  1. Ok obviously we were watching two different duals. I guarantee you that kid was not running from anyone. If that last take down was in the middle of the mat a pin would have occurred. Why don't you watch the stream and see how just about every SH kid would make sure every match was wrestled beat the OB line. Obviously SH's 52 was good on his feet, not to mention the younger kid was giving up more than 10lbs. So why on earth would he go at him like a mad man. Also if you watch again THS's 52 took his fair share of shots and definitely didn't stall the whole third period, JS! I would guarantee you that just about every match was wrestled on the edge of the mat. Smart move by SH. Never once was an excuse made SH wrestled great and smart. Was just saying one match can sometimes change momentum. No reason to get all upset! Definitely not taking anything away from SH's 52, good wrestler and more importantly great kid
  2. I completely agree with Artus, next week will be absolutely amazing and those no calls went both ways. The stalling was definitely there in the 45 and 52 weight class. Too bad the Freshman ran out of time in the 52 match. He pulls that one out and we have a totally different dual. But it is what it is.

  4. That's the beauty of this sport, you never know till you step on the mat. Did anyone expect Hicks to drop a match to Bowers? I would guess not. I'm definitely not saying THS would beat either team, just simply stating that the potential exists for it. To answer your question, who knows until they square off. Science Hill is no slouch, granted they have lost to both Bradley and Cleveland, all we really have to go off is the past and what's on paper. I definitely agree that winning 4 matches won't cut the mustard. I honestly feel that THS unfortunately had a really bad off night, better now than down the road.
  5. Worst officiated match I have seen, period! On that note Science Hill came out and wrestled their butts off, so that first comment is to take nothing away from those kids. A few calls in the favor of THS and you have a different result. But as I've always said you should never be in a position to where the ref can decide anything. Oh by the way go ahead and write THS off, a lot of people must have short memories and obviously forgotten what they accomplished last year.
  6. Ssshhh, ArtusCimber, THS likes the quiet underdog role
  7. Naw, 56-7 or maybe 14. Mo West will rest starters sometime in the third. Would love to see it closer or even an upset but just don't see it happening.
  8. Honestly I don't think Mays has the power to do what he'd like to. I firmly believe it is coming from higher up. I also believe he is more than capable of being a head coach if he were allowed to do what he wanted and needed to do. Unfortunately from what I understand and have heard through the grapevine is that if mommy and daddy are donating money little Johnny plays. I think shuffling coaching duties around, i.e. Offensive coordinator to someone who has played at the collegiate level as a QB would be very beneficial vs having said person coach DBs, would pay huge dividends.
  9. Hate to say it but West will have JV in most of the second half. Rest the starters for playoffs while getting the other kids playing time just before the playoff push. Rough season for THS, we will definitely come back next season and the seasons following we should be rather tough as well. Good luck in the playoffs Mo West.
  10. Well guess I definitely missed that one. Same old same old showed up for THS. One more next week and prepare for next year.
  11. I could be wrong, but I believe you see a different THS team tonight. As I said it won't be the same old same old. From what I gather should be a whole different look.
  12. I'm thinking the Vikings right the ship this week. They have nothing to lose now and I believe that they come out swinging and surprise some folks. There were many positives taken from the Sevier County loss and I'd about bet the farm these kids are sick of losing. I will say that I'm pretty certain it will not be the same old same old. THS 38-28
  13. First off many love the coaches dearly. There is zero consistency at any point with this team. As previously stated there is talent on this team, it's not utilized the best at times. It's a problem when the kids are saying that certain people are built up while others are torn down consistently. See college football teams have the liberty to recruit kids to fit the system used by the coaching staff, whereas high school is not afforded that luxury. Adapt to what you have and don't beat your head against a brick wall. Just look up the definition of insanity. That should explain quite a bit. Feel horrible for this senior class and the rest of the team. Hopefully they haven't given up all will and come out strong these last few games!
  14. Trust me we know and watch and have watched it week in and week out. Not sure what the solution is cause there is a lot of talent out there. On a side note the officiating was horrendous at best!
  15. Another issue for the Maroon Machine is that the opponents know to focus on 3-4 individuals to shut us down. Don't get me wrong not all should play, but there are numerous kids on the sidelines who have never been afforded an opportunity to help the team. Lots of talent either not used or under utilized. That would also allow the "stars" an opportunity to get some much needed rest.
