  1. Sounds, like you can compete with tge STATE OF TENNESSEE elite programs in your classification. Yes, Ripley has fallen off drastically but this years team seem to be making strides in the right direction.
  2. Haven't seen Bolivar or heard much, but hoping that the Trojans don't plau like they did on their last outing against Jackson Northside, the game waa a mistake filled outing ine of tge worse games the Trojans have played this season. Go Trojans, keep it one game at a time..
  3. I just notice that Crockett Cty lost last week to Obion in Troy, that was a surprise. I think Obion lost to Ripley earlier. If that's the case, the district current rankings are DHS Crockett/Haywood Ripley and OC...with everyone else having lost one or two games. Is this correct? If so DHS is assured a first place finish if they win one of their two remaining district games, both on the road Ripley and Crockett...mmmI
  4. What's anyone input on this week This week the Dyersburg Trojans are in Bolivar, will last weeks open date and this week Fall Break be a factor?
  5. It's over Haywood fan, the game was 2 two wks ago .....mive on....
  6. No this is the worse they have played this Falll. I have to credit some of that to JNS for coming and playing hard/ Homecoming/last wks win and of course the weather were all factors in our lackluster performance last night and in this order. Cant take anything from JNS becauae they came to play and that they did. These guys have improved since their game with Haywood. Best of luck JNS...
  7. Good ugly win..not sure how many yards in penalities for Dyersburg, but bet we had at least 200 yds in penalities. A variety cinsisting of several chop blocks. Personal Fouls, Off Sides, you name it we did it. DHS was definitely not focused too much Homecoming....all of those Boss Hoss Motorcycles looked like a bike rally. DHS really does it festive for their games, great crowd stayed throighout the penalty and rain plague first half. Next week open date is on time. Tonight we unleashed a powerful Freshmen running back.Darius Harris...Coach Stowe mush have a stable of good strong quick backs. We will take a ugly win ocer a lost anytime. Go Trojans.
  8. No MSU Racer it was the same team. I think our guys will be focused just read Coach Stowe comments in todays paper and I believe we will be ok...Gooo Trojans.
  9. No problem Trader Two it waa starting to look like the conversation was going south and I wanted to redirect everyone to this wks game. Appreciate your thoughts, we need a little humor here sometimes. Exactly, Coach Stowe was hired by us (DHS), and at the time I wasnt feeling the hire, because he wasnt creating a lot of good teams in Brownsville. I think his first two yrs here were lackluster performances by his DHS Teams and there was grumbling, but around year 3 , Coach got things going in the right direction.
  10. This is the JNS vs DYERSBURG..topic...the other game is over lets move on.. Any predictions for tonight?
  11. Exactly.....we're here to discuss Northside....Haywoon vs Dyersburg is old news...DHS 42.. JNS -7
  12. I don't recall saying Haywood schedule wasn't difficult, I just stated playing tougher competition can help a team, however there are coaches who think differently abd scheduke accordingly. My comment in reference to the Clarksville Team in the district with Henry Cty., was an opinion last time I checked people do that on here, right have opinions? The Clarksville team record in the district with Henry Cty is 5-0 and is still undefeated and ranked near the top in the state polls....so until they play Henry Cty.. I'll stick with my opinion... I wasn't here to belittle either coach,I actually was wanting to discuss tomorrow noghts game not last wks......
  13. Shawboy, congrats to Haywood and their schedule, although one of the advantages of playing what u and other football experts evidently consider a tougher schedule is to make your team tougher and more prepared for weaker or more challenging competition. If that were the instAnce here it kind of "blew up in your face" no pun intended. All the tough competition got you was 2 more losses and bragging rights that you played what u consider tougher competition. Henry County is good but there are two more teams (The Clarksville schools) in their district as good or better then them. There playoff could end in Round 2, so did you really play tougher competition or someone equal to or not as good as the Trojans? The same logic can be applief for coaches who schedule lighter competition early in the season to help create confidence in their players especially younger ones. This is believed by some coaches to help create rhythm and flow in teaching players each others strengths against weaker competition. Not bad mouthing anyone but lets keep playing on Friday night and see what happens. After all is said and done Haywood did have Coach Stowe first..
