  1. I know alot of guys outside of Memphis aren't on the Mark Freeman bandwagon yet, but if the all memphis championship happens I think alot will see how good he is. He can manage a team as well as Alo and can shoot it similar to Harris. He's another 2018 PG in Memphis will high major offers. I say it over and over again its so many guys that aren't talked about as much due to so much talent in the area. If you take a Freeman or a Taelyr Gatlin to the East side of the state, he would be the talk of the area.
  2. I dont know where you are looking but he's not rated in the top 100 on any recommended site as of now. I think he'll break it after the summer but idk if he'll ever be top tier good, which honestly means nothing bc you can excel anywhere and be a great player. But the PGs who are in the top tier have the size and are extremely more athletic than Lomax, except for Garland which speaks volume of how special you have to be as a player to be #1 in your position and class which 6'3-4 freaky athletic PGs right behind you. Correction: 247 has him as the #29 PG and #137 overall in 2018. It'll change he'll rise for sure bc Tyler Harris is rated #14 and #65 respectively and i think you rather have Lomax over Harris.
  3. not at all. I dont have a problem with it. I was just stating why they play. The purpose of a national schedule is to improve recruiting bandwidth and play better competition.
  4. They play to be recruited, its like a more organized AAU program. I can honestly say the same about East, those kids are there to get to the next level and be apart of something special bc they know they are behind a guy that can get them there.
  5. His suitors hasn't reached that level of elitism yet. Garland is the one with those offers. I honestly don't know if i see Lomax getting those type of offers. Garland is the best recruit in the state.
  6. 3 seattle kids tho, and a PG from Chapel Hill who isn't high enough to go to Duke or North Carolina
  7. I'm hoping the same. If OR is able to beat them, alot of hype will be built if Oak Ridge meet's East in the final. A true battle of East vs West TN
  8. If East were not in it this year, Southwind would be the favorite. Just because they lost last week I wouldnt vault OR as the clear cut favorite to challenge East. Nobody in the state plays the talent nightly that the Region 8 kids have to deal with, the only team that does is the prep school in chatt with all foreign kids.
  9. I'm referring to the #1 team right now in the nation Nathan Hale out of Seattle, they are coached by Brandon Roy and Michael Porter Jr is their best player. He/s the one that hinted he was done with highschool and looking forward to the next step. He's espn's #1 for 2017.
  10. Itll kinda look bad if the state prevents them from playing especially with the chance to possibly have the #1 national teams in both Boys and Girls bc the #1 boys team's best player has supposedly said he's done with highschool and looking forward to the next level.
  11. https://www.change.org/p/allow-riverdale-and-east-basketball-teams-to-play-in-national-high-school-tournament Maybe one day it'll change lol
  12. Thats the only thing about Carlos. You never know which one is going to show up. He's good for 15+ nightly at his worst but at his best he can be scary. I remember seeing him go like 8/8 or 10/10 in a game last summer and it was amazing. UT Martin is getting a true steal, I think the only thing that has landed him there versus a bigger program is him having hothead issues in the past. If you mention the top seniors in the state he's up there in the top tier but everyone might not agree bc you never know which CJ will show up. When the energy is consistently there for him he can be scary.
  13. It just depends on who gets the Oak Ridge side. If East is on their side, I'm banking on a all memphis final. Oak Ridge Southwind could be a toss up.
  14. Cordova over Southwind? Thats a shocker. Cordova winning that game is contingent upon many IFs
  15. Exactly. Crutcher had 16 at half and finished with 21. 0 points in the third but he only shot once in the third. I dont exactly think East slowed him down. Also much of their success was coming from their sophomore Antonio Thomas running the primary handler with Beans being the #2 and Jalen at 3. Alot of ball movement was going on in the first 16 minutes of play for them, but the third wasn't the same. But like warmachine said earlier, kinda hard to play with that team for 32 minutes.
  16. Will the rule apply if the transfer is an out of town one will be challenged.
  17. Oh ok. I was a little confused myself. It definitely seems East related. Isn't their already a rule in place about coaching AAU and Highschool at the same time? I'm asking bc Whitehaven's Phillips has had some of his freshman spanning from 4-6 years now but they never were a sponsored club but joined Penny's brand late last summer.
  18. Doesn't apply to the situation either. Henning isn't going anywhere.
  19. He has a bday during the school year. I was referring to the transfer rules. I think Brown is the one who turns 19 before August.
  20. Side note: I dont have Cordova getting past thursday's loser at all, and i'm sure many people agree. But I could really see Harris at Ridgeway next year if he could clear TSSAA regulations. Cordova's roster will be depleted next year and Harris did play at Ridgeway with Crutcher in their younger days.
  21. Their size is everything. Theirs alot of talent in midsouth period, but what sets them apart is the college roster size they have and having a PG that can manage all of that. I'll have to honestly say, after watching him going on 3 years now Lomax has truly come into his own role and expanded it even more. Lawson will get the tag of being the best player bc the length and skill for his classification, but without Lomax how well would this team honestly gel. I think you could win without Lawson(which they will do next year) before you win without Lomax.
  22. Ted and Courtney were stalwarts last year. Pig too, but he's the help 15 feet and in. Chandler did get it going second half and you saw East run some of their bread and butter plays for easy lobs when Ridgeway came back down to earth. You can't honestly expect a team to play like that two halves, but the shooting is what got them the 10 point lead and it should've been what lost them the game too.
  23. Do you think they made adjustments or do you think coach Henning took his foot off the gas? In the third quarter i remember a few possessions of them stalling for a good look and beans got called for 5 seconds on one of those possessions and they looked up and East had the lead. Nothing really changed in the second half to me except for the bigs got it going and Crutcher didn't take a shot in the 3rd. And the charge he was called for down 5 with under two left was a killer. The right call, but it killed the momentum. I dont think they stopped Crutcher or Beans, noone on that team could stay in front of them. Moss was lost, and Lomax's bullying got him a few fouls trying to keep up with beans with the handchecking.
