Awesome,a preseason game against the defending 5a state champs.

What I remember thinking was Greeneville may never get another chance to win the state .That was still better then we had seen in this part of the state in a long time and a great accomplishment for that Devil team but it was so heart breaking to see them come so close.I don't have to look that far back to feel that way.I remember standing on top of the press box just a few months ago watching that dang hail mary

By the way,DB is bringing the whole band for sure I was told.

Well,I like your enthusiasm about the Devils chances but it wouldn't surprise me to see either team beat the other by 3 scores as I've said before.Mistakes by either team and how they matchup will as in most games,tell the story.I think the weight is more on the shoulders of the DB staff then the Greeneville staff,but hey ! I doubt either wants to lose this one and it should be a heck of a first game.

I wouldn't get to excited if DB were to lose a few games with this schedule.It's a great one for getting ready for the playoffs as long as they get to the playoffs.I have always said this was going to be the team but the depth up front is not what is was going to be.SO, staying healthy is going to be huge for a playoff run.The playoffs is what every team should build for .I hope both teams come out of this first game injury free and it helps build for their future games.

You done a great job on the vid and yes it looked like Fulton is loaded with fine athletes.I really want to see how that 3way scrimmage goes,that will also be a huge test for the Devils.Do you know who has the DB game on TV.I hope to get down there but I never know with my schedule if that's possible.

70,I'm not saying your opinion is correct or not because it's your right to give it.Just giving my thoughts here.There have been times that I didn't think there was a better coach or better staff anywhere then what DB has had over the years.There have also been times that I wish I'd never had a kid playing for them.That's the way most things in life go.I've had some great all out knock down fights with my best friend but we are still best friends.Without a doubt over time I will look back and see more good came from having a son play for coach Clark and his staff then had they went to most any other school in the area besides that beautiful Devil school I went to.I don't blame coach Clark for doing what he loves as long as he wants to.I'm not that much younger then you boys and hope I can work as long at the Big E as they will let me.It's not up to me however and that's why I can't blame coach Clark for not doing what others may see as the right or wrong thing.

Watched the vid,both the Devils and Fulton looked pretty good to me.Fulton might not have the size and numbers it normally has but they still have some fine athletes and will win some games for sure.Looked like great work for both teams.I really like how Greeneville has the preseason and season set up with some great competition outside its conference.Hope it plays out perfectly come playoff time.

The main thing I see in games like this for Greeneville is to go against teams that have some big ole boys and fine athletes in preparation for the playoffs.It helps DB going against teams like Greeneville and Alcoa in a simular way but it's also a case of goliath vs David and both these schools together are a little over half DB's size.So it's a big deal to play well for DB and try not to get beat no matter what is said in the papers.There is a crap load of money been put into everything from the doubledecker stadium to that two story weight room ,coaches offices ,conference and dressing room.Don't think this game isn't important to both schools and their fans.I know,I have a whole family of Indians .

I didn't.The thing about scrimmages is you never know what coaches are working on.Seen a few Maryville scrimmages over the years and sometimes thought they wouldn't win a game with what they done that day.Some coaches go for blood and some use them for depth building.

Can't speak for 70, but I do know the problem most people I ever talked DB football with had was not the regular seasons aleast until the last couple years .It's nice to be 10-0 and ranked high in the state.It down right sucks to see your kid made fun of because of the playoffs and if GC or anyone else could take a DB team to the state and win,not many would complain .Until that happens,nomatter who the coach is,most are not going to be completely happy and are going to raise hail when things like the Sevier county playoff game happen or McMinn or....That's life and coaching is a very hard job and your not going to please everyone even if you won the state.

You never know how teams will matchup Blazer,has anyone got what channel will carry the game.I never know my schedule or if I can get down to G-town .Be nice to know if it's on the net as well

Not to many fans like the taste of crow is my guess.Both teams have enough talent to take the other behind the woodshed and lay a 4 or 5 touchdown beating on the other.A few mistakes and big momentum could make it happen.It really wouldn't surprise me if this was the case or it came down to 3 overtimes.Now,Batman has his cape covered either way.There is no question to which team should have a huge advantage in depth and should be the out right favorite.Not because DB is 3 times bigger,but because of what was in the system and those players that are still on DB's roster.That said,Greeneville might not have started with as many athletes , but they have some great ones and one of the best coaching staffs in the state.Those two factors and the fact Greeneville players are generally a little tougher then most athletes they go against,add up to even matchup in my mind.

Well,I would very much like to see the Devils go 15-0 again.They have a very hard schedule for a 4A school as well.It's almost exactly what they had back in the old days when DB ,SH and Morristown were part of the same conference.I think DB fans would gladly lose 3 regular season games to go 5-0 in the playoffs.The football playoffs have been a huge part of Dobyns Bennett fans frustrations since they begain in the 60's.I know as a DB parent ,it was very frustrating watching a team come to J fred with half the talent and walk out with a win in the first round.I can't imagine how many state titles Greeneville and Elizabethton would have had between them in todays setup back in the 30s,40s,50s,60s,70s and so on with or without playoffs.Elizabethton won the only " one class "state playoff ever held in 1938 before the state started the current playoff system in the late 60's.I think DB was also the first round game for Elizabethton that year for goodness sakes .

12 would be a perfect number of wins if DB can lose 3 regular season games as well.

This will be a war.I can see DB trying to run over the Devils and the Devils stacking the line of scrimmage trying to force a mistake in the air.I can see DB bringing the house with it's always fine linebackers to try and force a mistake or get to A great QB for the sack.Something as simple as an offside penalty could be huge in this game.Whoever can keep their defense off the field might have the upper hand.Shoot,neither teams defense might be on the field long with these two teams.

I said several years ago that there would be enough talent in this group to compete for a title and I wasn't talking the old big East conference.Once again two left that started on either side of the line 3 years ago and that is " still " one of their strong points when you add in a couple from other classes.You don't have to be a football genius to know this had the makings of a super team . DB still has some very strong running backs and playmakers.Had there been someone who could have known how to use the talent of two potential super skill players that are no longer on the team and help guide them ,wow .A strong point for years has been linebackers at DB and one of the best assistant coaches a couple years ago was coach Holt.Another cluster for him not to be at DB in a bigger , If not much bigger position.

The Boone lake remark is very understandable but at the same time should be a concern for any DB fan wondering why ? I think two of the remaining senior offensive and defensive lineman on the roster,started on their outstanding 9th grade team 3 years ago.

Can't tell you torch who will have the game.I'll just be glad when this game is over.So many of those DB boys I've watched for years and it's darn hard not to pull for them.I see big TY is on the DB staff and I always wish him and his whole family the best.

A lot of Greeneville fans sit on the visitor side as well.My guess is the stadium is about 5 thousand seats short for this matchup.Very glad it will be on tv.

A DB band parent told me they were bringing the band.I didn't ask if it was the whole band,hope so.If your a Devil fan and have never seen this band ,it's really something worth watching at the high school level.Biggest band in the state including college bands.One of the best in the nation every year as well in competition.

Guys who are still there like " Tiny " who have size ,speed and strength will for sure open his eyes wide.

This is a great game for Greeneville because DB has some fine athletes and are 6A.All to gain in my mind.DB could have been deeper here and there but they are still loaded with talent

Cade is a badaz for sure and a great player,I hope he has done away with the extra crap these days.
