  1. Congratulations to the Summertown Eaglettes and Collinwood Trojanettes on a great year! I am just curious - the Wayne County Lady Cat shortstop, Brooke Skelton, had at least 4 homeruns during the season - and only 1 of these were on what I could consider a short fence (Perry County). How could she NOT be chosen for the District Tournament team from Wayne County???

"Summertown had 15 hits" ? is that official ?
  3. So - on Thursday night, Collinwood will play PC, then the winner of the CW / PC game will play Summertown? And should Summertown lose, they would play a third game on Thursday night?
  4. I heard that Collinwood lost to Summertown last night and Perry County defeated Mt. Pleasant. I'm not sure when they (Collinwood & PC) will play - maybe Thursday night? Wayne County finished 3rd overall in the District Regular season, but lost to Perry County in their 3rd game of the tournament. Disappointing ending for the Lady Cats -
  5. - last time I checked, Hardin County was a AAA team and Wayne County a singe A - I believe Wayne County can compete w/ Hardin County as they did in the invitational tourney - score being 4 to 1, but I've noticed every single year we have participated in the Hardin County Tournament, the brackets seem to be geared towards HC having the easier path to the championship round? My reason being that Summertown, a class A powerhouse, is never in bracket w/ HC. Why is this ?
  6. What happened to Summertown? Was JC really that much better?
  7. - "pound it inside w/ a 16 point lead"? Not only was Gipson on the bench, but also Potete who had the hot hand and by the way, is a post player - - coaching isn't rocket science - I suspect even a deer hunter would have stuck w/ the hot players in a close game -
  8. Is Thursday's game time @ 6 or 6:30 and 7:30 or 8??? The Tennessean is reporting the later times -
  9. - the Abby Andrews show - she WAS the difference in the game! No adjustments made by Byrd - should have played Potete more -
  10. - this is a strange post - is this Chad Bell a high school student or a male model?
  11. Jordan Martin at Collinwood High should make this list - good hitter - has speed on the base path - a tough out!
  12. - did Summertown lose anyone from last year's team? We had heard of some disgruntled players over the fall/winter -

"never underestimate an opponent" BUT I do believe the WC vs. Zion game was very close ( 9 - 7 ) - I am interested in the Coaches poll of how the district will fall out - behind Summertown that is -
  14. Zion did improve towards the end of the season, but was probably tied with last place w/ Wayne County - how are they looking this year?
  15. Thanks for the news - we were "afraid" there would be no one to play. The last time we played 16 - 18, there were several teams from West TN (Jackson area) that we faced. Do you have a 13 - 15 year old team this year? Thought several of the S'town players were eligible - are they playing travel ball?
  16. Does anyone know of ANY 16 - 18 year old Dixie Youth softball teams in the Middle or West TN area?? Our league will possibly have a team next year with many 16 year olds moving up, but have not located anyone to play -

Summertown has an outstanding team . . . Good luck in the Regionals - was wondering who made the tournament team for 12A - any idea?
  20. Anyone know who made the District 12 A tournament team ? Also, who was the MVP?
  21. Actually, the Hardin County pitcher gave up 8 hits - 2 to Brooke - Hardin County had 3 earned runs - we (Wayne County) gave up the rest with 6 fielding errors. There seems to be some confusion in hits vs. runs scored. As for Hardin County, they had 6 hits but scored 12 runs.
  22. What about that Gant kid @ USJ? I believe he's a freshman -
  23. Bigdogs99 - yes, it's true, the Lady Cats have struggled this year. A head coach was not appointed until February 15th. The coach, Sonya Jackson, was the former head coach during the 94 - 95 era of Lady Cat softball in which they advanced to the Region & Sub State level of play. Unfortunately, Ms. Jackson did not have adequate time to build her team being able to work with them only after school. The Lady Cats are a young, talented team with 3 juniors and remainder of the roster is sophomores & freshmen.