  14. Glad to know and hoping you are correct Base off your conversation with Coach Stowe, not being focus can result in a lot of turnovers and penalities. This was the case last week for Haywood, they were literally their own worse enemy the entire first half. LAter, following the game , I remember a Haywood fan sayibg " I hope we have worked on oir turnover issues". Haywood was expected to be a great team this year not saying they aren't but the preseason ranking was suppose to get higher not drop to where they currently are in the State polls. I remember at the Jamboree Haywood lost in what waa considered a mild shocking upset to Union City who is also struggling base off their past seasons football performances. Sometimes all the hype can lead to added pressure which results in lots of mistakes, the signs that this was going to be a ongoing flaw was there from the first game.. Perhaos, now everyone is starting to notice.. No pressure Trojans, no pressure...stay focus and lets Beat Northside on Ftiday
  15. Tks.... I wasn't aware of anyone else for DHS getting hurt. However, tks for your analysis. Hoping our guys stay focus there is still a lot of football to be played this season....
  16. Alcoa and Maryville must have open enrollment or they both have MONSTER MIDDLE school feeder programs. My next question, how can a school reach a certain enrollment and stop taking students? Definitely did not work for Dyer County, they would love to drop a class, but students keep coming there. They were a beast in Boys Basketball, but when they were reclassified life wasn't as easy.
  17. What's anyone input on this game Friday night? Jackson Northside has momentum and thus far appear to be representative of some of their great teams from the past. The game is in Dyersburg and it's their Homecoming, therefore if the Trojans are still celebrating last weeks victory over Haywood, we might be caught off guard. This has all the ingredients for a upset special? Add in the fact that I think we are already qualified for the playoffs...nothing to gain but a lot to lose if we are not focus. .Hopefully, we are mentally/physically prepared to win in a big way Friday night. Anyone care to comment?
  18. Yes, the Trojans were definitely clicking the first half, of course Haywood made it look easy with so many costly penalities. Haywood played much better the second half and was gaining the momentum. However, Coach Stowe made the adjustments needed and the Trojan defense went back into "head hunter" mode. D'burg has a stable of good running backs who are hard to bring down, and run very hard. I hope the Trojans stay focus because up next is Jackson Northside and they are a lot better this year then in years past, plus its our Homecoming . Hopefully, Our heads will be in the game. This win should get us closer to a homefield advantage in the playoffs.
  19. Yes, Haywood is definitely the best we've played since Covington, but a lot of young talent played in the Jamboree. I think a lot of coaches do this in the pre season Jamborees not wanting to reveal too much. This is in no way taking anything from Covington, because they are an excellent team. Dyersburg, has several players injured and the Taylor kid who was a starter (sophomore) and played both sides of the ball is out for the season, that will definitely hurt and take away some of what you considered home field advantage...LOL
  20. Both teams will come to play because both are fundametally sound and have good coaching. I think this will come down to who controls the line of scrimmage and holds onto the ball and have fewer penalities.... Go Trojans
  21. Really, That definitely comes as a surprise was expecting a smaller margin. I guess we will see if the experts know their stuff after the game on FRIDAY. #GoTrojans
  22. What's anyone input on this game Friday night? Obion, grabbed the momentum early in the season last year in Troy and escaped with a close one. In fact this lost went a long way in helping to determone the fate of the Trojans in the playoffs, as we had to travel. Perhaps, this is still in the back of the Trojans minds, and hopefully we are mentally/physically prepared to win in a big way Friday night. Anyone care to comment?
  23. Yes, you are right about C Russell and I still believe he is overlooked. I don't think opponents realize how good the young man is until its too late. The entire team came ready to play and were somewhat focus. I say somewhat because of all the penalities.....However. season is still young. Coach Stowe has a stable of good running backs as well. If this team stays healthy. Focus and continue to improve this can be a "magical year" at JC Sawyers stadium.
