  1. Exactly, he'll find his rythm and groove after a two week layoff quicker than your average player anyway. Dresser is not most players. He hurt his ankle in the last play of the UC game his freshman year, and he came back after two weeks and did great. You never would've known he had been out. We really need to be healthy after this week.
  2. Yeah, you hear stuff like that all the time with these Memphis teams. I'd never send money. Why risk injuries or potentially even losing when you can take the forfeit and advance to the next round? Sure, you might not be as sharp after a bye week, but you'll be rested and healthy and don't have to worry about injuries or your season ending. This is just how I see it. I'm not sure about this team, but Memphis teams have a reputation for being undisciplined and playing dirty. Let's hope this is a clean game Friday.
  3. Dropping catchable passes has been a bit of a red flag this year. If we'll just look the ball in before worrying about YAC, we'll limit this. I believe we'll be peaking if we have all our starters healthy (that's an issue we have no control over, but let's hope we aren't plagued by this), work on reducing dropped catches, stop committing all these unnecessary penalties and improve our pass blocking. We'll be a handful for anyone if we play our best football.
  4. Booker T. Washington might have trouble making it down here. I know that was a concern a few weeks ago.
  5. In all honesty, it simply depends on the health of this team. If everyone is healthy and 100% by playoffs, I just can't see anyone beating Dresden. On the flip side, this team doesn't have enough depth for injuries. It's get healthy or bust, just my opinion.
  6. You're far from it. I just don't like seeing negative comments that are not true with zero proof behind them.
  7. Thanks, Wildcat. Things are looking better for us (cross your fingers), so hopefully both teams will stay healthy, and the long awaited semifinal showdown will finally happen!
  8. If you're going to go off on a rant, at least spell the player's name right and possess a higher writing level than a second grader. It's nobody's fault the kid was hurt in a close game in the fourth quarter. I'm tired of this blaming game. It's getting ridiculous and petty. Yes, we scored after he went out, but it was an extremely competitive game at the time. A safety got hurt for Dresden, and Humboldt found some success after that. We had a 23-0 start with all of our defensive starters, but it would turn out to be a close game. Luckily, we ended up running away with it late in the fourth. As far as this stat padding rhetoric goes, let me give you some facts. In last week's Jackson Sun, Dresser had less passing attempts by a crazy amount compared to the other QBs. There's one QB who has 25 more passing attempts (Boliver's QB) and one QB with 43 more passing attempts (Trenton's QB), while literally everbody else is either just short of having twice as many passing attempts or has more than twice as many passing attempts. The overwhelming majority of these QBs have more than twice as many passing attempts! He's also only ran the ball a select number of times this year, and the majority of those "carries" are sadly sacks. If our coach has padded the stats, what's every other team in the area doing? Mckenzie's QB has thrown the ball 104 more times, and USJ's QB has thrown 165 more times. Those are just two examples. The kid has played after halftime four times, and these stats show that in a very conclusive way. How can you "pad stats" in the first half? Now, will everbody stop blaming someone for this injury? He's fine now, and you take an understanding when you step on a football field that you could be severely hurt. It's simply the nature of the game and reality of the situation. I rest my case. Let's talk about the present and future.
  9. Okay, but please don't come on here saying something that's not true. We didn't play our starters in the 4th, period. That was the first time we came out with our starters after halftime since Westview! Coach Rang even said that in the radio interview after the game. They were only in for one quick drive on offense. Some starters (like our running back and some receivers) didn't even play that drive. Coach Rang said in the interview he didn't want his athletes to be trained to play only a half of football and that he wanted them to stay sharp for one drive after half. As far as saying this is a once in a lifetime season, 5 and 4 years ago we went to state and the semis back to back. We've made it to at least the second round every year this decade. You're talking some nonsense right there, and you know it. How bad did we beat Lake County last year? How far did you guys make it last year? Please beat Humboldt this week, so maybe we can rematch you. Nobody cares what you did in the '80s. The same thing applies to Bruceton. You need to stop living in the past and talk about the 21st century. Nobody with common sense would take their kid to Lake County over Dresden. Our programs are far beyond Lake County. It's apples and oranges. That's like saying Miami has a better football program than Clemson. What happened nearly 40 years ago is exactly that. I'm more concerned about who has the more current and recent success in this decade.
  10. Dear gosh, Yso. Now I've gotta run through this with you. He didn't play in the second half of West Carroll, South Fulton, Ballard Memorial, etc.! Go actually watch Hudl this time. Those were the first three games I checked, and I've already came across something simply not true. What are you even talking about? Sure enough, he wasn't out there for the second half. He wasn't even playing in the fourth quarter of the UC game (unless you count that first and only play). Again, prior to this injury, he had only been in the fourth quarter twice. Please stop putting this stuff on here. It's making our coach look classless. I know that's definitely not your intention, but c'mon. What did everybody tell you when you said this stuff the first time? I've been wanting him (and several of our starters) to play some in the second half. Most of their stats, highlights and what not from their senior year is sadly going to be from the first half of most games.
