  1. And if he is the right guy they can find a "spot" for him in the building until certification is attained. As long as he is working towards certification. It has occurred before.
  2. Sometimes it is about more than what some teacher scores on an observation. When a man has somewhat control over 15-20% of your male student population, that goes a heckuva long way. Not sure that Knox County understands that.
  3. If Lane wants the job at Clinton and Clinton wants Lane, I would be all for it as much as it saddens me to say that. He got snubbed the last go round at West and it wouldn't shock me if they didn't do the right thing this time around. I am selfish and want him here but wouldn't hold it against him if he were offered the Clinton job and accepted. Great defensive coach that relates well with "all" the kids.
  4. Selfish reasons. I want Lane at West!
  5. Clinton needs to hire McKamey and stay away from Lane.
  6. The real question is, if he is truly interested, is Knox County willing to give him "another" opportunity?
  7. I would bet a lot more will want it than people think.
  8. Probably Austin Price And what exactly do you win?? The ability to say, "first to report"
  9. Just wanted to hear it from the man himself or the administration not some Punk in Fountain City claiming to be a Maryville Rebel
  10. Political correctness is the undoing of this country. As far as announcements go, my only hope is that the correct decisions are made.
  11. Make no mistake about it, Coach Cummings will call the plays.
  12. My guess is Harig will be the head coach at West next year. Getting a little too late seeing as the season ended so early. According to my grandson, nothing has occurred on the off-season front. That is alarming. Should have already been working out those kids that don't have training during the day.
  13. Congrats to the Ads!! Extremely happy for Coach Courtney! Very classy individual.
  14. Funny how people seem to know things that players don't even know. Makes me wonder just what type of operation is being run at the moment. True or not, this football team needs someone to lead the way.
  15. I will just say this.... I can remember a few years ago that West was inside the 5 about to score again late in the game and took a knee. On consecutive downs. To each his own however.
  16. Ridiculous rule! Don't beat teams by 80 and you will find teams that will play you outside of Knox County. I am sure people will want to blast me for that but sometimes the truth hurts.
  17. One name on that list that I pray has no validity to it. I know he won't be around forever but my fingers are crossed that it won't be anytime soon.
  18. Regardless, I hope they are already meeting and planning for the upcoming season. I think it is imperative that these guys get on the same page moving forward!
  19. I didn't realize that Knox West was looking for a new coach.
  20. Congrats to both teams! I guess this is where I'll be on Friday night.
  21. Joe Gaddis is a great football coach! I am sure he would have loved the season to turn out differently. I think you keep him until he says I am done.
  22. Interesting post. I normally sit back and just read on the happenings of high school football here Knoxville. I am an actual West supporter and have been for years. I have sat through many terrible football seasons at Bill Wilson Field. This past season was one of the most disappointing I have ever witnessed. You make a point in your post that I am curious about. What players would you have used to build the offense around? I saw a few kids going both ways this year. A lot more than years past. In my opinion, the best athlete on the team was rarely utilized(#2). I can't speak on the lack of support from assistant coaches because I am not that deeply involved. Maybe you can speak on that further because you seem to have great insight into the current issues at West. I do know the majority of them and I think very highly of the ones that I do know. I could care less where a guy comes from as long as he can get things done. There was so much confusion on the field this year that it was ridiculous. Looked like a train wreck! The delay of game penalties or wasting of timeouts because you can't get a play in. It has been awhile since the special teams have been this atrocious. I have no idea what the future holds at West, I just know that I feel bad for the kids. If you think this past football team had 4-6 talent then we will agree to disagree. Regardless, I will be sitting in the stands next year in August cheering on the Rebels and my grandson.
