Yes, she is starting as a Freshman at Cannon County. Her father is also on the GC school board. In the video a student athlete brings that up. If he pays taxes in GC he can send his kid wherever and can serve on the board as well.

I don't think the board holds December meetings anymore, so it would be in January. Many people couldn't attend the meeting due to Big 8 and the folks will not miss that. I will be glad when I can go to these meetings and publicly acknowledge who I am. I have a family member still in the system and he cries every time I bring it up. He's a grown boy, but scared of the repercussions it will be on him. Here is my take on the dealings: You know how political everything is that's what needs to stop. Remember that's how the current head coach got football coach he under cut the Bryant's and when the previous girls basketball coach was head basketball coach they told her she wasn't going anywhere (according to her dad) during the season then not to long after that they are hunting someone to be the girls coach. That's why things are like they are here it's all for a buddy not something that's done to benefit the kids.

We still have Seq. bc of region or we would shy away from them as well. Grundy folks will be mad me showing the neighbors how they are talked about at a public meeting--a student talked about at that.

I am Grundy County born and raised. Love still living here. I love to watch good football, but we've lacked it here on the mountain lately. I couldn't attend an athletic meeting they had tonight due to something already coming up, but the athletic committee did vote to post the head coaching job. My understanding is this still has to go on the board meeting agenda and then voted on. A feller sent me a website of this meeting where coaches downgrade SP and Marion County. There's mention of Seq in there a couple of times, but at least they don't talk bad about one of their student athletes. I am not sure how much longer it will stay up, but a live feed video is on Facebook. I don't have a Facebook, but a buddy of mine does. Go to Anna Meeks and watch a football coach talk about SP playing a kid with 5 felonies, how either SP or Marion tackles them dirty to hurt our kids, how SP pays kids to attend, how Marion didn't sub until 2:00 bc they wanted to impress a recruit, how a lot of people in Marion don't like their coach and want him gone, etc. You all need to watch this for yourselves. Kudos to the board members that obviously want a coaching change.

I've said that all along it was a set up from the top. The player in the recruiting thing is a great player, but obviously Marion has these players as well....3 years in a row to the state championship team. I do not have kids, but a family member that has played under Tate. Many unprofessional things have gone on that Tate tells the kids not to tell or there will be repercussions. Most of these kids want to win. Most of these kids parents with any sense should seek out other schools. Look how successful schools 30 minutes from us are. 2 teams seasons just ended and 1 still going. These programs have top notch coaches and the fan base is unbelievable. Kids should want to move. I would like to see the truth to come out on us about the recruiting. Tate is a joke and he is the only one thinking he's crap don't stink. These other coaches do not respect him & I'm sure they want him to stay for easy wins. Come on bring us a coach in. I've heard a couple of names thrown out and I'm excited for the kids.

If you know what many of us GC people know you would've already lost all respect. He's in the buddy system, so he will stay. Kids will leave. That recruiting accusation was a bunch of hogwash. Kids want to leave & are seeking other places. That's sad our leaders in charge accommodate Tate and not our kids. He has scheduled the weakest teams in 1A trying to get wins. This will not help if we even make it to the playoffs. It's a joke here. I pray for our kids they can get a fresh staff.

Here in Grundy is this thing called the BIG JOKE...I mean the BIG 8. We run 6 elementary schools (PK-8), two with about 100 students or less in the whole school. The people in the community would have heart attacks if this BIG JOKE is taken away. It's hard for us to compete with other systems because the kids for the most part can't stand one another when they get to the high school. The little league programs are not very good. I'm not sure if any of our little league football teams mad it past the 1st round. In little league baseball it's a Gruetli vs Tracy thing & the BIG JOKE the talent pool is down. It all starts in academics and our kids are just not at an advantage having 6 elementary schools and no middle schools. Technology in schools are horrible and leadership is bad. To answer your statement--Grundy will probably never have a Junior High or Middle School bc change is shyed away from. We have probably the worst football coach in the state. He will probably be back bc it's all political.

I'm not sure if it's true or official, but heard Community, East Robertson, Whitwell, Bledsoe and some Christian school.

Glad someone else has sense on this. Up in Grundy our authorities hired the Jr High coach bc he won the championship. He has won 2 games total in 2 years. Totally different!!

Coach Tate has scheduled weak teams in place of S Pitt and others. That's one of the reasons we will not improve. We need new coaches for these kids to compete. Watching S. Pitt last night makes me want that atmosphere for our kids...they deserve it. The fan base, etc doesn't compare to teams right down the road from us. Picking up weak teams we may win 2-3 this year...that's not good. Get these guys a solid coach and we win 7-8 with the schedule Tate has created.

The Indians are representing our region. The fan base is unbelievable...I watched them during the season twice and it was electrifying then. Keep on Indians!

He needs to take notes. The atmosphere at the Sequatchie game was one our kids about 30 miles away deserve as well. We need a coach!
