  1. Scrimmaged Fairview Friday and lost by a score, Fairview is 3 A or 4 A I believe.
  2. Although he may leave for greener pastures as well if he has success, it appears that Forrest is a farm league for coaches, and it breaks my heart!
  3. Carson is the guy for chapel hill, extensive coaching experience including three quarterfinal appearances at eagleville. I'm sure he would love nothing more than lining up against the coach/administration that took his job, and beating them. I don't know the guy personally but I think he would be a great fit.
  4. Good luck to coach K, there's few better jobs than a winning program, with talent, in Williamson county. Time for Marshall county to get its act together if they want their athletics (and academics for that matter) and start dishing out the money. My personal opinion is that Abernathy (the director of schools) is a complete joke along with the rest of the board members, most of which do not even hold college degrees. It appears that MCHS gets whatever they want, while Forrest, and Cornersville especially, get left with absolutely nothing (Forrest's facilities would be just as bad as cornersvilles without lions club funding). If Marshall county doesn't want to be left in past then changes need to ensue quickly. High school athletics are becoming more and more similar to college everyday (recruiting, top notch facilities, etc. etc.) Get with the program. My son is a decent ball player, but if he had legitimate d1 talent (I'm a realest) then his butt would be sitting at one of the private schools in Williamson or Davidson academy. This is an extremely pessimistic attitude but I feel it's reality. Good luck to coach K and I'm thankful for him and his staff bringing home a district title. Good coaches move to greener pastures, and centennial is a greener pasture.
  5. Yes, been doing research and just found out that the ravenwood head coach left to be the head coach of nolensville.
  6. And yes they will be a threat, that area is riddled with talent. Hence the 6a state champions?

  8. We might win one more, which isn't likely; but nolensville poses serious issues for us in the near future.
  9. Yes, Forrest will not win another region title.
  10. Yeah scrap everything, because it's not gonna bring a title home. Fire everybody, change school colors, change the mascot, change the school name, etc, etc, etc. Forrest is never going to win a state championship in football. Oh and the days of winning the region are over unfortunately. What to hang our hats on now?!?!?
  11. Wing T is not gonna bring a title home, bottom line. How many state champs this year run wing t? Why not? Because the archaic mindset of "pound the rock" works great with setting school records, winning district titles, etc. But when matched up against too tier playoff teams it simply doesn't work.......if a team is down by 14+ points (at any point in the game) and they run wing t, the chance of that team coming back and winning is slim. It's fine and dandy if you wanna hang your hat on school rushing records (that get broken every 3-5 years anyways), but my opinion is regarding the endgame and bringing a title home.
  12. He did get past the second round, three times.......
  13. Ok, changing the subject here. Kriesky is going to leave soon, he may stay here for another year or two, but with him applying to GC, Centennial, and Ravenwood, it is apparent that he is looking for greener pastures. Who is his replacement when he leaves? IMO it would ideal for Kriesky to leave now and hire Carson (the former eagleville HC). I think he would be an ideal fit to bring Forrest out of the stone age offensively. I understand that Forrest has set rushing records and had success, but it literally is the most boring thing to watch and becomes completely ineffective when trailing. Wing T is a great offense when it is used dynamically (Gus malzahn type of wing t), but they way Forrest uses it now is extremely basic and very limited when throwing the ball.
  14. I have no knowledge of the central office in Marshall county, been a resident of Chapel Hill since '86 but am not sure how it works. One thing I know is that the lions clubs has done many great things for the town and school. However I do know that they love their power and are not afraid to exercise it. If you want to win a championship in football, then football needs to be the primary focus in the school, not softball. And the lions club loves their softball! Enough said. It's tough to be a top tier football coach and stay at a school where football takes a backseat to softball.
  15. Perhaps this is the reason kriesky removed his name from the Giles county job.
  16. that'll make two head coaches we lose to wilco if he gets the job, question is......who is the replacement if he gets the job?
  17. The talent coming up is a matter of perception, we typically win every youth league, win relentlessly in middle school, high school typically has a good regular season and fall flat in the playoffs. This has been the case for 15+ years. It's not a matter of coaching, it's a matter of talent and speed. If Kriesky takes the Giles county job, which all indicators point toward, Chapel Hill needs to make an extremely hard push for Carson if he's still available.
  18. I'm assuming, haven't heard anything out of the ordinary.
  19. Here's the deal, talent comes in waves. The demographics of Chapel Hill is not going to produce a significant amount of legitimate speed anytime soon. However if the current coaching staff is maintained, a winning attitude is maintain, and stability is maintained, then a significant talent wave will produce a deep playoff run and perhaps a title. Look at MC vs. Trezevant, MC outplayed, out coached, and outperformed, but in the end one player took over the game by himself because of SPEED. Here's the main question, if the coaching staff is maintained, and a strong wave of talent comes through, how does the staff handle that talent? Schemes (offensive and defensive) should be dictated by personnel, if the talent comes then use it to its full capacity.
  20. This matchup reminds me of the South Pitt vs Union City title game awhile back. South Pitt had tons of speed and athleticism; Union City did not. However Union City out coached and outplayed SP and pulled off the upset. I remember reading the forums back then on my previous account and no one picked Union City. I hope this is the case for Marion, play hard nosed football and want it more. Go Warriors.
  21. I've never seen a better player in 2a than Richardson, it's simply not fair for the opposing team to face a kid of that size and speed. He's the real deal by 2a standards. However I don't see him being a top tier SEC running back, I wouldn't put him in the conversation with Fournette, Henry, Hurd, etc. (conclusions from watching and comparing their high school highlights). However I think he will accel at a smaller D1 school, solid back.
