It don't get no better than Milan vs Huntingdon!

Maybe the beating that Riverside gave Milan was a wake up call. I don't believe the team we beat is the team that showed up at Lewis County or the the team that Huntingdon will face this Friday night. I think Huntingdon pulls this one out in a close one but wouldn't be surprised for a Milan win.
Is Milan playing that much better or is Lewis Co just that bad! Guess we'll find out Friday night.

Forgot to mention much but USJ is a good looking team and like Dyersburg will be around a few years. Gibson County and USJ yesterday was a classic and worth the price of admission. USJ won by 1 in OT. USJ has a lot of good young shooters to go along with Ayers. Sorry to hear about the Simpson news for Westview. Prayers to her and her family. Really good ball player. I do expect USJ and Dyersburg to be really good both with decent shots at the Gold Ball. Glad basketball season is here. Going to be some good games this year.
Whose scrimmaging this week? Got to get my mind off the Huntingdon Milan battle Friday night!

Union City turned it over some but I was pretty impressed with them. They were very athletic and very good defensively. Look to be on the right track. We won in a pretty competitive game by 12 or so I think. I can't remember. We played several players as we had to because we played four games. Greenfield is going to be good in your District as well. Good looking team. I know y'all will be good so it will be a good District. Greenfield gets Alford back they will be really good. Good luck to y'all. Y'all are coming to our Christmas Tournament which looks to be a really good one.
Fillies scrimmaged Union City this summer. Fillies won by 2 but it was the most physical game we played all summer. Better put on your big girl britches when you play them!

That’s not saying much. Gibson County middle is down this year. Martin beat them by 20+ the other night. Martin never can seem to get Huntingdon to schedule them in middle school but it would be a good matchup I believe.
Westview will be better after Christmas than they will be early in the season but when you put the freshman point guard with Alexander and Sims and then get Simpson and Evans back in there, they are going to be pretty tough and I think will start clicking at the right time
Huntingdon tried to get in that Weakley conference but were turned down. They took Mckenzie and West Carroll.

Rumor mill is that the Doctors offices in Huntingdon have seen a wide outbreak of a rare out break of big head syndrome. From reading past reports it seems to happen every year around the same time only to quickly have no cases at all come the end of November due to all patients heads being deflated.
It's amazing Dresden has only beat us 3 times in 18 games with all the health issues over here!

I agree. Most if not all our mistakes the first game are correctable and I think we have yet to play our best game. If we make those adjustments and play a clean game I think it will be a close game going to fourth quarter and who knows what can happen then.
I know the Bulldogs are going to play us tough but this Mustang team is playing better right now than I've seen a Mustang team play in a long time. We're playing strong in every phase of the game. We've got playmakers all over the field. Running game clicking, our offensive line is knocking people off the ball. Our defense is shutting down the run and our db's are breaking on the ball, best defensive backfield we've assembled in a long time and last but not least our special teams are playing lights out. Enough bragging the Dogs will probably beat us 2 TD's but this team is playing on another level than when we played Milan the first time

All I can say is Peabody is still playing this Friday
Huge win for Peabody. Program needed something positive to happen before the season ended.

Mustangs road to the semi's is going to be tough. Got to beat 2 talented teams that we've already beat in the regular season. If we can somehow win these next 2 we should win it all.

You guys have a great team and a mediocre coach
Trenton's coach is very good and I'm not going to cut him down like you do our coach. He better be good because from what I've seen coming up the pipeline he's going to need to be.

@Tide21 you seeing this mess??
Last 3 meetings Swenson has won 49-28, 41-28 & 48-14 and you say coach Jacob's is on another level. He's a great coach but that's a stupid assumption.

Not on jacobs level!
Disagree. When has he beat Swenson? I'm impressed with Riverside's coach also. All big-time coaches.

Our coaches are some of the best in the state
Region 6 has a number of outstanding coaches.

Mustangs were ready to play tonight. Showed opponents that we can throw the football. Region 5 hasn't seen the kind of physicality that Region 6 brings to the table. Waverly is young and learned a lot tonight. They'll be alright. Program needs buy a few cans of stick-em!

Those things are easy to say if the teams you’re talking about don’t play. I have a ton of respect for two teams mentioned that he said would beat my team by two tds and they very well might IF they played. I think Croppy is a good guy. He’s just a true homer and I admire that too. He just has no respect for Hardin County, never has, never will. But at the end of the day I don’t care. Lexington and HC always has a war on the football field don’t matter who is supposed to win. But all I’m concerned with at the moment is White House.
Nope not true. I played against 2 of Savannahs greatest players. Joe Thompson and Joe Barker, great players and great guys. Yall had some great teams in those days just couldn't beat us. Hardin Co has produced a bunch of great players. Wish we still played. Yall need to toughen up that schedule.

No way Jose. Are teams not allowed to have bad games? I had a feeling you were waiting to say that, you just didn't know when to say it, until now.
Good teams have those games early in the season not this time of year.

List looks good. 1983 is a Dresden hater. If I looked right Dresden is the 2nd highest scoring team in all classifications and 1st in 1a. And they did it against the good
Think Riverside and Huntingdon are both 2 TD's better than Hardin Co.

Today’s team would mercy rule that 66 team. Today’s team are bigger, faster, and stronger.
1966 team dominated a tough schedule more completely than this Mustang team. Teams in those days didn't have the weight rooms or steroids like today's teams and the starters rarely took a snap in the 2nd half.
-
The Mustangs have had so many great teams it hard to pick one as the best. I can remember so many outstanding teams we had before the play-offs began. We've never had any extended periods where we weren't good. My pick for the best one is the 1966 Mustangs, just completely dominated everyone. If you are a football fan Huntingdon is paradise!

I only saw Huntingdon in person two games this year. I think they are one of the best Huntingdon teams I've seen. If they scoot to the outside, they are extremely hard to stop. They have a quarterback whose going places too.

Agree.
In the past we’ve seen the playbook shrink when playoffs roll around. I understand that you dance with the one that brought you, but you have to be ready when the songs change.
I go to practice a lot. Our playbook is much larger than it seems. We work extensively on plays that you haven't seen yet. We spent much more time on the passing game than you would think also. Fun watching the Mustangs practice. Those kids have a lot of fun at practice. Like the way Swenson interacts with players. No yelling and screaming on the practice field. Kids really respond well to our staff.
