  1. This is a lb for lb list so you may notice most of my list is composed of smaller guys with the obvious exception of Sammy and Heyward.
  2. These are not in any particular order but I'm gonna list some names that I think should be in the discussion for top 10 AFTER my top 2 (Evans and Hutchins) and probably most of them after Heyward: Holloway, Gill, Pendley, Hunter, Colon-Mora, Warwick, Gross and Camper.
  3. SX1234, you may wanna change your Rd2 winners bracket from WC over Cleveland to WC over Science Hill. Maj may agree with you being spot on with everything but I'm gonna def disagree here.
  4. WG,"2 big wins for Halls", I was thinking the same!
  5. My first and second picks are Sammy and Hutchins. Heyward is up there as well. Someone with more time today than myself can make a complete list to get this started.
  6. Forgot to even mention Bowers, Pond, Dezember, Gross, and Flynn. Im sure someone can come up with several more names of kids that will bc "studs" someday soon, possibly beginning this weekend or two weeks from now (depending on how well their teams have done) and carrying over for the next few years.
  7. I think Brackett will be back as well. May be wrong but I believe he's only a Jr this yr. Other names will step up next season and fill the void. Kids like Whitworth, Holloway, Palmer, Horst, Cannon, Martin, Dooley,Graham, and "Little" Kramer, as well as some others I have forgot to mention.
  8. Rippy was injured to start the season. You're correct in that he is only a 1x Champ, but he's only a Jr and his freshman year he came in 3rd with his loss being to Debien(as a Sr and who just happens to be one of the best wrestlers our state has produced in recent history) in the quarters. He actually gave Debien his toughest match of the state tournament that season including the semis AND finals. Rippy is a very good wrestler and everyone is entitled to their own list, AS LONG AS everyone else on the "T" agrees with it.
  9. And I neglected to mention that Josh Reynolds is NOT employed by the Robertson Co school system, which makes it much more difficult for him to "recruit" good athletes walking the halls. He coaches his wrestlers for FREE which means it COST him time from his family and money he could be earning to give back to these young men. I know his guys will be ready to get after it when they hit the mat this weekend. Keep up the good work Coach Reynolds!
  10. The coach receiving this award was in attendance at FR on Sun when the voting was done. Another Mid TN coach notified me and told me who was selected bc he knows I've known Coach Reynolds for about 25 years. I respect Josh Reynolds tremendously as a Coach and even more as a man! I would not have posted this "secretive information" if the honoree didnt already know. Coach Reynolds has done an outstanding job at Greenbrier and could take over at some of the traditional powerhouses in our state and they wouldn't miss a beat. Some of them would probably be getting an upgrade. Greenbrier is a small school that definitely isn't known as a "wrestling hotbed" in our state and is very lucky to have such an outstanding coach and man helping guide their wrestlers into men.
  11. Wristbar, you'll find out soon enough, once you've received your clearance for such top secret information.
  12. Hamblen, well said about the last part of the next to last sentence! I couldn't agree more.
  13. CBG, are TD2 and myself both wrong, right, outdated, or just making stuff up?
  14. TD2, I very well may be mistaken but I thought there was an All Midstate team for each classification (AAA, A-AA, and DII) and the Dream Team consisted of all 3 classifications. Is this not right?
  15. Bump, don't forget about the D2 wrestlers as well. King, Elkin, Wesnofske and Hooker just to name a few off the top of my head.
  16. Wiki Leaks reported it. JK Another coach friend of mine who was there and voted yesterday told me.
  17. I agree Bump that Summit can win several matches. Probably more than most people realize. I think they match up well with Cleveland in the smaller and middle weights but I don't believe they will be able to score enough bonus points there to offset the bonus points Cleveland scores from 82 up, not counting what Bowers, Pond, and Landers get them.
  18. No, I think Thomas wins at 106. Actually I think he "may" have the best possibility of scoring 6 for them. I think Klingensmith should win as well. That being said, I don't see enough "five and sixes" for them to pull it off. IMO, they could win 7 or 8 matches and still get beat by close to 10. Its gonna depend on which kids are moved where and how they wrestle when Friday rolls around.
  19. Hamblen,You are exactly correct in that who you wrestle during the regular season goes a long way during state duals. I DEFINITELY was NOT trying to "rub it in". Your team that season is the only middle/west TN team to place in A/AA in several years. I wasn't trying to insult you, your coaching ability, or your team that season. My comment could/should be taken as a compliment instead of a derogatory statement (I'll leave out the BOLD next time).Guess I'll talk to you at the next AAU youth tournament.
  20. Coach Hamblen, I was not trying to bash you or the Sycamore program that you were at a few years ago. I do not know anything about the Cheatham Co. school board or their policies, but I do think you are a very good wrestling coach and will do some great things at Goodpasture when you get enough kids. And I believe you probably did schedule as many tough teams as you were allowed. I was simply stating a fact that it's been abt 5 years since a middle/west TN team has been on the podium in A/AA and if you don't think the score that day was "just a little lopsided", then we can disagree on that part. I will gladly introduce myself to you this weekend or at the next youth tournament, whichever is first. Keep up the good job at Goodpasture.
  21. Congratulations to Josh Reynolds of Greenbrier on being voted Middle TN Dream Team Coach of the Year by his fellow coaches. He has done an outstanding job of coaching his kids the last several years and is finally getting some of the recognition that he deserves. Coach Reynolds started the middle school program at Greenbrier 5 years ago and took over the HS program 4 years ago. His teams have been region champs and made the state tournament for 3 years in a row. Congratulations Josh Reynolds on a job well done! I'm not sure about all of the wrestlers who were voted on the team, but please feel free to post if you do.
  22. Sycamore got DESTROYED by Hixson in the consi-finals about 5 yrs ago. But you're correct Booger, it's been a while since middle/west TN has been on the podium in small schools.
  23. I'm saying Butler and Knott for sure will win. Those two "will have to stick their opponents". Desselle should win as well and they need bonus pts from him too.
