  1. If “ifs” counted, we’d all be undefeated. One player hid the incompetencies of the coach, according to your unproven theory. That doesn’t change the topic at hand. We just lost to a team that was 0-5 against cupcakes. We could care less about that hypothetical argument. We had the talent to win this game. We gave up 500 rushing yards to GREENFIELD. Please stop. The verdict is out. On top of all this, the players hate playing for him, and he’s lost the locker room. What more is there to say?
  2. Him and Gaddis are personally close, so that door is always open. That doesn’t mean squat. The fact is McNairy ran him off after he threw another childish tantrum and got ejected the first game, and then he couldn’t even make games competitive. His brother is currently on the hot seat and hoping to not have his third conservative losing season. Your ole “boys” aren’t the be all, end all of this program. Scott Hewett has done more for that program than anybody, but gets no credit. We had 2 bad years after Rogers left, because Knott was probably the worst coach in the state at the time with a team full of Freshmen, and then the next year there was nothing left. Stop being a gatekeeper. Ysogatekeeper. All you do is gatekeep for your buds and discredit all things Dresden, and kiss up to all other towns. It’s cringeworthy for everybody. Just stop. Good grief.
  3. Yes to all of this. Well said, Goldenpride.
  4. And that very coach got to coach one more game (from the press box), and he instantly wasn’t considered for the head coaching job the next season, despite influential people trying to pull strings. Keep in mind his brother was the coach. Yeah, we gladly waved goodbye to him. I’m still embarrassed that happened, and we LITERALLY had some of the Dresden power circle getting on here and trying to make excuses for him. You remain humble during the thrill of victory and in the agony of defeat. Cussing kids and coaches that out-coached you every is truly pathetic, and revealing your shortcomings to somebody that beat you. It was pure envy and jealousy. That was sickening.
  5. It’s long overdue Estes gets the boot. This man is a cancer behind the scenes, and he’s lost the locker room. There’s nothing he’s doing that’s inspirational to kids.
  6. And that ultimately led to what? Losing to a gimme team in the playoffs. He chokes when he has talent. When he has decent talent, he gives up 500 rushing yards to Greenfield. Last year is irrelevant to what is happening NOW. This is a discussion about the present.
  7. Yup, it’s the coach’s job to put an end to that. That’s why none of his players respect him.
  8. This is absolutely unforgivable. We shouldn’t have let Estes get back on the bus in Greenfield after he gave up 500 rushing yards to THEM. Greenfield? Are you kidding? Tonight was an extra cherry on top. He’s already dug his grave and put the nails in his own coffin. All the players from the state championship team will tell you Estes was a micro manager back then that rode Rang’s coattails and was way too incompetent to even be considered a head coach. What did we expect? We could’ve had Dubriel, an actual alumnus! Union City started that dynasty over there the year he got there. He could’ve took Rang’s math job too. We didn’t want to make a competent hire. That’s been going on for years with the administration that’s responsible for the hiring process. You made a lazy hire and ran your agenda. Estes should step down at this point. Don’t drag this out. Those kids have to be miserable.
  9. We’ve never been penalized like this...this team doesn’t even know the rules of the game they play. That’s on the coaching staff.
  10. You haven’t watched Dresden football for very long then. The teams of the early 2010s were way more disciplined than any of Rang’s teams. Having a whole boat load of talent and winning games is not an indication of discipline. Those teams were extremely high in penalties, mostly in part due to how extremely physical they were. That said, Rang is the best overall coach Dresden has ever had. He had the best offensive playcalling we’ve ever had, the best understanding of defense, had a terrific offseason program and coached at a WAY higher level than any other coach we’ve ever had. He was the whole package. Conservative playcalling and the inability to adjust and be more versatile killed those teams in the early 2010s. We really didn’t have a solid program with those teams in the mid 2000s, or else we’d have 3 or 4 more gold balls at the school. It’s the same song and dance with some of those teams in the 80s. We just never lived up to our potential.
  11. I’m glad you’re respecting his right, but empirical evidence via video footage is not passing judgement. It’s the truth, fact, hard evidence, etc.
  12. If this is Hevy, explain why on this very account two years ago I gave directions to Hevy on how to get to a certain stadium. Show your evidence to the moderators or continue merely slandering with LIES.
  13. Such were these people: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.biblegateway.com/passage/%3fsearch=Matthew%2b7:21-23&version=KJV&interface=amp Fighting to be on the side of truth is not being judgemental.
  14. I completely understand, but I’m just supporting Hevy’s prerogative to absolutely not have any place for career ending tactics. He believes that kid did in fact do that, so he should set the precedent by speaking out against it. His response, as well as the injured player’s response, are both warranted, IMO.
  15. I’d rather try my hardest to be on the side of truth and get mocked by the negative crowd, as opposed to just going along to get along. That’s the easy way out. We both have to answer some day for what we stand up for, and I sincerely hope you know what happens to deceived people on that day. Don’t be so cocksure you’re on the “right” side because you along with the opinion of “the crowd,” buddy.
