Lots of people told me that Cannon would be really good this year what happened to them.

Good luck Coach it has got to be one of the toughest places in the state to coach. Trying to coach without a true Middle School program if you can win 5 games it will be like going 10-0. You could have closed three of the small K-8 schools 10 years ago and saved enough money in that time to have paid for a Middle School but nobody wants to change. But i hope that you can turn things around.

Anybody taken the job yet, when is spring ball going to start, has anyone heard anything.

Maybe they will chose to drop the program might just be the thing to do if you not going to do it right.

Now there seems to be no money to pay the new director of schools so they board my have to ask the old one to come back. Did no one think about what could happen. What if none of the football coaches choose to leave maybe they are like me and must work do you really think Cannon would create four or five new positions in the system that is already streched to the limit. What a mess

Years ago there was a guy coaching football in Woodbury who told a school board member he needed a raise if they wanted him to stay. At a board meeting one night a school board member came up to him and handed him a 50 dollar and said "do not tell anyone". The coach said"do not worry I want I am just as much ashamed of it as you are". True story I promise you. The guy left not to long after that. In many ways it is still the same just hate it for the kids.

Not enough money for a Middle School but enough money to operate 6 K-8 schools three of which are tiny. What if some of those schools were to be closed, maybe the three smallest ,how much money could be saved over 10 years. People just do not want to change they like it the way it has" always " been I agree with everyone of your points

Can' t see why any coach would want to be in a system, at a high school, when that system did not have a Middle School building unless they were from there or could not get another job. How's that county-wide team working out for you over the last few years? If you are going to do it do it right not half-way just look what you get.

Hey WingT would you agree that you usually get what you pay for and you gets caught in the middle the kids playing they deserve better. wish that things could get better. if enough people really cared maybe it would.

Nothing by itself solves all the problems but a single Middle School campus with three coaches one for offense one for defense and one for special teams and pay them enough to keep them around for 5-8 years and have some good high schools coaches would be a start. This other stuff has not worked in a long time. Remember that right down the road in Rutherford County every boy that wants to play has only had that chance for the last 8 years because only in thelast 8 years has each area of the county had their own 6-8 grades in a middle school and it seems to have made Rutherford even better in football and also in so many other areas.

Until Cannon decides to build a Middle School and jump out of the 1950's the program will be behind the eight ball and whoever is there will be coaching in a losing situation almost all of the time. Should have been done 40 years ago.

Rumor is that if the former Head Coach is put back in his former position ten teams in the state may have a open date next season. Would that make Cannon the only 3-A team in the state not to have football or are there other schools about the same size in the state that do not field a team.

Five year record 4-46, region record 1-28 (sorry Smith County) outscored 1943- 394 and people have to tell you to leave are you kidding me.

Yesterday Director of Schools fired Football Head Coach and then last night the BOE moved the Director of Schools to the high school and named a new director for the system. Chairman of the BOE is the father of the Head Coach and if I was a betting person the new director will rename the old head coach as the new head coach soon. What a mess.

Bulldog folks help me out. i recall thatCornersville had a really good team in 1970 that Coach May coached and that is the best team that I remember Cornersville having anybody else recall that bunch. Reason why they beat us 28-0 that year and that is the worst beating we had that year. I believe that was the first year that Petersburg was closed and some or all of those kids went over to Cornersville. hope you guys come out with the state championship what a great story. Coach May could coach he had some good teams at Onedia later on that i recall.

Cannon should be able to fill up 8 or 10 ,schedules every two years heard once that teams were calling to see if they could play their Homecoming games in Woodbury.

The bunch that is in charge can not tell you how to win because they do not know how they lost. They will all back next year if they want to very sad

Build a Middle School hire people that know how to coach and move on out of the 1950's Cannon County Yes the kids deserve better but hey it will be Basketball Season soon and not enough will remember or even care SAD

Coaching is the key and should be looked at in cannon situation. But will continue to be bad if no change is coming. Dont know how many games a good coach could win but in three years people would have to really play to beat you. But it takes the right kind of people to turn any program around.

The lack of a Real Middle School program would not solve all problems but who ever is coaching at the High School your kids are three years behind when you get them. To me that is a huge mountain to overcome not impossible but the kids are still behind and that makes it tough on the high school level.

To build a program you would first have to gather people together that have a clue has how to do it. Current leadership has no idea of a real program.I believe that they could not tell you how to win because they do not k now how they lost. The whole deal is a joke and how people stand for it I quit trying to solve that problem. They will be back next season if anyone shows up to take this abuse.

Whitwell Class A RBS Class A Moore county Class A don't do much good to drop down does it. Start at the top if you want a better product on the field Cannon would never stand for this it was roundball.

48 to 0 at the half negative 2 yards total offense for the game for real. Somebody needs to do the right thing if there is a right thing left to do. Whitwell and York left on the schedule those kids that show up Monday must want to play.