  11. Right on, apologize to the person proven to be blatantly lying about our team, and just disregard the person who states the facts and sticks up for his team. Heaven forbid if that were to happen.
  12. I promise on the world he wasn't. Wow, you really are from Lake County. I know you guys just now discovered the internet down there, but at least learn to intelligently contribute to a conversation. I don't how else to explain this. Dresden had one play in the entire fourth quarter, and he wasn't in. You claim you have no desire to watch Dresden assault Lake County, yet the irony in this situation is that you can scroll through the thumbnails on Hudl and find out the truth in 5 seconds. It took you longer to type up this embarrassing, factually-incorrect post. Spouting lies and nonsense about our program is a disservice. You are accusing our coach of making a decision he didn't make. You couldn't be more wrong, and it seems very convenient you won't acknowledge the evidence that proves this never happened. Many people (who actually know what they're talking about) have repeatedly pointed out on this board that the kid has only been in the fourth quarter twice all season long.
  13. That year, there were two starters that weren't Sophomores. You are kidding yourself to the grave if you think that making it to the second round of the playoffs was underachieving that year. Most people assumed we'd win maybe a game or two that year (assuming we'd have Winn and the old coaching staff). You can't win many games with a team full of Sophomores. The year before that with the old coaching staff, we had a senior-loaded team and got put out by Humboldt in the second round. Dresden improved throughout that next season so much, but we lost to the eventual state champs in the second round. Rang has done fantastic in the span of two and a half years, IMO. If he stuck around, we maybe could get some good things going.
  14. Dresden literally had one play on offense during the entire duration of the fourth quarter against Lake County. It was a 2 yard TD run from the 2 yard line after a big interception return. I know for a fact (this is an actual fact) that for that play and quarter, if it can be called that, Tyrone (#10) was the quarterback. Watch Hudl if that's an option for you.
  15. Sure enough, Tinkel has probably mislead you and many others about substitutions after halftime and what not. If there's nothing medically wrong with him, I think he should play. He won't get touched against Gfield anyway. He can throw bombs and not have to run. If pressure is coming, throw it away and absolutely no running around in the pocket. They can't cover our receivers. Since this is the last game before the playoffs, it's very important the offense and defense stay sharp.
  16. Well, as many have pointed out, he's only came out of halftime 4 times and played in the 4th quarter twice. Regardless, I just hope people don't twist the truth of this and make a coach a scapegoat for something this horrific. This is terrible for everyone involved, and they've been holding the kid back from playing a full game all year. There's no reason whatsoever people should be criticizing their caution with him. He's played one full game all year, granted the mercy rule came into effect in the 4th quarter. I agree with what you said about his impact on the team. He's definitely not replaceable! A team can be in sync for one half, but I can't understand anyone that thinks there isn't value in having experience with playing four quarters for this year. Sure, these kids have played together for a while, but as far as this year, they're ability to play four quarters in a close game when they're dead tired is suspect at best. Maybe Paul Tinkel thinks Dresser and Tyrone look alike. I've heard him say wackier things.
  17. First off, I'm glad this is the first thing you put on this board after a kid gets hurt. You really are something. Learn some class and respect! Secondly, getting a competitive win over this Huntingdon team doesn't mean a thing. Please just leave everybody alone. You're a 100% pro-Wayne County guy no matter what the discussion is and would pick them over the New Yorks Jets. We get it, just go.
  18. I don't like people pointing out individual kids that aren't even 18 yet, period. Why somebody would shout to the world the specifics of a kid's injury is beyond me, Swo. I completely agree with what you're getting at. He might be trying to keep some things private right now because of scholarships and what not. I thought people would have enough sense to let him or his family give us an update. They need privacy right now!
  19. The best outcome would be a knee contusion. He could play next week if that's the case, but he wouldn't need to run, but I doubt he plays regardless. Let's pray it's not a hyperextension, ACL injury, MCL injury, meniscus, etc.
  20. Are you freaking serious? What are even talking about? Prior to last night, he had got to play 3 quarters in three games this year and one full game. Every other game he was out by at least halftime. You literally just lied to put the blame on the coach. Again, he had only played in the fourth once. They've never "padded his stats." They usually take him out really early. When there's a quarter remaining, you're up by 17 and backed against the endzone, you can get beat. Our defense took the night off. Of course he's still in! It's an important region game. I thought after he went out Humboldt might get the job done. The kids need to learn to play a full game before the stinking playoffs. Had he been taken out a drive or two before that, Dresden gets beat. The whole team (especially the defense) was playing at 10%. The injury actually made our defense start playing like they usually do. Shame on you! Injuries are a part of the nature of the game. It's nobody's fault!
  21. A lot of these middle school teams aren't even in the association to play in playoff games, wish that could change.
