Big Savon was out sick with Flu like symptoms and couldn't even make the trip! DB gave both of these good teams all they could handle and the record may not show it but they continue to get better each week, minus several bad calls by the officials and the outcomes of both games may be different! Throw in bad officiating throughout the entire OR game and the record of this team looks much different! Talk either way means nothing, but this DB team could be rolling by playoff time, if you think DB is not good ask the players on your teams and I think you will find out that DB has their respect!

From what I have seen BC has a team of athletes that can compete with most if not all the teams in the state of TN. They still have a chance to win the District even with a loss this Friday, and a win over Maryville. This however is a critical game for both teams because the winner will become the front runner for the #2 spot and it is important to be in the top 2 due to all the teams in Middle TN being extremely competitive outside the bottom 2! DB will have to score points and play with composure, because BC will score points, but tend to lose control of their emotions from time to time. BC is a good football team but Dobyns Bennett is getting better and is a big game away from becoming a good football team as well! This could be the best game in the state this Friday! Both Teams will be coming to play!

It will take coaching them up as we all know, but when you put the LB Whitley from Robinson and LB Armitage from Sevier together, you will have the meanest group of linebackers we have had at DB in a long time! Not sure how many wins they will have in high school, but there will not be one running back that walks off the field without knowing they have been in a football game!

I guess it doesn't really matter what we say about DB or WB losing when they could have won! We are better than we played that night but I will say you do have some really good players that played great that night! Losing key players hurts the majority of teams, Maryville can overcome it better than most with the depth they have! WB and Heritage have a few players that could play for Maryville skill wise, but chose to stay at their school. I know Maryville will continue to be one of the premier teams in the state of TN, but I wonder if the two new coaches in town will be able to keep enough players to hurt Maryville or at least bring it back to where other Northeast TN teams can at least compete! It is possible that Maryville will not be the Champion of the Big East, but they are more than likely going to be #1, the real question is, who will earn the 2-4 spots? The next 2 weeks will start giving us a good indication of how it will all shake out!

Hard to run a small town newspaper anymore. Nobody subscribes since there are so many other sources for news. The Kingsport Times News used to be a good paper, but now it is a waste of time and money. Sounds like the Maryville newspaper owners were smart and got out before the bottom fell out!

I fully understand what you are saying, #27 is a really good player and I know he would have made a difference in the game. I guess my point is your team is good and won, so there was no need to make excuses for why DB was able to score 34 points. As someone said on here, you all go 3 deep without missing a beat, and you have the best coaching staff and youth programs In the State of TN. DB has good depth on the offensive line and pretty good depth on the defensive line, but are lacking in depth in many of the other positions. So unlike Mville, DB took a loss to your little brother WB when #35, #79, along with a couple others that were out and the #6, and #2 went out with injuries! People made fun when that was mentioned but it does make a difference when a couple key players can't play! After watching the game on Friday, do you have any doubt DB would beat WB if #35 and #6 were able to play against WB?

My take on it, is that you won the game! You have a good team but your D Line got pushed around! You might want to get that fixed and move on!

Yes you did! Congratulations! Smart Mouth! There is a reason you are ranked #1 in the state! Your team is good and go pretty deep with your talent! We didn't complain that one of best receivers got knocked out for the season against William Blount and did not play last night! Another fact about the WB game you all make fun of but LB was out along with Starting QB going down with shoulder injury in the first half, starting receiver goes down in the second half, and three other players out of the game as well, one of those being our only returning starting offensive lineman. You also haven't heard one of our starting lineman didn't play last night with an injured ankle and we still pushed your D-line around more than they have ever been pushed around! Take your win and move on!

DB was down 14 and scored 14 in the second quarter to tie the game! Maryville pretty much scored at will but the DB offense did not give up, and moved the ball pretty well the entire game! Not many penalties either way and both offenses played well. The 34 points were fairly legitimate! Maryville is just a machine, good players with great coaching!

You know what I like about the Maryville fans on coach T, and maybe it's because they don't have to deal with losses but maybe once every couple years, but they don't really talk negative about other teams and they do not overly brag on their team! Realist or not, I am not sure anyone knows who you are, so you can act like an expert! You may have been a great player, maybe a good coach once upon a time down at the boys club! But as a Vols fan I believed every year that the Vols would win against Florida, and I was wrong for a lot of years, but since who I support, I did what any true fan should do, and that is support my team! I have seen a lot football played a good amount of it, and coached a little as well, and the team DB has right now is as talented as the majority of teams that have played at Dobyns Bennett, and that is what the boys need to hear. They don't need to hear how bad they are because most fans are not smart enough to know that the competition level is higher than it has ever been at DB, and that is all they hear, and you are smart enough to know that to be true. The boys and coaches weren't beat after three series of the game last year they like most teams that play Maryville were beat mentally in practice the week before the game! So you can continue to talk down, but I choose to support the boys that play the game! They may win, and they may lose but I can say that this year they are not beat before the game even starts, and that gives me hope!

Nice to hear from GaddisTossySweep! I'll just simply respond with a kind note! You all have a team that should win a state championship in 5A could compete for one in 6A if your hero Gaddis didn't coach like it was still the 80's. Good luck!

Inside source says the kids believe and Coach Clark and at least a couple other coaches are prepared as well for this game! I am telling You this DB team could compete and beat the majority of the DB teams in the past, I don't know if they can beat the forces of Maryville as they are a special program, especially over the last 20 years, but this DB team is coming to play, and the Kingsport fans might want to show up in force just in case the upset happens!

He rolled over and pushed him after your center yanked him down from behind! For the record, the flag was in the air before he even rolled over! The worst reffed game I have ever seen, but not only did it hurt us in the OR game it also hurt us in the next one! Merely a push, and at most a personal foul but no ejection! TSSAA said they could not tell difinitivley either way to overrule!

SDOT it is similar to your team losing to just about everyone you play, except your key losses in players was due to graduation! Like most High school teams (maybe excluding Maryville) the loss of key players makes a real big difference in the outcome of a game!

QB went down in the first half up 21-7 and had scored on every drive before he was hurt! Best linebacker was suspended due to a bad call in Oak Ridge game! Like Maryville now, DB had at least three other starters out as well! DB has depth but couldn't overcome the losses as well as Maryville does when starters are out at key positions!

Yeah you are probably too good for our little messed up stadium, you might as well stay home and tell all the other Marryville people to stay home as well, it is not worth your time! Just kidding we are looking forward to you all coming to Kingsport, and I have sat on that side for a big game several years ago, and it is actually better than you think! You're close to the game and you are real close to the action especially when they are right in front of you! A lot better place to see the game than Science Hill no matter where you sit!

I think coach Clark is a good coach, I just wish we had a better youth program to prepare them before they get to high school!

I wonder if the close Siegel loss to Smyrna 42-10 will allow them to stay in the top 10! I guess the reason this post was started, was proven! Polls don't mean anything but if you are going to divine you ought to at least need to try to make sense and a 1 win team probably doesn't belong! Haha
