lay off the beer with that attitude and stupidity. Big difference abut a kid that starts in grade school there or middle school vs kids that magically show up in high school. In the 7 years I followed Boyd one kid showed up from Cleveland and one from McCallie (but hadn't play football in over a year). Point was not to debate your pointless rant about Boyd but just to say where is loyalty to a community. Boyd has no community. Privates typically don't. In fact, Chattanooga or any big city with tons of schools don't have a community like I grew up in and like SP and MC. Personally think it's sad in a lot of ways for kids. Intent was not to bash SP but rather to point out how things are much different today. You seem to have a habit of trying to poke at stuff, but this ole man can just chuckle at your examples.
  8. Missing the Friday night lights but hanging in there. Boy a boy amoungst men at this stage. Actually loving it and school even though redshirt year. 2nd operation last year on wrist didn't heal until past July so some catching up was needed, but plenty of time. Hope that boy of yours enjoying baseball at Tech
  9. Guess my age and ole school mindset doesn't fit in today's recruiting world of high school athletics, but where did loyalty go with the community the kid was raised in? I have no problem with situations where a family moves due a job situation, but to move to 'greener pastures' for HS athletics? Really? That's what has always bothered me about SP and MC. Kids chasing a winning program and parents promoting that instead of teaching the kids about loyalty where there roots are. I grew up in small town with 3 red lights, and most hated rival was 5 miles across the bridge. Greenback was hardly in the radar, but Alcoa and Maryville were all close. Anyone back in those days who ever thought of leaving for another program would have been considered scum. Period. Parents taught us to be loyal and do the best we could with the deck of cards dealt. Chasing perceived winning programs? Why? Better chance of collegiate play? Nope. A kid good enough to play college can be found at a fishing hole. Don't understand it. Never will. Teaches kids the wrong thing.
  10. Even though I have no dog in hunt anymore, this is the most interesting and somewhat hilarious thread I do believe I have ever read. Just by reading this banter makes this ole man realize just how the vast majority of you 'valley fellows' and 'mountain guys' need to get a life and quit living your dreams through some high school football program(s).. Pulling for your team is totally different from what this thread has turned in to. Reading the article in the paper today did state that the individual in question had a pattern, stating that he was in juvenile court in January. Interesting. However, 2nd chances are good, especially for young kids, and having an opportunity to be part of an athletic program with a 'father figure' around could help a kid stay on the straight and narrow..however, this was 2nd time? Athletics is a privilege, not a right. How does the punishment fit the crime in this situation, when no crime has been proved? Lots to think about. But, here's the question? How many other schools in the Chattanooga area would have accepted the situation and allowed a 3rd chance? Also, is there just jealousy with the other schools that the kid did not show, at say Signal, Sequatchie, Whitwell, MC? Would those programs have taken the kid on knowing the situation? Oh well, time will push this over the hump, but in the meantime, keep up the posts... they are entertaining.
  11. I thought the shirts got buried in the snake pit hole while waiting on another SP return trip?
  12. Was that the year they were 9-0 and came to Boyd with their pre-printed Region champ tshirts? The year were their entire fan base was ready to storm the field on 4th and 9 in OT with Boyd behind by 7? The year that TE 86/9 caught a TD on 4th down in OT? The year Boyd went for 2 and made it, winning by a point and winning the Region again? They haven't been heard from since. Believe they are still in shock. That game was top 3 in sons tenure at Boyd. Others were beating wanna be SP three out of four years, and beating Marion when MC was ranked #1 and Boyd #2. Classic game. By the way wonder what ever happened to those ugly green tshirts they didn't get to use?
