Rang is staying at Dresden. On today's Sat morn sports radio talk show he laughed at all these rumors he's leaving. He said outright he's staying, he loves it here at Dresden and it feels like home to him (I feel same. Lived in 8 diff states, but sumin about this Green Acres area, it's home indeed), then he talked about the future teams coming up, our younger-age football teams success, and long range goals. . . Then again, I never will forget Coach Caliperi, (sic ?), how he left Memphis. A lil after winning second in tourney, getting new draft picks for upcoming year, he held a big news conference talking about future, even introducing star recruits. I think it was very next day (maybe a few days later, wasn't many) he having a big conference in KY, announcing he new head coach for Wildcats. ...really?.. That like getting engaged one day, then next day or so he's marrying another gal. Just wasn't proper imo. But what does my opinion count for? Zip. He. I just saying anything possible in world of coaching, but he talking & acting like he gonna be here awhile. His coach & mentor stayed in one place too? Perhaps Rang's goals are more long term & far reaching than folk realize. One has to stay awhile to build top-tier championship programs, right? .. I believe he'll be in Dresden looong time. So drop your fishing line elsewhere, please, ... we done took a liking to Coach Rang.

With Rang's background, the examples of UC, Trenton and Lake Co too, all with many championship appearances & multi-gold winners (recently & in past) ... it really is amazing. I guess if one will just look & learn, then listen to those leaders who've done it and follow their winning recipe, they too shall win. Not easy, but truly worth it. Now that two of the best in Reg 7 moved up to 2A, our W. TN area very well could be getting gold in both classes again. Looking good imo.

Lions Supermen had a super win! This team finally got their ring! Our players got answered prayers. Breaking this ice is very nice! 4 gold in 5 ain't no jive! West TN is where gold should be! Power base is the West, we're simply the best! Even in new scheme, West is still the King. For both 1A & 2A, Gold is here to stay. The champs from our side will still skin East's hide! Us winning is real, West will seal the deal. Get used to it friends, for long time it won't end. Just the way it is, winning is our main biz! This lil poem is now done, wasn't all this kinda fun?

Yes you do. Everyone else too! It's different playing with crosshairs on your back. All teams now play up a notch just itching to Beat Da Man. So Lions gotta play up a notch too. But Coach Rang knows all about this, and will know how to get our guys ready, both mentally & skill/talent wise. He said on radio today he not leaving anywhere, he has long-term goals in Dresden. And I'm sure y'all know too the key to HS success is the feeder programs, the peewee and grade school coaches developing these youngsters and sending up to HS a ready-made player. Then Rang & staff does their thing. When I see a successful HS program I know they have a "farm-program" that's building their youngsters. This behind-the-scenes community support & before-HS sports programs are the key to it all imo. That "Success breeds success" adage is true.

1st Football Gold earned by any team in our county. Gold in other sports at several schools. This was first in football. So proud of & happy for this team!!! Amazing year!

All the E. TN faithful will scream BS on this, but I agree 1,000,000%. The 5-6 best teams in 1A were all in W.TN this year. Lions were the beast of the best (misspelled on purpose).

Size wins in 1A. -GB defenders too fast & physical for Lions receivers. -Cherokees defense will handle & limit Lions QB. GB hits harder than anyone. Too physical for kitty cats. -Dresden's runners will be limited by GB's amazing defense. Too big & too quick. -Lions aren't too fast for GB. They already beat the fastest 1A teams. Dresden ain't that speedy. -GB already played better & faster teams so they can handle whatever Dresden has. -Cherokees much more physical and will wear out the Lions as game goes on. -If Lions stop run GB will throw at will on them. If pass game weak GB run game overpowering. -Anyone predicting a blowout win (by either team) is insane, stupid, crazy, ignorant, moronic, overly zealous fanatic who needs at least professional help, maybe locked up in padded cell. IMPOSSIBLE. NEVER HAPPEN. Bet everything owned it won't be a big win by either side, and especially impossible Dresden defense can shutout GB's offensive machine in the second half (even though Lions did so to everyone else). WON'T HAPPEN. -Whoever wins it will be a close score. No more than 2 score difference, probably less. ACTUAL RESULTS? ..whatever the exalted guru's most assuredly predicted would happen DID NOT, and all that the stupid, dumb, asinine, brain-dead, classless, blind Dresden fans said would take place DID HAPPEN! Only a 50 point lead with 2 minutes left would have been the time to relax and think you had won.) - Real people with true character readily, publicly apologizes when wrong and tries to enjoy the plate of crow & kool-aid they cooked up for themselves. - STOP appointing yourself as the gatekeeper of your own fans. STOP trying to undermine or thwart or "correct" what someone else says or does. That stupid (to you) person may have loads of more bricks than you can ever fathom (or even carry yourself), and there may be a motive to their seeming madness that will prove to be a stroke of genius if you'd just be quiet and let things play out. Trying to keep your own fans (or others) in-line with your own ideas & opinions and within the box of your finite awareness is the epitome of small-minded, limited-thinking, & shallow-hearted people. - When someone's (or team's) walk backs up their talk, it's best & wise if you shut-up and stop your jaw from yakking.
