Considering the last scrimmage with waverly at mcewen the visitors side and endzones were shoulder to shoulder. I'm sure half of the mcewen stands will be filled with blue.

You know Camden is still butt hurt that they couldn't get McConnell to come there. He only goes to where he sees talent and rides it out. Waverly starts season 1-0 after tonight! It's been a long off season, ready to see some football!

Congrats to Peabody. Was really good to meet a couple of yal as well. I believe with the fight shown in the 4 quarters especially with the horrible weather and field condition has taken any doubt anyone could have for yal. Great offense, great defense, and stamina and coaching is really good too. Bring that Gold back west! Congrats to the Tigers on the season. Been fun watching this senior class make history and change the outlook on Tiger football! Now Anchor Down!

Not a mistake sir. R7 is a beast region. But this season there really wasnt a team to prove they were worth being scared of except Peabody,and yes UC just because of their history. No disrespect to the others especially GC, they had a really good year and have something building.

Scores were a whole lot different then too...I still favor the "defense wins championships" phrase but now days it seems its shifting.

R7 has always been tough. I remember the game in Aville in 06, my soph or jr year. That was probably the best team waverly had fielded in a long time til the McConnel era and we still lost to LC, Camden then in playoffs to CPA when Jeff Fishers son was playing for them. R7 has had a down year in their tradition this year except for Peabody. After the past couple of years of having the team Waverly is due to get over that hump!

Honestly not as big on traveling as I remember. But hopefully they will come since it's not as far as Memphis and is a huge game. But I'm sure the stands will have plenty of blue that will give you a headache with their noise once we take that early lead

Hate to disagree brother but turf would only help Waverly imo. Both teams have the speed at the skill positions, but 1 Waverly's line is smaller but has the quicker step so it would help us out more there. 2 I'm pretty sure this Tiger team has had more experience on the turf as well. As long as everyone comes out healthy I think we'll have a good matchup in a mud pit since our guys have had the long strenuous games this year. Depth or prep, one or the other will get to find the turf after this one.

That's pretty cool. We are sadly in a location that doesn't get called local for news broadcasts. We are basically in between Nashville and Jackson. Neither side does any coverage on us. That's good on the side of no distractions and such but bad for no help in support and college recruiting. These boys have been and will continue to fight for their acknowledgment. Looking for the 2nd mr football and the 1st gold Ball!

Becareful my pee water friend. These Tigers are of a species you haven't seen before. They are much like a group of Gremlins. We dont like the spot light, keep us as underdogs. I hear ya. Waverly has come a long way. Weve had a lot of talent for many years. Our jr high team has had a lot of undefeated seasons but no one wanted to play for the high school. I think 08 was the first ever 0 win season, few years later we get McConnell and now the boys wanna play.

No, last year was the first time we've had a Mr Football as well. Hoping for a 2nd and a 1st! I think it was said earlier but I think this is only 3rd Semis appearance.

As you should know by now, the TSSAA isnt the smartest out there so it wouldn't surprise me. But for most I know Friday is an all out Blue and White Day! Memphis Tigers have a big game around noon then we'll get to see the Tigers from Waverly do some work. Saturday makes more sense to wear that Black and Gold!
