The Cavaliers will travel down 840 this afternoon to take on La Verne. To see if their 1's can keep there preseason shut out streak alive. It will be a tall task to keep the streak going with La Verne having the two Vol commits at WR. I do except the streak to end with La Verne having such a explosive offense, and one of Cookeville's starting DBs out with a hand injury. This will be the final preseason test for the cavs. They will have their first real game against Upperman at Watson stadium next Friday. GO CAVS! #fearthestash

For the second week in a row and third team scrimmage. The Cookeville Cavaliers have shut out the starting team of Rhea County, Fulton, Farragut, and also Franklin County in the spring game. This is when the ones or AKA starters are on the field. If this is any indicator of how the Cookeville defense will play this year I have to say Lookout. In the latest scrimmage which was at Cookeville Thursday they were able to score twice and hold Farragut without a score.Cookeville passing game look great quarterback Cade Smith connected with wide receiver Kobe Bryant for two scores. Farragut offense did get one drive into the red zone. Their momentum stopped when defensive back Blake Ashburn picked off a pass for Cookeville and their end zone. So for all you doubters out there beware. #fearthestash

This what I could make out from the ones.Defensively Cookeville looked to be the better team only giving a score up late in scrimmage when they had a mix of one's and twos in the game. Both Fulton and Rhea co. defense were ok bet they both were able to drive the ball on each other. Offensively it is a real toss up between Fulton and Rhea Co. they both had some good drives. Cookevilles offense struggled more than the other two teams. In all I think all teams I have a lot to work on, but should have really good seasons DEFENSE= 1. Cookeville 2. Fulton 3. Rhea Co. CHILD PLEASE!! NO WAY!! Cookeville gets beat by a few TDs in either game. On paper, yes Rhea co. Is the favor in both scrimmages, and I look forward to seeing what Murphy Fair calls " The Three Horseman" from Rhea co.. When it comes to Fulton the word is they could be down this year with only 7 returning starters, but I will have to see it to believe it. They seem to always have a good team. When it comes too Cookeville I hope everyone keeps sleeping on the cavaliers this year, as the famous rapper Drakes lyrics say "I hear fairy tales 'bout how they gon' run up on me, Well run up when you see me then and we gon' see!" The Cavaliers are a very SOLID team this year who is my dark horse to WIN, yes I said WIN, the region 2-6 A distract. So I expect some real competitive scrimmage games Friday. Not necessarily.... You would have to understand what it is to be from Baxter. you extremely dislike people from cookeville when comes to high school athletics. With that being said it will give Upperman extra fire in there belly for this one. It's truly one sided rivalry. It's just another game to Cookeville. #fearthestash

My prediction of upperman game. UHS-14 COOKEVILLE-35 Cookeville wins big,but Upperman keeps it a game in 1st half. The depth will ultimately do in the bees for the second straight year.

Watched both DC and UHS Monday and Tuesday at Cookeville High Schools 7 on 7. DC qb looks great! Deserves All-state nod. So he should carry offense. Their defense is what worries me looked a little sloppy but maybe it's stuff they can get fixed before their season starts. UHS is just the opposite. Their defense looked really good. Their offense needs a quarterback tremendously so maybe somebody will step up or the kid that they have under center now can work out some of the issues. Smith County was there also. They too look like they could have a good team. This region will be a good one to watch!

Good post uppercumberlandman. As far as the upperman game I hope you there, it was an amazing atmosphere. I don't know exactly the attendance numbers, but that place was packed! There was so much energy in the air! So if you didn't make it last year I hope you get that ticket this year, and show up EARLY if you want a seat. As far as the game went last year Upperman was well overmatched, but jumped out to a good lead. They just couldn't hold it. I believe the reason of this is because this game is more of a rivalry game for Upperman. Not so much for cookeville. So this year in Cookeville don't expect as much of a game, but hey we can hope for a close game any way. I do see this become a two way rivalry in the next few years if Uppermans attendance keeps growing like they have been. Until then Upperman will be Cookevilles little brother and have to take there lumps. #fearthestash

To add to my theory of Cookeville being a dark horse in the 6A Region 2. They have added a 6-5 275 lineman out of Mississippi. You gotta love those deadpeirod Transfers LOL! Not for sure how he will contribute looks good in shorts we'll find out here soon if he is the real deal. Not for sure why the kids family choose Cookeville if I had to guess it would be the new Academy Sports and Outdoor Distribution center. If that is the case I believe he will be the first of many that Academy Distribution Center will bring in. 800 jobs got to help local high school football. Lol #fearthestash

So what makes you think DC wins region 4 3A this year? They will be in the big cookvegas Monday, for a 7 on 7, I will be attending. Will have to check them out.
