  1. I agree. I was hoping to see a good battle between waverly and UC last year but CA got the surprise out of R5. I'm hoping to see a good Waverly Peabody battle this year, but they better keep an eye on the R8 teams
  2. Yal make it sound like you're planning your entire season to play one team...and that's what it looked like last year.
  3. I actually picked them top 5 on the fan poll. Memphis region should be about due to be showing up again
  4. Sounds like a good night for Waverly to show they do have some sort of defense then.
  5. Personally I don't care about polls for high school. It has little to no factor on the outcome of the season. IMO an AP poll should go by Record and then SOS in high school. It has no effect on post season play and can help the rebuilding of down schools. But I do agree with you vandyfan1, Waverly will be probably a 6 or 7 at best come last week of the regular season. I don't see a top 5 because of easier schedules by some. But no feelings hurt here, I'd be fine going into playoffs unranked!
  6. It definitely was. Waverly usually has a highly active offense, DA looked to be seriously gassed by halftime but they still managed to do their thing and finished the game. #5 is a great power runner and #6 is small and quick, I would say those were the two players that made the difference. Hope yal all have a great season.
  7. And if you'll look back you'll see we took our crow, which I hope you do as well this year. That was a different season, different teams. Has nothing to do with this season I'm sorry.
  8. Tigers head into divisional play after a tough few weeks. What's everyone got on this one?
  9. Haha never said that was a reason for a loss bud. And I'm not sure who the sore one is, the one that is still constantly talking about the one upset they got last year or the ones talking about the multiple top notches teams they have faced this season that will prepare them for the post season...
  10. Politeness isn't a requirement for recruitment Croppy.
  11. Still haven't figured out how you're saying yal were 2nd best team in the state. But whatever makes you feel good bud. Hope to see yal in Waverly come November. Good luck on your season
  12. So a proven team that has played and beat the best of them is a team that had 1 upset last season?
  13. Still living on the won win from last year, I'm pretty sure UC showed just how good yal really was last season...
  14. D1-2A Waverly played them to the last minute tonight and lost by 7 (62-55). DA's running back is special and has no quit but in my opinion Waverly's RB out played him in this game.
  15. He was definitely solid tonight, and the offensive line did a great job as well
  16. Was a very tough and another close game with way too many points on the board. The defense actually looked really good the first half compared to the rest of the season. Especially since DA is a really balanced offense. 2nd half was a different story. Waverly gave up way too many stupid penalties and too many 3rd and shorts. After tonight's game though I'm actually more comfortable about regional play and forward. I don't see any regional teams scoring more than 20 on us and I dont believe there will be any able to stop the tiger offense.
  17. The defense we had then was something special. I dont expect our D this year to ever get close to that. We just need some simple stops. Complete the play on 3rd and long and don't give up the big plays.
  18. And so I guess you answered your own question. I dont believe anyone has shown separation yet. W/L records at this point are tricky. We do have a few that have confirmed themselves as the threats they are. Peabody is right now the favorite on this side of the state at this time. But there is a lot more games left.
  19. The defense is slowly improving. I'm more than confident in them for regional play. With so many players playing both sides now I believe the style of offense we played against Fairview wore the tigers out the most. But that's just my opinion. I'm really wondering how we will stand with davidson academy next week. That will undoubtedly be the toughest test all season long.