  16. Do you care to prove that slandering accusation, or do you just write off people that don’t have the same perception as you? I PROMISE this is not “Hevy,” and I’m sure you could talk to the moderators about this. Keep talking and revealing everything.
  17. Fixed sporting events also goes on, but that doesn’t make it right. Nobody is saying it does or doesn’t happen. That’s not the point.
  18. Can you point me to your claim that he announced himself as a man of honor? That’s nothing more than conjecture. Why does the age of the person involved matter? If Hevy does in fact know this kid pulled an Albert Haynesworth, then he should hold his feet to the fire. Otherwise, you’re rewarding blantant cheap shots. If somebody truly cares about the kid, and if he really cheated, help him by holding him accountable. These targeted cheap shots that are becoming common have no place in football. Play a team, line up and beat them the real way. If you have to deliberately cheap shot a player to get him out of the game, then you really weren’t good enough to win without cheating. Cheaters never prosper.
  19. Shutting down stuff that you disagree with or stuff that makes you uncomfortable is censorship. If that kid did in fact try to cheap shot a player and hurt him for the rest of the game, then he should read these things.
  20. So if somebody intentionally hurt another player (which I’m not saying he did), you can’t speak out against it? Speaking out against deliberate, career-ending tactics is handling it without class? That’s the most inconsistent thing I’ve ever read. Both responses are fine. However, being a bystander and saying nothing or making excuses for the perpetrator are the wrong responses.
  21. The hilarious irony is that he was making a point about OTHER people by telling the boxing story, but you completely leaped over it and made a false assumption about hevy. He’s saying he willing stepped away from a sport he loves to avoid foul tactics by a coach. Those are the moral perameters he has for himself, so that’s why he’s speaking out against what he saw. The story was about dirty tactics, not himself. His message says what it says. You’re only responsible for what you write, not the false interpretations that can come with it. That was a very revealing response.
  22. That account had "guest" in front of it the other day, which would mean it's been deactivated.
  23. No one is 100% at this point in the year. That's part of the game. I'm talking about players that were out. Bumpus is the only one that would've made a difference, and he played the first game. Scribner played last Friday. You're using a false equivalency by saying "What if you lost Dresser, Yates, Thomas, etc.?" We were the better team this year by a lot, period. This group has beat UC since they started playing the game. Again, the first game we had two players out to your three. People try to slide around that. The coach did say this was the "real" UC in an interview. That sounded like they were ready, but we still are hearing the same thing from last time. We're a spread team and played in that weather, so please just give the kids credit for once. They won.
  24. I'd agree on other years, but they're not the better team this year. In the first game, they had three injuries to our two. They had their starting defense. In this game, Scribner was back. The UC coach even said this would be the "real" UC. This game would've been worse than the last time if it wasn't for the weather in the first half. I just don't get this injury card. We've dominated them twice, as the scores show. Thankfully, some of their fans like Swo even admitted we were just physically better. Dresden just never gets credit. If Dresden players are hurt, no one bats an eye.
  25. Wow, I honestly thought he wouldn't win after missing a few games, but I'll admit I never even considered this. I even considered Kanye Roberts sneaking in due to the fact he's had a great year, and East and Middle TN players (especially East TN) have more area sports writers on the selection committee. That said, this is such a head scratcher. Only one kid from West TN has won it twice, but then again, you don't see many Juniors winning the award. My thought was after missing a few games and playing just around 20 quarters of football, they had a reason to give someone else the spotlight. Having said that, how do you not nominate a kid who had the highest completion percentage in the state by a country mile, has the highest passer rating by an enormous amount in the state, threw only 27 incompletions, had the highest amount of passing production per attempt in the state, had the most rushing yards per carry in the state (the kid had over 500 rushing yards on less than 35 stinking carries), is on the number one team in the state, on an offense that hasn't been held to under 40 points all year, has a running back with 1,300 rushing yards (regular season) and splits the amount of touches with him and even has the highest punt average in the state? I'm just talking about 1A. I'm not saying the two kids who got nominated shouldn't have been. I don't want to take this moment away from them. Congratulations to all nominees! I'm just confused why they didn't go with a player simply because he had very few attempts, right? That seems to be the only thing that could've hurt him here. He won last year and is still the most efficient and productive passer and rusher per attempt in the state. What in the world else could the kid have done? Everyone predicted their finalists, and everyone had Dresser as a finalist at the very least. To much surprise, the selection committee went the other way. This makes me wonder if they discuss things before voting. I know everyone keeps bringing up multiple pre-season interviews where he said he could care less about the award and wanted a teammate to win it this year and was only focused on a state title. That's great and really impressive for a high school kid to think that way, but I like players to get their fair shake after all the hard work pays off. This could be a positive for the team, though. Any distraction can hurt you at this point in the year.
